With so many digital files getting lost over time by sometimes something as simple as incompatibility it always amazes me they were able to use the original files and adjust/re-render them for the multiple reboots.
I think the 2023 one might actually be done at least partly from scratch, a lot of the models are visibly different, the lighting is new (most easily seen by observing the shadow on the crane at the end), some things have different textures (the NNYPD cruiser at the end), but the actual motion of the models SEEMS to be the same so I’m thinking they still had the animation files but had to replace all of the actual models due to compatibility issues… or maybe they just didn’t look good when rendered at 4K. Who knows. 🤷♂️
@@MrMattimation I'm thinking they touched up the original files to bring them up to date and add new things (like the MOMCO building), the new lighting and cell shading looks way better!
@@MaherandIbrahimsAvengersThe longer version was cut into the shorter ones to fit in more time for commercials. That was just the cable TV meta at the time
I'm honestly surprised it took them so long to add Bender to the intro in some way. You can see many of the other characters but not him. He's not prominently displayed but he's there!
So glad to see that comedy Central how to put back on Futurama. Now if they would put the critic plus dr. Katz professional therapist, that would be even so much better.
I like some of the extra details in the 2013/2023 version, but man the OG version just looks better IDK. Everything LOOKS computer animated in the other 2, but this one looks like regular cartoon animation.
Is it really necessary to have the Hulurama thing in every episode? I thought it was just for the joke in episode 1 but no, they're really that pathetic.
@@ZirconiumPantsTeardown Because this is too much "in your face!" marketing. In Fox Era, they didn't shove Fox in our faces during the main title opening. The show is called Futurama, not Hulurama.

lol, that's what they want you to think. I promise you, every single cel of every single version is original.
It's a shame they made it so much shorter in 2013
They didnt
For some reason this video used the shorter version, a longer one exists idk why they didnt use it

I like the slight differences in the 2023 version - it suggests that the city has changed a bit between 2999/3000 and 3023.

some comedy central episodes have the longer intro, like the second to last episode, shoulda used one of those

It’s like we never really left.
Am I the only one who noticed in the beginning at the 2023 theme it sail Hulurama that makes them in Hulu?
Are we the only one who noticed in the beginning at the 1999 theme song like Futurama that makes them at Hulu or Netflix?
the intros being slightly out of sync is messing with my head

Love the new 2023 intro ngl , can’t wait for the further seasons !!! Writers did a great job

Even back then, it was obvious that it was CG
@@Wrenchy247 But it didn't LOOK CG is my point. The newer 2 look definitively CG, whereas the original looks almost classically animated.

The OG one looks..
Alot brighter to me
And i like it
why use the short comedy central intro when it doesn't line up at all with the other ones?
Just to remember that sacrilegious practice ever existed. I remember being similarly upset about them doing that to the Venture Bros intro
