Received mine last week. Worked out perfectly. The time consuming part was to disassemble the old back plates. Installment of the two new back plates was done in less than an hour. Thanks for the upgrade, it seems to work flawlessly 🤩🤩
Wanted this so badly, up until now only one company made a bag that just clipped on, no adjustments needed but this is good. Lonerider bags are good and strong.
I bought the touratech racks and then bought the lonerider motobags. As shown above I needed to completely disassemble each bag and move the locaters. I had to remove the stainless offset spacer on the right side and reinstall the quicklatch on the central vertical slots (not the holes) without the spacer. It was then vertically adjustable and a good fit was finally achieved. I did the same on the left side, but that is where things went wrong. The moving part of the latch hit the support rail on the touratech racks and could not be locked or secured. The plastic bumper on the latch MUST be in the center of the plate to prevent the whole thing from rocking and possibly falling off, so relocating the latch one slot forward is not safe. I eventually had to modify the latch by removing about a quarter of an inch of stainless material both horizontally and vertically where it was contacting the support strut. If the latches were mirror images of each other I would not have had this problem, however they are identical. The bags are now mounted and secure after several hours and some carbide cutting tools.
Thinking a bit more about this. As a suggestion for the next version, if you could make the latch handle reversible so that the hinge mechanism could be either left or right, it would create more flexibility and would enable one to move the hinge to a side where there might be no obstruction.
Feedback: 1. After adjusting my backplate to my Heavy Duties-racks, I noticed that the material on both the RL0008, RL0009 and RL0010 didn't held up to the tension when bolting the nuts. Just as I felt some resistance, the nuts followed around. No biggy, because I fastened them, but if the material was a bit harder, this would'nt happen. 2. As the LR0010, the LR0011 should have double grips, if they break. Then you can turn them around, if needed. Other than that, I love them! Haven't had the opportunity to ride with them yet, but looking forward to it! 😁
i fitted the panniers to the Outback motortek X racks, you just have to remove the X bracket and use an angle grinder to cut off a bit of excess framework for the lock to work, problem i came across was removing the bag from the backing, 2 of the nuts were too tight and spinning in the plastic, luckily on the same side so i could get to the back to adjust the lock etc, those inside backing plates should be aluminum so this doesn't happen , other than that they are awesome
Just bought a pair of motorbags for my new 1250 GSA, and they're supposed to be set to fit straight out of the bag, but they don't. I just cannot get the clasp down over the bar using all my strength.
I am having the same issue on my 2021 GSA mine just arrived I need to push very hard down on the latch to get it locked, if I don't lock it does not latch, in the video it looks like you just push against the bar and it latches @lonerider do I need to adjust or is it the bars on the 2021 model?
@@knotzer1 I think it's the bars on the 2021 model. On my bar where the latch goes into, there is a small bump under the bar. I don't know of that is making it difficult to close. I loosened the latch abit.and now it closes easily
@@roddie1154 Thanks for the help, i will take a look, if you loosened the latch does it not run the risk of the screws coming lose with vibration ? Cheers
I ordered these for my 2023 gsa. One had a lot of play in it. It seems like a criminal understatement to say it was a whore from another dimension to get these to work.
I have this exact problem. Did you find a solution? The bags are sold as fitting straight out of the box. I didn't expect to have to get a file out on my luggage rack to get the product to fit.
You didn't show how to attatch the bag on the muffler side without the spacer. I don't understand that. You removed the spacer that is needed on the muffler side but didn't show how it fits without the spacer. I'm confused. What am I missing here.

I had to do something similar. That was disappointing

That was such a great, clear explanation. Thank you!
Good afternoon, is it possible to install the sw motech bags without the original plate in this system for outback motortech supports?
Thanks
Good explanation, thanks Andrew
I am patiently awaiting my quick release kit, appreciate the video....
Hi Dave, Andrew here. We are sending them out now, keep an eye out for the tracking number. Cheers
Me as well. Ordered and paid in April and looking forward to what appears to be a great system for my ‘19 GSA

Hy Andrew, nice vidéo,
But why another black plate for the quick release? We can't keep the first one?
Thx
Would these bag fit with the Royal Enfield Himalayan racks?
With which camera you film please?

Does it fit on Himalayan

Hey, I had the same issue now 😢 Did you find any solution? Please help.
Yes. Some 1250's have a large weld point on the pannier racks, run your finger over ot and you'll find it. Now file it down@@vishwatejaRV
Ingenious!!!
Excellent, impatient de recevoir mon kit afin de le monter sur ma Varadero 1000 de 1999 avec 134860 kms.
I can't seem to lock the latch. Looks like the latch can't fully close on my R1250gsa 2021

@Wan Roddie ALT Your right there is a weld with like a spot weld on the inderside of the bar.
@@knotzer1 probably could add a washer in the future. But so far no problems

Just got mine for my 2022 1250 GSA. It would not lock, because BMW has a weld ring that has to be filed down. I’ll post the fix on my RUclips channel.

@@Mark-yq1zr I had to file the weld and grind down the backstop. I did the later in stages until the it would easily snap into place.
I think i have exactly the same issue, i've been racking my brains but this makes sense. I have a brand new GSA and there is a weld in the way.
