    They all sound great but the RC-64 sound is huge and more detailed, the difference is incredible. I would definitely go with the 64 out of the three. I have an older Klipsch center speaker, the RC-7 along with the RF-7ll towers and I’m powering them with two 300 watt emotiva xpa 2 generation 2 amplifiers. They sound fantastic.

    I love that your are doing center channel video, not a lot of these AV channels cover center channel coverage. I personally feel that you should base your speakers, especially for an HT system on which center channel you like the best. I recently had a Klipsch system myself, Growing up Klipsch was the speaker I wanted. I ran the RP 600c as my center and the 6000f for my front speakers. I recently changed over to the SVS ultra bookshelves as my front speakers, mainly based on how I really enjoyed the SVS ultra center. The sound and dialogue out of the ultra center is amazing!! Anyway great video keep up the awesome content

      Yeah, we saw that there was an opportunity there to create some good quality content. We plan on doing more. Yeah we may do some SVS comparisons at some point. Just got one of the RP 504c can't wait to set it up in my system. I went with the medium size because I live in an apartment building and you can't play movies too loud
    but it's enough where the clarity and sound is there in my opinion should be a great addition to the 7.1 ch system.

  • @kevonmanuel
    @kevonmanuel 4 года назад +3

    I have a feeling if you measured the 404/504C's, you'll see a dip in the frequency response in the mid-bass and a rise in the treble. The RC-64III sounds like it has a flatter response from the low mids to the treble.

    • @DivineAV
      @DivineAV  4 года назад +7

      That's actually quite accurate. We deliberately removed all calibration from our receiver in order to get the most fair comparison. We calibrate every single DAV install and generally have to work on the mid-range frequency quite a bit to get the 404-504 to sound more balanced. The good thing is, when using something like a Yamaha 2080, we are able to pull those frequencies up and the speakers both respond brilliantly to those adjustments. Most of the Klipsch products and especially the rc64iii have a spike in the 8 to 12 K range. We usually let that fly because it creates that sense of clarity with glass breaking etc. The rc64iii without a doubt has a better balanced full range of sound. Thanks for watching and we always appreciate your input.

    The 504 is more refined than the RC64. Sounds like the crossover is higher on the 504, so slightly less mids coming through the horn.
    Having said that, there’s more clarity and energy in the 64 - especially on the vocals. And still refined enough to not sound too harsh. It would be a hard choice.
    I noticed this previously when comparing the old RC or RB line with the newer RP series. Something can possibly be missing when it comes to excitement. Both are forward heavy on the mids and treble, but I like the RC and RB series for some reason. Maybe not as clinical but the clarity on them is out of this world. Especially the second and third generation. Probably can find them way cheaper now too.

    Awesome demo but I'm am wondering how much of the difference is due to the distance to the mic and the off axis effect?

    • @DivineAV

      It was an Omni directional mic, and we had it about 3 feet away so it shouldn’t make a significant difference. But I can tell you that as you step up in the models, there’s definite improvement

    I have a different sort of question for you. I was looking for my front LRC. I am using Marantz SR 6015 and thinking of Dali Opticon 6 as my left and right. Dali has their own center for Opticon series but I felt Klipsch is much more clear in Certer stage.
    If I pair 504c will the speaker sound stages match? I know I am breaking the concept of same brand LRC speakers.

    • @DivineAV

      Yes if you could do three tower speakers that would be ideal but if you’re talking about mixing a different type of tower, I would prefer one of these units because they are a bit more dynamic in the mid range

  • @corndogggy
    @corndogggy 4 года назад +1

    The 64 doesn't have separate chambers as mentioned, you're thinking of the way the rf-7iii is built. The 64 is one big air space with a couple of window braces on each side of the compression driver, pop out a woofer or the terminal plate and you can see. They made the 7iii like that to eliminate standing waves.

    • @DivineAV
      @DivineAV  4 года назад +2

      Well technically we're both a bit correct, It doesn't have physical wooden Chambers and I should have specified that. Ours has vertical foam dividers that entirely separate the compression driver. Many of the earlier units don't have those dividers. It also has foam on the roof and floor of the speaker when you look through one of the driver's. We are actually in the process of modifying our unit to be a ported and true chambered design. In our preliminary testing we're seeing a big increase in low frequency response. Also experimenting with a crossover upgrade. We'll play around with that and bench test that new cross over compared with a full bi amp. Thanks for watching and I appreciate your input. I think this is helpful information for people. Stay tuned for more

    • @DivineAV
      @DivineAV  3 года назад +1

      @@poinkwagner Hey Paul, it's not necessarily that we prefer Klipsch in general, it's that we prefer certain products in their lineup. Their mid-to-high range products in the Reference Premiere and THX Ultra Series lineups are some of the most reliable and premium sounding speakers on the planet for the money. It's exceedingly hard to beat the "bang for the buck" that these products provide. Full range of sound, balance among the entire audio Spectrum, and unparalleled reliability. My brother and I both have them in our own homes and we have grown to trust and believe in the brand throughout the years of offering their products. Martin Logan and KEF also make good products and we support them when people request those units specifically. Thanks for the great question and we appreciate you watching
