Hey man just wanna shout out my HUGE thanks for your video. My gfs 2014 jeep GC was leaking coolant and after replacing the thermostat and upper hose I finally saw the leak in the radiator. Same exact spot as yours. Ended up tackling the water pump while I had it all removed but I had your video up following step by step and it was a godsend. You have another very grateful viewer! Was my first time doing this and you made it easy. Cheers!
Awesome…. Thank you Sir! Didn’t know where to start. Brilliant well explained, well shot & informative video. Taking the bumper off the BIG secret. Thank you 🩷👍👍
Thanks for the detailed and simple DIY video. My first time changing a radiator and I was able to do it in two hours with the help of your video. I had a problem with bleeding it at first but I eventually got it. Again thank you 🙏🏾
Well done brother! This video made this job super easy for me. You are super good at making the video and talking through the steps. I really appreciate you man. Keep up the good work!
Thank you for making this video I just replace mines with out taking the bumper off and it wasn’t bad at all it did start raining so I had to stop but by than I was putting everything back together
Update, worked out great. I tried to do it without taking the bumper cover off but it was easier just to take it off. I didn’t need to disconnect the hood cable though. All in all your video really helped a lot. Thanks again.
From what I could see just a few more ounces of coolant in the radiator at a time like 10% so I just took the time to find a HD but if you're not towing it wouldn't even matter
I replaced my radiator a 1 1/2 yrs ago now on my 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee 3.6l V6. I avoided taking the bumper off which saves some time for sure. I watched a couple of videos which showed how to without removing it. It is quite the job for one person. One step frustrated me putting the radiator back in its place. It all hinged on the angle that I had it to snap back into place. After almost an hour frustrated, I put it on a slight angle and it snapped back into place. Not for the novice DIYer
No doubt it's a tough job. I think the 30 min to take off the bumper made this easier for me personally but I can see if it's someones first time removing it that adds another 1.5hrs like you said!
Removing the bumper is the easiest part of the job. I rather spend 10 minutes taking it off then spend a half hour fighting around it. To each their own I guess.
Hi, i have a question, can i also swap out the condenser while at it, other videos show you have to pull bumper off ( wrote this as you were saying don't need to remove) but i don't want to do that,i have a bull bar and its also got headlight washers as well as being a diesel, its too much work having to remove all the front part, so i'm hoping i can change the condenser out after the radiator.. sorry if that made no sense. Nice vid thanks
@@LJsGarage Yeah i did it, a bit fiddly but very doable, an extra clip for the inter cooler and extra piping to get off, thanks from Australia, Cheers Mate :)
Great video, time to do the wife's. Wanted to get a quick rundown. One recommendation, is get yourself a bleeder funnel. Makes bleeding anything super easy and don't cost all that much.
Great video! No nonsense, to the point, and you have a great way of explaining what you are doing! Thank you. Is this pretty much the same for the 5.7 Hemi V8 ?
Yeah I bought it and turns out it doesn’t fit the 2015 dodge Durango. Gutted out the entire old one and couldn’t even get it replaced. Even tho autozone said it was the exact fit🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️
That's about right. I did the radiator fairly easily, would have been about 5-6 hours but I did the water pump too which took another few hours, hell just cleaning the mounting surface was an hour of scrubbing away with a scouring pad. 2ith the right tools it would have been quicker for sure.
How do I tag LJs Garage? The engine antifreeze/coolant SHOULD NOT BE RED!!! That is the wrong antifreeze/coolant for the vehicle. He needs to be using a HOAT Antifreeze/Coolant which is either orange or yellow. A red coolant is most likely OAT which is not the same as HOAT.
@@LJsGarageyes you used the correct coolant which is the OAT coolant, he's referring to the HOAT coolant which was used in model year 2011-2013. He doesn't know what he's talking about, you're all good dude. Thanks for the awesome video, I'm about to tackle this tomorrow.

Finally a quality video on this. Thanks LJ
No problem! Good luck
Just got done replacing my radiator. Thanks for the great video!
No problem! 👍

My pleasure!
Thank you never really touch a jeep before ❤ got it done 🎉
Happy to help!
Love your calm voice
Much appreciated my friend 😁
Super helpful. I have a 15 eco diesel that decided to have an oil cooler fail and will need to remove the radiator for cleaning or replace.
Glad it helped!
Perfect, thank you 😊 that was so informative and lets me know what to tell the mechanic.
Glad it was helpful!
I just did this. Just a tip I didn’t need remove the entire top molding only half and used a bungee cord to hang it on the hood connection.
Thanks for passing that on for others!

Well done glad you got through it!
Great detailed video, I'm gonna subscribe to your Jeep content
Awesome thank you! Hopefully not too much more haha other than the basics
@@LJsGarage I'm actually from a Jeep dealership but non certified, I removed the bumper for the job
I did it in a day but didn’t bleed air out the system .can I simply just bleed the air out now like you demonstrated?
Way to get after it, and yup sure can!
Great video. Doing right now. Tip for next time, include tool list in description would be a huge time saver. Thanks though!!!!

I was looking for the part number you used - soooo many diff radiators available online it seems. Thanks in advance...
Glad I could help and yeah it was a mess and people say the HD vs non-HD isnt a big deal but I couldnt ignore it
WHAT A GREAT DIY VIDEO. DEALER CHARGING $3,500 for this repair
Ouch! Hopefully you can get it done

Glad it was helpful! And essentially the same
Where’d you get the part ? And can you drop a link?
Autozone If I recall Duralast Radiator B13200 and there is an SD/HD so whichever

Im with you...I have a love hate relationship with this vehicle
When will we ever learn lol
Is there much difference for the radiator removal / replacement on the wk2 3.0L diesel?
Nothing major that I know of.
How many hours did this take you to do from beginning to end?
Took me about 3.5 hours and another .5 hr to bleed and fill
Gotta get better .. shouldn’t take no longer then an hr
@@nomannerssrtheyyy look it's mr. armchair!
How many gallon 50/50 or concentrated
I believe from empty it holds about 14 quarts
Thanks I'm switching from that dexcool stuff and going to prestone
What year is this car
2014
I just got mine done and the water pump was so expensive and I kinda wish I did it myself.
I can imagine oof. I did think to do that while I was in here lol hope it lasts
What did it cost?
@@benrodriques I don’t remember anymore
What coolant is best recommend for this car ?
Mopar is what I stick with not too much more than the AutoZone stuff
Zerex G05 is the same as the Mopar but clear instead of pink.
Wish me luck going to use this video to replace mine
You got this!
Oil pump next and rocker arms and electronic power steering unit
Oh man those are no fun 😬
Thanks g
Anytime man
What the diameter of the plastic clips.
I got charged 5.5 hours of labor for this (they changed the thermostat too) somebody be honest how much did I get over charged lol
Not too bad honestly. Maybe an hour over what it takes so 100-150 over
Calls for 3.8 hours.
Some places change the thermostat and hose along with the radiator to cover there behinds
