I'm so excited for Focal Point.
Blue shift really did well with Xen imo so I'm really excited to see how this team takes it to the next level. They also have Black Mesa's Xen concept to work with so they have a huge headstart in environment design which hopefully should allow them to put a lot of focus into gameplay.
I would never have thought that the modification could be better than the original game, I had great pleasure playing through and the live play from the NPC, I’m still impressed! I replayed the game three times and each time with pleasant emotions. This is a real talent in game development, to turn an old and boring modification into something exciting, interesting and lively, many thanks to the developers, it can hardly be called a mod, it is a full-fledged add-on game and I hope it will be sold on steam.
PS: I'm sure your can make Xen much more interesting and not as annoying as in the original Black Mesa
How was it annoying in BM ?
@@FineWine-v4.0I don't necessarily share this sentiment, but a lot of people feel that BM Xen, particularly Interloper, drags on way too long, doesn't have very interesting combat, and focuses way too much on boring environmental puzzles.
Personally, I was a bit let down by Interloper's second half but I still thoroughly enjoyed it at the time, and I still do now.

Beautiful. And I'm starting to think that his chapter might be just as long the previous one as well as the xen chapter in the original Black Mesa as I would think that there is going to be way more in xen than just forests and fauna.
You've done amazing with this, looking forward to when Focal point comes out.

I know the chance of the devs seeing this is low but an idea I have is to give Barney a unique weapon like how shepherd has a monkey wrench. Instead of another crowbar Barney has a security flashlight like from Doom 3. I can even see it being used alongside one handed weapons like the pistol or revolver.
This desing is even cooler when in original BM... but I have big problems in Captive Freight, and this is just earthbound outdise levels... what about optimization in Focal Point ?
They said that they're working on optimization so

Не думал что мод сможет так сильно прыгнуть выше головы оригинала, получил огромное удовольствие от прохождения и такой живой игры от НПС, до сих пор под впечатлением, трижды перепрошел и каждый раз как первый. Это настоящий талант геймдева, превратить старую и довольно скучноватую модификацию в нечто захватывающее и живое, низкий поклон Вам за Ваши труды, это сложно назвать модом, это полноценная игра-аддон и надеюсь она однажды будет продаваться в стиме.
ПС: Уверен у Вас получится сделать Xen намного менее душным как в оригинале БМ
Ну так Blue-Shift это как бы и есть аддон к первой ХЛ , Ну а так да согласен, работа выполнена просто потрясно. видно что разработчики уловили суть как надо делать ремейки благо есть у кого брать пример, они уже в принципе могут спокойно игру продавать в Стиме, BMS в своё время тоже без Зена была и ничего подождали и получили, так они вообще конфетку слепили с него учитывая что в оригинале там кот наплакал того Зена. ещё конечно хочется увидеть ремейк Opossing Force (да я знаю что даже есть страница в стиме Operation: Black Mesa) но что-то новостей от них давно не было , ну и Decay конечно хочется , это вообще кооп игра по ХЛ с другом даже веселее проходить.

Very cool. There should be less Jungle flora however, i know its CC assets but it doesnt really fit half life, looks too much like Avatar biome. Something closer to valve's vision would be better, and the original Focal Point already resembles other CC assets and environments like gonarchs lair

Looks decent for now, for me I prefer the OG Xen concepts instead of the black mesa's Xen but I dont mind, I really like those amazing old labs of prevoius chapter (which is one of my fav locations of HL) so I will trust them for this Xen section.

Yo, In this Mod? Should Barney talk? Like in the original, He didn't talk but NPC's sounds like that they are Answering Questions from you while you are Silent. And People are trying to find out that If Barney from Half-Life 2 is from Blue Shift. But Barney somehow talked. Should Barney Talk? I know Azure Sheep remake did.
