    Anybody purchasing one of the new speakers?

    • @robognu5000

      I ordered the C3+ yesterday! I can’t wait to see it in person. I don’t know what L&R I’ll end up with yet, but I think it’ll be the T1+. I’m working on replacing all 7 of my klipsch towers in my 7.1(2).4 with Emotiva speakers. It’s been fun having all towers, but I wanted to try out ribbon tweeters. I got B1+ a few months ago and loved them! Four of them are in the room now as surrounds. I am never the one to rush out and buy a new product before any solid reviews but I couldn’t resist the C3+...

      @@robognu5000 That’s awesome bro! I’m still waiting to get the T3+ and C3+ for review. Are you using behind a AT screen or just on a stand in your theater? Def come back here and let us know your thoughts!

      I’ll get back to you ASAP on my thoughts! I don’t know how fast Emotiva ships them. My other orders from them took less than two weeks. I need to build a stand because it will sit behind my 150” DIY AT screen. I just built stands for my B1+ and they turned out great! Pine, MDF and acrylic, coated with Duratex with a hexagonal pattern and lit up internally with a Govee rgbic strip light, wrapped around a 1” diameter core. The base, upright and top connect magnetically.

      @@robognu5000 similar here, too. I bought the costco klipsch atmos 5.1.2 system off offerup for $400 with an included second woofer. It’s my first dive into HT audio. Its a fine system, certainly an upgrade over the soundbar i was using.
      The subs really did suck, so I replaced them with svs pb1000 pros. Such a huge improvement.
      But the center leaves a lot to be desired so just pulled the trigger on the C3. Despite the “poor” measurements of the C2+, people seem to love it. So I assume the C3+ will be even better.
      I’ll slowly upgrade to other emotiva speakers over time.

    • @hatoraidcowboy

      I havent seen the RC-64 in person, but the C3+ is the biggest home theater CC I’ve seen in person. Its basically a tower speaker turned on its side LOL

      Completely right... which is the main reason to avoid Emotiva as both c3 and c2 are terribly flawed. The c1 is the better of the 3 but there are much better options

  • @Em_Dee_Aitch
    @Em_Dee_Aitch 2 года назад

    Great review. Nice job! I’m highly considering the T1+s with a C3+. I’m wondering if anyone has an opinion about how much physical separation one should leave between the center and the towers. If I use a C3+, I’ll only have 3 inches on either side. If I go with the C2+ (which is still pretty huge), I will have 12 inches.

    • @hatoraidcowboy
      @hatoraidcowboy  2 года назад +1

      Thank you!
      3” is really REALLY close for your LCR to be that close to each other. You basically will have no separation across your front stage. I dont know if there is an “official” number for LCR separation as everyone’s room and situation is different, but I would say you need at LEAST a foot minimum in order to be able to discern any separation between your LCR.

    • @shaolin95
      @shaolin95 Год назад

      Avoid the c3 and c2.. Both are flawed centers with terrible lobing thus limited horizontal dispersion. If you want emotiva, their c1 is the better of the 3

      @@hatoraidcowboy I think you will definitely like them, my first encounter with AMT's was at a party back when I was in college in 1980. Someone had set up a set of ESS speakers with the original Heil Motion Transformers on top and I was blown away by how good they sounded. I had a couple other encounters with the original AMT's, I rebuilt a set of ESS speakers for a friend in the mid 80's, also in the early 2000's someone brought a pair to my house to measure the distortion for them and I was amazed at how low the harmonic distortion was.
      Jumping forward to 2013 I built a 2-ch system using the original Heil's. The things were initially just sitting on top, not mounted, and I dropped one and the darn thing broke in half! These things were $500/pr at the time so I was not a happy camper. Parts Express was out of them but they had this Dayton AMT-Pro4 so at the advice of a friend, I ordered a set of those to use until I could get another Heil. Turned out dropping the Heil was a lucky break... no pun intended, the Dayton's were, I though significantly better than the Heils. Also at the time, my wholesale cost on the Dayton's was only about $70/ea. I ended up selling my remaining Heil Transformer and never looked back.
      I'm using fourteen of the AMT-Pro4's in each main line for the new theater and ten for the center speaker. Fortunately I bought around 50 of them back when my price was in the $70+ range, now my wholesale price is around $149/ea. I wouldn't be able to build my big line arrays if I had to buy the drivers today. The 5" Dayton Reference drivers have also doubled in price. I wish I had bought another 100 of the 5" drivers before prices skyrocketed.
      Anyway, I prefer the AMT's in open baffle but I think the closed back version in the Emotiva's will also sound amazing. I actually heard the Emotiva's many years ago, I remember being impressed but I don't remember much detail. I wish I could have been home in Austin when the show was there.

    My C3+ is in place now. It took about a week to get to me in Northern Washington. The exterior box was beat up petty bad, but he interior box and the speaker were just fine. I built a stand for it and put four XL Auralex pads under it. It looks even bigger in person lol. A pain in the a to carry it upstairs with two turns and setting it on the stand carefully. I’ve done a few movies and several hrs of gaming with it. Still a while before it’s broken in, but my first impression is...wow. There is various menu music in GT7 that I’ve listened to a lot over the last several months. My old center (a klipsch KF-28 tower) was not giving me nearly the detail and the subtle little sounds. Oh my god I can’t wait to get my new L&R and re run setup after everything is broken in!
