Just did this job today for my parents 2017 Latitude, dealership wanted $1500! Bought the radiator for $97 bucks on Rockauto and used this video. Can't thank you enough sir!!!
@user-tf9sc5do6x my bad didn't see your question until now. Maybe 5 hours or so. Was having a few beers while doing it so not sure. Not hard at all tho doing it this method
@@SharpAndCunning the radiator i got was the cheapest one off of rockauto. It's still holding up great! Had a plugged heater core recently that was causing heat only on the drivers side but a flush fixed that
Thank you for making this video. This is the most comprehensive one on the entire RUclips. Dealer quoted me 1800, I watched your video for a couple times and replaced it myself in three days. Why do they have to make this so difficult 10/10 will never want to do this again lol
Hey bro your video was great. It substantially saved me a lot of time And money not using a mechanic. I originally brought it to a mechanic who said he couldn’t do it because he could not evac R134yf and blah blah. So I figured that was nonsense and completed the job myself. And clearly the condenser and refrigerant does not have to be removed. And guys, If this video saved you time and money, send your thanks with a few $$$.
This video guided me through replacing my radiator on my 2015 jeep Cherokee v6 yesterday . Total cost was about $250. Changed the upper hose but didn’t change the bottom hose. I figure I can access it through the wheel well if necessary. Thanks man.
Thank you Sir. for making this video. This is the most best comprehensive one on the entire RUclips. i had a hard time putting it back together, your video has help me big time.😀😀😀
Thank you so much man! Took me an hour and a half or so for the removal and install. Then a little more for the coolant fill with your video.. what a life saver and $$$$$ also.
Thanks so much for doing this. As if it's not difficult enough without worrying about the camera at the same time. I had some trouble getting the bolts out of the cross member for the under engine cover panel. I used a 3/8 impact and none of them broke but they were slow coming out so I was concerned. Never Seize going on them when I put them back in, good anytime you have a steel bolt going into aluminum (galvanic reaction and all that).
1. Thank you for this video it gave me assurance it’s something I could do myself and was real helpful. 2. I did this on our 2015 3.2L and it is indeed a pain in the a**. I did have to drop the front bumper because the plastic pieces on each side are different than what are on this 2014. Bumper goes back on pretty easily. 3. I broke one of the bottom feet bracket things, luckily a dealer nearby had it. But beware.
Just used this video to replace the fan set on my Trailhawk 2015.. The desert sand here in Abu Dhabi got into the fan gears making them stuck. This job is a bit painful, but it can be done yourself. Thank you for this video.
I appreciate this. Needed this tutorial to help get my alternator out today. I need to get the fans out to just reach the alternator. I hate working on my jeep.
Replacing the Electric Radiator Fan on 2014 Trailhawk, 3.2. Minor differences in the Trailhawk. Wow, what a pain to just replace the Electric Fan. Why, Why, Why design this way!!! But, your video is some reassurance to what I am right now in middle of. I am stuck trying to work the fan off, Looks like I need to remove the bottom bolts like you did for replacing the whole radiator.
I think it's engineered to discourage most people from doing the work themselves so that they're forced, Jeep hopes, to go to the dealer. I'll never own another one. Wanna buy a '14 Cherokee Trailhawk? I'll cut a helluva deal!
Great video I had my my 2017 jeep Cherokee Latitude radiator replaced under warranty with only 9K miles on the car there was a manufacturing problem with the radiator, 5 years later with 60k miles on the car I had to replace it again this time I did the work myself and as I was doing the job I had seen how sloppy a job the dealer had don ( broken parts and loos screws)
Exactly why I’m doing it myself. Dealer work that I’ve looked at for this ‘14 Trailhawk is just a mess. Missing screws, unsecured retaining clips, etc.
2014 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk , Name: Fiona Stephanie Trailhawking . Crunched the front end of her last Christmas. Luckily all the impact went down into the tow hooks, the Front Reinforcement bar (Mopar calls Air Baffle), and the front frame rails that bolt to the frame. Only real casualty was those rails, the tow hooks , and the radiator , and all associative plastic brackets and braces. The body panels and hood is perfect. Really surprising actually. Going to replace Transmission oil cooler, condenser, and radiator . They all crunched together but only radiator busted a leak. I plan on going back into mad max style with liberal amounts of JB weld reinforced bailing wire. Wish me luck!
I just placed my radiator in my 2014 jeep Cherokee latitude and the upper hose broke and had to order another one. Well Chrysler changed the hose and clap. The hose just barely fits and does not go over the ridge plus I had to change out the clap cause the one came with it does not set tight, pulls right off.
Thanks, good video. When I’m putting the new radiator in, the compressor doesn’t match up exactly with the bolts on the radiator, seems like one of the compressor fittings is hitting the bottom bracket of the new radiator preventing everything to line up. I’m thinking of cutting away a little bit of the bracket. Have you ever seen this before?
UPDATE.. for anyone with a 2016 2.4l if you do not want to remove ac lines what I did on the passenger side of radiator where it slides off ac line I cut the corners off of the embedded plastic so much easier
Great video man I'm actually doing this on a 2016 latitude and wanted too see before starting if anyone did it without removing the front end lol .. i hate when they make it so tedious to do even the slightest thing in an engine bay . Like leave some room lol when i looked at this jeep i was hoping it wasnt the water pump due to.where its located on these pos
@@edjohnson9989 Yes, just pour it into the reservoir. It's where he was showing the bubbles form. You can do a quick google search on how to add coolant. Hope that helps :)
What is the function of the dielectric grease applied in the o-ring? There is a second o-ring in the upper radiator, do you recommend lubricating that one too? My car has been leaking form the o-ring in the top of the radiator, I’ve replaced the o-ring (without applying lubricant) but it hasn’t stopped the leak. Great video!!
Haha, you must not see too many mechanics, this guy is great compared to what I've seen!! Just watched a vid where the guy is throwing the parts on the floor, etc.
@ I’m a mechanic too, all I needed to see was if he unhooked ac. You can make a how to video with less BS narrative and just cut sections by steps. Don’t need to be a videographer to use common sense and sum up the project

What kind of light is on your head? It looks nice.
thanks man. can you do serpentine belt and transmission fluid on the cherokee next?
How was the coolant inserted ? Maybe I missed it ? I was skipping to how you install the coolant some pour some use a refill air tool
I used a air tool

Hey Jabo!! Can You help me? Thanks!!
I always use silicone grease, or Vaseline on any rubber seals. It'll prevent leaks and prevent damaging the seal during the install.
Can you do the actual video step by step bleeding process bc that’s not even close
Nice. How many gallons of antifreeze to fill up?
2-3 gallons
Is it 50/50
