Welcome back Trey! Here is the first of many compares coming at you in season two! We find many people spend a lot of time wondering, is it worth the upgrade from the 6000s to the 8000s...am I going to see that big of an improvement? ...We're here today to try and help you with that decision. Don't take our word for it though...make sure you hear them in person as...We will be the first to tell you (and we do) that hearing them through this video obviously won't give you the full story....but hopefully our thoughts on the topic will guide you in the right direction.
Tried something a bit different this go. Let the tracks go all the way through in the edit so it runs a bit longer than most of our others. We also put which speaker was playing through the entirety of the song as opposed to just the second half like we did in the first season. her's the clue. I have recently been listening to various klipsch speakers including the 8000 here. It is an awesome speaker no doubt, and the horns does it on all klipsch speakers. But my theory is that if you want full range with clearer mids, you should stay away from speakers with 8" woofers and above. They cant do mids that well, and it can never substitute a dedicated mid element. that is probably why they call them 2,5 way speaker and not three. I tested a propper 3 way today, and then went on to the 8000. 8000 has good sounding bass too it, but the mids feel more in the back. some guitar riffs I heard were ok. when switching to the other 3 way, the riffs became the star. much more punchy feel to it. So I though, yes it must be the mid, but tu test the other theory on the size of the element I went a plugged in a RP600M (which was available at the moment) , and there I gott a better mid again. same punch in the riffs.
So my conclusion is that if I want the best out of Klipsch without going bankrupt, I suggest a speaker with 6,5" or below woofers and an added sub. how ever a complete speaker would be the best way to go. It seems like double 8" woofers is so popular for a reason, and probably work for some music or watching tv. but detailed music needs more mids.
Thanks for your input. I know several people that would argue in opposite directions but to each their own. Love the 6000s and the 600s as well. Different overall sound but great sounds nonetheless.

Is 8000f a 2.5 way and not 2 way? A good 2.5 way have rly good mids . My jbl hdi 3800 is a 2.5 way, and the mids are awsome and they are well known for exactly that

Nice video guys. Might be the microphone, but the 6000 definitely seemed cleaner to me, and I own the 8000. Hmm... If I didn't get such a good deal on the 8000, I might reconsider. I wonder if the 8000 handle movies better but the 6000 are cleaner for music. Don't know. Was really surprised how well the 6000 handed the bass.
We were for sure impressed with the 6000s but, while the 6ks were awesome, I would probably still favor the 8000s for most things having heard them side by side. The recording, compression, and what you are listening on will play a huge part.

I have similar feeling, 6K sounds just a bit “cleaner” on video from my point. May be because of less diameter mid/bass speakers they are lighter and gives not so warm middle range?
It's so hard to tell on this. The way it gets compressed on youtube, and then reproduced on my speakers... who knows what it REALLY sounds like in person. Definitely the 8000s sound more muddled, but that could just be more bass washing out the upper mids in the recording... Idk. I'm a physical therapist. Not a sound engineer. I don't know what I'm talkong about.

I owned a pair of RP8000F's for a couple months. They were nice, but I ended up selling them in pursuit of other Klipsch. I actually found I love the KSP-300 and KSP-400. They are exceptional.

Coming through my Cerwin Vegas and Emotiva amp nice and clean with good bottom. BBBBBBB all the way. Bigger stage, more detail inside the recoring studio. Pulling them away from the wall helped with the room boom, and cleaned everything up.

If possible can you compare old generations (RF62II, RF82II etc) with new (RP 8000F, 6000F). It will be really helpful to see the differences with the improvements in design and your expert opinions...

I've heard a more open and detailed sound on "B" over "A" every time. If bigger is better then I want the Cornwalls.

Compared the 8000f to the old 620f and the differnce is huge.
The dynamic range is so much better.
Moving forward with each generation. Always stepping that game up. :)

Hello, wish speakers from Klipch have the deepest bass and dynamics the 6000F or 8000F??? i want to bay them but im verry intrested when they go verry low in bass and dynamics
between these two, the 8000s will dig the deepest in LF range with the larger drivers and cabinet. In all of Klipsch though, there are a few that go lower. RF7s is the next step up...or if you want the biggest and baddest, the Jubilees will dig to 18 but...they are kinda in a league of their own.

I liked option "A" better. I wonder if it is possible to make a mid-range speaker out of the upper bass speaker?, for example, replace or add something in the filter.
an aftermarket company did this, turned it into a 2.5 way design.
Some songs I recommend listening to off camera would be Breakdown by Tantric and Touch, Peel, and Stand by Days of the New. Great songs to demo!

Did you have the chance to compare them with some movie soundtracks off screen? I currently have the RP5000F and am considering jumping up to the RP 8000F. My main use is for movie watching.
It will be an improvement well worth the money.
We did, yes. Had several movie nights with them and they did a great job. You won't be disappointed with the upgrade.

Thank you very much Trey and Jason for taking the time to reply. I, John Hill, did go ahead, after your responses, and order the RP 8000fs from Cory. They sound great already and I haven't even changed any settings yet. They sound "much fuller" than the Rp 5000f. I don't know if that is the proper description . I am no music expert. Lol. Very happy with the upgrade.
Good video. I learned quite a lot. So I can move the rp 6000f with 40 watts?
I used to use a 45 watt Marantz receiver, you'd be surprised what they can do. Most people don't use the kind of power they think they do. Only time it really becomes an issue is running speakers full range with all channels driven in a bass heavy blu ray such as a Metallica concert. The kick drums and whatnot require more overhead than what a small receiver can do.
I wonder if using a subwoofer for this demo would change that disparity.
Thanks for watching! Adding a subwoofer is going to make a huge difference in any system for sure. While these videos are speaker vs speaker with no sub in sight, I would recommend a sub to pair with either set to take some of the heavy lifting off of your mains and have a dedicated unit for bottom end.

Thanks for watching! They are about 8 to 10 inches away from the wall which, is typically enough. That said, every room is different. Always move things around and play with the setup to see whats right for your environment. :)

I've got the Rzp 280s had these since 3/2016, love them. But I've been wanting the RF 7s for about 3yrs now. Just afraid there to big for my place. What's your thoughts ?
Yes, the 7s are large. That said, if you already have the 8ks, the difference in the actual footprint isn't that big, especially when you consider the sonic gain from the step up. Go for it :)

How would you compare these to the 90’s KLF-30’s and i am talking mostly in terms of stereo music lisening
If you can find a pair of the 30s still in decent shape, they were great speakers! Can't really go wrong with any of these options but price and availability may be a big factor to consider.

In this video we were using the NAD T-778 which does a great job in the receiver department and handles both of these pretty well! Could always go the separates route and get a bit more umph but if you're wanting to simplify, there are several receivers out there that match really nicely with these.

Would you pair the RP-6000F II with RP-404C II or RP-504C II center speaker?
I always tend to lean more toward the larger unit. Can never have too much center channel in my opinion.

I'm a rock and heavy metal fan...mostly listening to thrash metal.....which one would you recommend for so eone with my taste in music?
Honestly, both/either would do great. I tend to lean more toward the 8000 for the extra extension but the 6000s definitely held their on when we put them side by side.

Have you listened 8ks in your room before upgrade?
As a suggestion, I would spend some time listening to your 8000f before doing the gr mods. He takes measurements at 1 meter, and the response issues that he refers to are not present at normal listening positions. They were tested as very linear by audioholics at normal listening positions. But gr cant or wont show that because then theres no reason to buy their product.
Would you buy the new 6000’s 2’s or the old 8000’s?
I'd save up and buy some RF-7III's myself.
According to the Klipsch website, there seems to be a piano gloss version of the RP-8000f, yet I can't find them at stores in my area nor can I find them online. Have they been discontinued or is there some trick you need to know to get these?
There was a Piano black, yes. It is more difficult to find though, as less were made in this finish/it was a more limited run. New may no longer be an option but if you reach out to Cory on the Klipsch Owners Facebook group, you can see if he has any other options available for these.

I've had the RF-62's for 10+ years. Still sound good to me. Would it be worth it to get the 6000's. Any improvements the last 10-12 years. Thanks.
I think if you are still enjoying them, that speaks for itself. Each generation has improvements and upgrades but the only way to say for certain if the upgrade is worth it is to go hear them for yourself. See if you like the changes. :)

Wow the 8000’s sounded terrible to me. Very nasal compared to the 6000. Like the 8000’s had some serious cabinet resonance going on.
