My girlfriend bought this for herself and takes it to work regularly, not only that but the entire family has been enjoying it. What it comes down to is that if you consider your labor as an expense to any degree in the cost of a DIY E-bike build you can have this Jetson Bolt Pro for cheaper then a DIY build. However My DIY Built Electric bike does go twice as far per charge and has twice the top speed. So if you are looking for more than 15 miles of range at 15 MPH this isn't the right bike for you. I think I prove in this video that this Folding Electric Bike is more then adequate for getting around town. On my range test on the Jetson Bolt Pro Folding Electric Bike I got 10.1 miles of range at night with the headlight on despite me being a person who exceeds it rated weight capacity by a few pounds.
Hey Ben, be sure to buy slime and put it in your tires! Apparently this can prevent from having to fix flats for up to two years! And apparently having to fix a flat on these things is a pain in the ass! Slime is cheap and it helps to prevent flats and also if you run over something that puts a small hole in your tire it will be self-sealing, with Slime in the tires!
Ben, FYI, just wanna let you know I’ve charged my Jetson Bolt Pro, many times, even a few times when it was completely depleted, and it’s always been fully charged and the light turns green, in just under four hours! Usually right around three hours and 50 minutes!
At the time I made the video I had always walked away from it and never notice how long it takes to charge I just didn’t believe it could charge so fast. Thanks for the fact check. It really does charge up nice and fast.
Get a Cloud 9 seat! I own three of them, two of them with a Suspension seatpost! Also two of them have the hole in the center, and one without the hole in the center, and they are the most comfortable bicycle seats in the world! There’s even a RUclips video of a guy that put on over 2 to 3000 miles on his, and he shows the seat and there’s not a thing wrong with it, no visible wear and tear, whatsoever, except a little rust on the back springs from water! Fantastic ebike seats, made for ebikes like the Jetson! I, rode over 20 miles one day, on one of the seats, and had no sore butt, whatsoever!😀👍👍
You said, "Flat earth guy" and I wondered "Is this guy in Denton?" Electric Bike revolution! WIth inflation and gas prices, pick up one of the and save money and have some fun! I need an inexpensive bike to get around town and commute to work. I am wondering if I will feel need to upgrade to a more expensive bike when I can.
Yes the flat earth Denton guy. 😂. You probably will want more bike before long if you buy one limited to 15 mph. My bike just starts feeling fun at 20 mph. Around 30 mpg it starts to feel like my life is at risk.
At the present moment Ben, I own two Jetson bolt pros, and two of the Jetson Haze ebikes! The Haze ebikes are brand new, and one of the Jetson Bolt Pros, is brand new, and I will be giving the older Bolt Pro, to a brother of mine, once I swap everything over, from the older Jetson bolt pro, my “BATCYCLE!”, (decorated it, with a Batman theme), to the new Jetson bolt pro!
Enjoy. I haven’t finished the video yet but the portability is fantastic. Great security, storing it in the car instead of on a rack. Also, great for riding with kids, if you buy a little seat.
There is 3 same bikes with different branding on them - 'Jetson', 'DYU' and 'Kugoo' I have 'Kugoo' Kirin V1 which is same like Jetson Bolt Pro but has 48v 7.5Ah battery (20A max), 48v controller and 400w motor but chassi and else is the same. From youtube Jetson goes up to 15-16 miles, I'm 95kg (210 pounds) weight and Kugoo carries me at max speed of 35km/h (21-22mph). Kugoo had preinstalled suspension seatpost but it was 300mm (11.8 inch) which was too small for me so I got 400mm (15.7 inch) suspension seatpost.
Hello, could you please provide me with detailed information, regarding the type of pump that you plugged in and you set to 35 psi setting, and filled your tires with? I am looking for a nice portable little pump and this one looks really nice! Thank you and have a nice day! Good video by the way!
It’s a slime branded 12 volt auto air pump that I bought from Walmart while I was in desperate need for compressed air so I could inflate tires on my riding mower while I was at my family farm mowing. I think it’s called a “Slime Heavy Duty Elite Digital Tire Inflator” it was around $50-60. I’ve used it for several years now and it seems to hold up well. The deal is that companies like slime are a brand and don’t make any of the equipment that gets branded by them. So don’t think this is an endorsement for slime branded stuff. This particular air compressor has just so happened to turn out to be a good one.
@@BenHuttash Great Ben, thank you very much for the information! I, will definitely look into getting myself one of these pumps! If, I can find one! I’ll check out Walmart first, maybe Amazon carries them! Also, I, wanted to mention, that I too, am around the 270 pound range, and that I also get around 12 mph and probably about 9 to 10 miles in distance before I need to recharge! I, never drain the battery completely, because you’re not supposed to, it’s very bad for the battery, so, just giving you a heads up, always leave some power in the battery, when you’re going to charge it next, never completely drain it! Thank you very much for the info. HAPPY BOLTING! I, TOO, LOVE ZIPPING AROUND, ON MY LITTLE BOLT! I, did mine in a Batman theme! I call it my BATCYCLE! Be sure to do a RUclips search on Jetson bolt pros, there are literally hundreds of RUclips videos on this little Ebike, including every video you could possibly want to learn how to repair, upgrade, speed up, add an external battery, for greater range, or fix or replace anything on the bike, and if you look under people’s postings and information posted under their video/s, you can find out where to buy all the parts for everything! This little ebike has a total cult following! There are literally thousands of people that ride these things! Also, don’t forget to look into the Facebook group, for the Jetson bolt pro! I, Myself, have added over $600 worth of add-ons upgrades and accessories to my Jetson! I’ve also done over 200 hours of research on the bike itself, this includes watching basically all of the RUclips videos, a few of them several times when making upgrades, such as the battery! One last thing I still need to do to the bike, is to upgrade the speed by purchasing a new controller for it and installing that! Some people claim to get a speed of 18 mph once they’ve done this upgrade! Of course this also depends on a persons weight and where they are and how they ride the bike! Some people may only get about 16 or 17 mph, but then again that’s still faster than 12 isn’t it! That upgrade, I will do it eventually and it will be the last thing that I do in regards to upgrades to the bike itself! Take care and have a great weekend!
We got this one from Costco months ago. It was before tax In The $330s and much cheaper then anywhere else we looked. Shop around and don’t settle for a high price.
Agree! I paid 423.00 dollars for mines that included shipping and tax so the cost has gone up! I just got mines a few days ago from Costco. Not sure if it would have been cheaper if I was a Cosco member.
LOL I know. But that app I was using still showed some speed after I quit walking the bike around. I was just trying to point out that the numbers it would report after I ran the battery dead on the bike might have some margin of error to it.
So far so good. When it breaks I’ll make a video on repairing it. Most of the ebike tech has easy replacements to be found on eBay and Amazon. It seems like there are only so many ways you can make components to control a 3phase motor. It does suck that so many ebike parts aren’t made to last and only get you out of warranty. Thanks for the heads up on this problem.
@@BenHuttash I am interested in purchasing one for myself to ride on the beach. I am not tech savvy but was wondering if it would be a waste of money if I have to find someone to fix it.
@@myahmyah Too bad US don't have Kugoo Kirin V1 which I got for same price it has more powerfull motor (goes 10 miles faster than Jetson for women and 5 miles for guys) bigger longer lasting battery with higher voltage and comes with suspension seatpost preinstalled aswel as seat with springs like Jetson.
I’m surprised to read that. That hasn’t been my experience. We’ve had ours just short of a year and it’s been a great addition to the family. No substantive failures. Costco had sales and clearance prices that were wicked. $269? No room for complaint.
You can take of the tag because back then they would put rotten food and dead animals so they put that so the people who make it know although it is not illegal for the buyer to cut it out
It’s a slime brand that I bought from the Walmart. Called Slime Elite Heavy duty tire inflator. It’s says it can handle large 4x4 tires but it doesn’t like it at all. One large tire from flat to the rated pressure on the inside of the drivers door will work the pump so hard that the rubber hose will burn the hell out of you. Car tires and bike tires it just barely gets warm.
The box says it’s only rated for 250lbs but I’ve been braking that rule for most of my life. Lol. It does get up to speed much faster with my girlfriend or daughter riding it around. For quick trips around town it’s fine but if it was going to be your everyday bike you might want to spend more money and get more bike.
It is a tiny little thing. Fits my nine year old perfectly. It’s a big compromise for sure but it fits in the trunk of a car. We went to a music festival and parked on car real close before the festival started and then used this bike to run back and for the car we would drive to the festival everyday. That was nice.
Yes, you could spend thousands of dollars on an eBike ruclips.net/user/postUgkxUiL0GnyDjP32RJdd660sP8mZk4CRLTCJ and get something much higher quality. However, if you're looking for a basic model to try out eBiking this is a great choice. The assembly is easy as far as bikes go (took about an hour for me to do, I'm not an expert). All tools needed are included. I added the plastic mud guards you see and a more comfortable seat. The other reviews are correct that you're probably going to want a better seat (Giddy Up! Bike Seat is what I got - super comfortable). The battery easily handles a 2-4 hour ride if you add some of your own pedal power. I haven't even gotten it up to top speed yet - it is very fast. Components are not top of the line, but decent for the price and work just fine. It works great on dirt roads and singletrack and pavement although too heavy to do tricks or any serious technical mountain biking. I'm looking forward to using it a lot over the summer. Tons of fun!
