I’m bingeing on Simon’s videos tonight. I really like that his yard is so healthy and ialive with birds. Simon seems to do a lot of things. He’s a carpenter, a historian, a canoe builder, a sailor, a hiker, a camper, a tent maker…and a good campfire cook. Well done, Simon. Thanks for sharing…from an old man in the US, hills of east Tennessee.
A small tip from someone who worked in a pizza shop , brush a little olive oil over the base all the way to edges , before you put the tomato etc on top . It browns it nicely and makes for an even crunchier crust 🍕.
Omg he bakes as well!!! Stuck in continuous lockdown here in Ireland and have the tent out in the garden to allow us to feel that away while on annual leave. Stay safe everyone and thanks fir the inspiration of these videos!
Looks delicious! This brings back a fun memory from many years ago. I took a large group of friends to Antelope Island in Utah's great Salt Lake. We hand mixed homemade dough and put everyone to work making custom pizzas and cooking over charcoal in 14 inch dutch ovens. We ended up making 16 pizzas! We ate and ate on that beautiful summer night with buffalo and other wildlife wandering near us. We woke up to pizza leftovers for breakfast! I'll never forget that, one of my most memorable pizza cooking adventures ever! Thank you for the happy reminder!
Whoever dislikes these videos needs to grow up, top bloke and really informative especially as I’m currently training in the army so it’s good to get knowledge of someone who actually knows things like and your whole charisma and attitude never fails to put people in a good mood
i searched for dutch ovens and hit the jackpot when i found Simon baking his campfire bread in one and I 've been hooked to a bloke in the woods ever since hehe
I've hanging on looking out for your next video to help keep my (and everyone else's) spirits up. Brilliant as always. Massive thanks from the bottom of my heart.
A big thumbs up for proper weights, no nasty cups or grammes thank you! Dutch Oven pizza is always good. Doesn't matter if it's in the wild or the back garden. Nice one. Best wishes Al
Wow! Simon please! ANY time...weather...place or situation is always perfect for US to enjoy time with U! No such thing as the worst time to film!!! LOL! Looked easy and sounded amazin!! TY... Blessins to U, family and Maggie!! Stay well...
Hey Simon, used your pizza dough recipe the other day. It worked perfectly, we had a wonderful evening cooking pizzas. I certainly will be adding it to my camp recipes. Thanks to you from Australia.
You deserve a hearty Bravo for Bushcrafting in the yard! Hope you’re staying well. I live in the Louisiana bayou country. I can get out in my kayak and sail on a few of the lakes. You’re a good bloke in the woods.
Thanks so much Simon. Whether it's your outdoor pizza or canoe adventure with Maggie dog your posts are always "comfort food" especially during these lock down days! Re-visiting your previous posts just reinforces the wonderful world out there ! Thanks again for your time. Mark & Diane "Happydale" (2hrs. above NYC) Hudson Valley, NY
Simon..... FANTASTIC VIDEO !!! SIMPLE INGREDIENTS IS THE BEST... LIKE A GREAT NEAPOLITAN THIN CRUST.... FULL OF FLAVOR........ DAMM NEAR FELL OTTA MY CHAIR WHEN U SHOWED "TOM'S" SLICE.... 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙 FROM CHICAGO IL. !!!!!!
Definitely, a trivet/meat rack is a required item for Dutch Oven cooking. Good for you to mention how your bread was burned without it. Fortunately, I saw videos that taught me their value before baking chicken in my Dutch oven.
'If it ain't raining...we ain't training?' in a 'woodsy' corner of your garden, you can do anything you could do in the woods or in the field...except for the longer pack in and out. Great tutorial, with the pre-baking of the crust being important for the Dutch Oven. Love the sounds of the thin and crispy crust.
Simon I don't want to tell granny how to suck eggs, but you forgot to let the dough rise a 2nd time b4 baking. We live and learn don't we. Great video as always , love you stuff Simon, Top class channel, you really do deserve more subs. Love your stuff mate.
Lol...I was just about to ask about Mags....and there she appears! ♥️ Sweet girl. The pizza looked so delicious Simon. Your food always does. Thanks for braving the garden wilderness to bring us a video!! 🙏 Cheers and be well. P.S. Also, I really enjoyed the music! Great selections.
I’ve had an idea. If you want to help support Simon in these times start his play list at bedtime and turn the volume down while you sleep. Sounds cheesy but views help
I'm not gay , no , really ... not . BUT , I can sleep like a baby with a low volume of his shows playing in the background . He has that , je ne sais quoi about his voice . Like Morgan Freeman velvet sonics . LOL , I think I should record these episodes in case of an apocopes . I would miss your voice Simon .
Made these the other night although the missus wouldn't let me use the Dutch oven. I had a great idea - charred a few little bits of Apple wood and put them in the oven with the pizza. My wife's angry face appearing through the smoke with the alarm going off made it like a real survival situation.
I still remember when you made the baker tent. Glad to see it still works well. I'm thankful that many of you youtube bushcrafters are keeping up the videos as best you can during the Covid craziness. I for one really appreciate the effort and original ideas. By the way, thanks for the tip on Richard Outdoors. I like his channel too. Both of you are well rounded in that you have outdoor hikes and adventures, recipes and cooking and hot-to aspects to your channels that I learn from. I made my wife (she's the bushcrafter in the family) the same spice kit you have after watching one of your videos and checking out the video you suggested where you got the idea from. It works well Thanks, snd keep up the good work!
Hey Simon - When you cut that pizza , the crunch sound from the crust spoke volumes . A culinary masterpiece and a work of art . Thanks for the lesson and the recipe . Stay healthy & happy . Lefty in New Mexico
