Pufferfish: Nature's Greatest Artist?

  • The male pufferfish is a true artist, nature's greatest if you will; and his preferred medium is sand. His circular masterpieces are about 2 meters wide and can take up to 10 days to construct. Carefully positioned geometric rows of sandy sediment ridges are carved out and decorated with small shells and coral. That's a lot of effort to put into something that will just be washed away by the current. So what's the point of it all? How does a fish so small, create such large displays? And how are these circles able to decorate themselves?

Well, if you go to a public school in the U.S.; that pufferfish undoubtedly has greater intellectual capacity and a more critical mind than your teacher as well ...

So, there's some beaver work going on here? A 25% reduction of turbulence is a good thing to have in a nursery. Engineers take notice!
