- We have a very easy and fun video today, a viewer asked me to talk about the best used sport touring motorcycles for the money! That's easy, as I love sport touring bikes and getting the best sport touring motorcycle to buy used is something I have a lot of experience helping with! A used Yamaha FJR1300 is the best value for the money in my opinion, but other great options include the used Honda ST1300, a used Kawasaki Concours 14, OR a used Triumph Sprint ST 1050!

Rode an ST1300 97k miles with never a single glitch; simply awesomely reliable bike. I would have bought another, but Honda kind of abandoned sports touring. I bought a BMW 1200RT to replace it. Worst mistake I ever made - it's for sale and I'm looking for a 2016 FJR. Back to Japanese reliability.

Never had an issue with any of the 5 BMW’s I ever owned. All purchased used (low mileage albeit). But, I can appreciate the desire for a perceived greater reliability. I dumped my Audi for a Lexus (although the Audi never gave me any problems for 60k miles). BMW bikes are more expensive to maintain but in my case, I can afford it. My R1250RS weighs considerably less than a bike like the FJR, the latter of which is supposed to be a nice bike. My favorite of all time was my K1300GT. GREAT motorcycle
@@your_royal_highness BMWs are probably the most comfortable bikes ever made, and their engines are capable of 3-400000km easy, but you'll often start changing clutches and shaft drives and electronics at a very high $$$ when they turn around 100000km (and sometimes before!) When you find a BMW for 4-5k$ its a deal until you start dumping thousands on it. You can get a 4-5k$ used japanese sport tourer that will just need the usual consumables (try finding a failed drive shaft on a concours for example).
2013 FJR13 owner. Got it last year with 25k miles on it, and I am in absolute love with this bike. Almost 10 years old and everything about it feels like a brand new motorcycle.

Just bought a 2008 fjr1300 it is a great bike love the power and smooth ride have installed footrest,relocated bars up and back along with a driver backrest
I owned a BMW K1200GT for eight years and sold it with 130K miles on it. I then bought a BMW K1300GT and kept it for eight years and put 100K miles on it. I now have a BMW R1250RT and plan to have it for quite some time. Both teh 1300 and the 1250 were used. Great bikes.
Not a Honda fan boi...but...my vote goes to the ST1300.
I rented one for a week long tour of Georgia/Tennessee/Kentucky/West Virginia...I was blown away.
Slow speed Porky-ness aside, the handling, the COMFORT, refinement, ease of removal and attachment of hardbags, electric screen, superb ergos, was a revelation... and did I mention COMFORT?!. Each day was an 8 hour in the saddle day, and each evening was a no aches, no pain, no stress, no fuss, no numb butt experience.
Very refined choice in a bullet proof, mile eating, SUPER-VALUE Sport Tourer.
Honda ST1300 = Speed + Handling + COMFORT. The refinement and proven reliability is bonus. OK...now I'm starting to sound like a Honda fan boi...
Police departments also like the ST.
As an owner of a 2014 Yamaha FJR1300, I could not agree with you more! I have the 5 speed and don't think a 6 speed is necessary. I love the factory electronic cruise control and saddlebags! Also, 300K miles on the engine is not unheard of. Regarding the Concours, it was never offered with factory cruise control.
The FJR is truly a fabulous machine. I miss it terribly.
Love my 2016 FJR1300. Highly recommend it.
I have a 2009 Kawasaki Concourse 14 and I love it. Super fast, reasonably comfortable and adequate handling. It's big, bad and beautiful.

ive got a 2015 and LOVE IT!!! my best friend bought one the next month. same 2015 in black just like mine.
I have a 2011 that so purchased new. The bike had to be lowered because I have a short inseam. Still very nice. I picked up a ST1300 in fall 2019 because it was the bike that I passed up for the Concours and it was surprisingly affordable. I love the range and the seat height. I miss the power of the Concours when on tours in the mountains. I don’t know what Honda was thinking with the orange digital display. It is almost never readable.
I've had a 2009 Concours 1400 for the last 14 years and 135,000 smiling miles. Just tires, brake pads, fluids, and 2 batteries. when buying tires make sure you get 190/55/17 or even 190/60/17- you will notice a new bike that really boogies with the Porsches..
Great list. The Concours 1000 was my first bike. Total beast. I love my RE Interceptor 650 but I still miss the C10.

I put 84,000 miles on my ‘02 Bandit, great bike. I have the 1250, and love it but miss the 1200.
Having ridden them all I would agree with just about everything you said - the Triumph has character, but I am older and it was harder on the hip joints - the Honda has problems with crosswinds 45 degrees from the front. The Yamaha has a natural feel for the road and is VERY easy to handle. Great video!

Alex, great video and analysis. I am on my 3rd FJR1300. I am tall at 6'3" and absolutely love carving up freeway traffic, country roads, and city errands with it. I always wanted to fly, thinking it would be the greatest combo of freedom and rush, but each spring I am reminded that driving my FJR1300 is probably better than flying will ever be.

When I was in the market, I ended up with a BMW R1150RT. I found it to be the most comfortable of all the Sport Touring rides I tested.
Very good choice indeed, I have always like the R series bikes, and am especially fond of R series GS models :-)

I am 5’6”, 155 lbs, 64 years old, and looking at used FJR and R1200 rt. Which would you buy if both were 2010 with 22k miles at $6500. I don’t love how heavy the fjr is and the wide seat compared to Triumph. With the Triumph, I am concerned about maintenance costs and reliability compared to fjr. I am NOT a grease monkey! Also, I don’t think I need/ want the fjr power. I have other bikes for that.
What is your honest opinion?

I wish there were more lighter/smaller sport touring bikes, wish I could do a VFR800 (esp that last gen) but I got an FZ6 and it’s pretty solid for touring so far
Back in 1987 I was 16, got my first bike, and remember wanting a Concours even back then. But now, I love my Triumph St1050. Unlike some others, this was a true sport touring video.

I am currently on a Honda st1100 and hanging on a loose thread between the FJR1300 & the st1300 as my next upgrade. The oil cooling on the older r1200rt puts me off the BMW.

I’m also a multi bike owner including the owner of a 06 FJR. Totally agree with your points.
One thing I should point out. I was once following an 08 edition Concours 14 on a nice stretch of curvy mountain road and that rider was able to whip the big Connie thru some curves like it was on rails. And I was aboard my Blackbird 1100 and not riding like an old lady either lol. Great review. New subscriber here.
OK, I haven't ridden a FJR1300. But my ST1300 is more than capable. Powerful, quiet, good weather protection, long range thanks to a 29 liter tank (19km/l hghway). Yes it's heavy, but it handles incredibly well. Having an adjustible windshield...bonus.
Love my FJR and I've never felt hindered by it only being a 5 speed. Probably the only thing I don't like about my FJR is that the seat is just a tad too tall for me. If I wear flat soled shoes I can't put both heals on the ground so I have to wear my work boots. Sadly I've dropped her a few times at a stand still because of that and had one high side thanks to some sand. But I've always made sure to get her fixed up. I'll ride it till it completely falls apart.
Honda ST 1300 .... fantastic bike... 45k on my 05.
Terrific video and you pretty much picked the bikes I'd be looking at if I decide to upgrade to something newer. My current ride is a 1988 Suzuki Katana 1100 with close to 115,000 km on it. This bike was bought new with Suzuki's optional hard luggage package and as such I consider it maybe the last true sport touring bike Suzuki sold. These GSX1100F's with luggage were rare because the option was pretty pricey. I think I'm the 7th or 8th owner so far and the bike's still in pretty decent shape for something 32 years old. The FJR1300 would be my top pick as well if I buy again, ... but I'm going to be 69 this month so maybe the ST1300 would suit me a bit better.
I enjoyed the clip. I currently fly and R-14 but prior had a ST-1300. R-14 for me is much better. As you mentioned one major difference is the power of the big 1400. Always nice to get that boost when needed. That triumph looks very interesting.
Great list of bikes. My Sport-Touring bikes are a bit older. 1990 FJ1200/1297cc Big Bore engine... 1990 VFR750... and 1995 FJ1200
Thanks for the vidoe, I am looking at the "list" of motorcycles mentioned, what I am trying to work out is the easiest one for a home mechanic to look after, as cheap old tourers will need valves etc to be done
Going from a Stratoliner deluxe to a fjr1300. The big twin bagger doesn't quite check enough boxes for me. Great review.
I own a "93" vfr, .. a "03" r1100rt, a "10" st1300 and a 83' naked Goldwing Sptandard 1983 all. Combined under $ 13,000 grand.
Financing is not the way too go.
Homework is. You can drive 800 miles to save thousands and get the bike you've dreamed of. Best one is the one I'm on that day.
VFR 800 in my pick , the bikes you mentioned are good as well.
I own a 1998 VFR800 with Helibars. I toured all over the western US with a set of Drybag soft saddlebags that I picked up from Aerostich. Amazing and affordable motorcycle to tour on with the only real flaw of a Rectifier/Regulator that would die about every 15-20k miles. I just let a 2003FJR go as I couldn't keep up with its maintenance, but it was also a gem. My main sport touring bike is now a 2013 Concours14 ABS. At 5'4", it is really too tall for me, but it is a very nice machine on the highway.
The problem is finding one. I can never find one for sale. Been looking for a long time, too.

@@jrobertsbrewer I've had a 05, three 07s a 14, all with well over 15k miles and have never faced the dreaded RECTIFIER issues. I did get the valves done on the 07 because that has always been a thing but the guy who did them said they were fine and when is took my first 07 to him, he kicked me out of the shop. OIL, TIRES & CHAIN is the only thing I've ever needed on mine and can honestly say Honda makes them to last.
Bar risers, extra heavy bar ends, grip puppies, double bubble and literally ANY other seat (stock is ass killer) and you can ride for days.
Good to see the 1050 Triumph Triple motor on this list in the Sprint GT, but the same motor was also used in the (US market) 2007-2012 Tiger/SE, which departed from the older bulbous ADV bike before it reverted back to ADV designs in 2013, and was a pure street machine. Think A taller, sport touring bike with more suspension travel like a Tracer 9 or an 1100 Multistrada, but with aggressive steering angle and more relaxed ergos than many on this list. This Era of Tiger would also make a great used sport tourer, and they can be had for pretty damn cheap on the used market.
You hit the nail on the head right out of the gate. I’ve owned several BMW R1200RT’s and one my riding partners rides FJR’S. I love my RT but dollar for dollar the FJR beats it and if my RT ever gives me a reason to look elsewhere I’ll own an FJR next. Another in our group rides a Honda VFR 800. We joke that the three bikes are all classified as “Sport-Tourers”. The VFR is more Sport, the RT is more Tourer and the FJR sits perfectly in the middle.
Love my Sprint ST 1050 - bought it used and it's the one bike I won't sell. Handles long rides like a champ - Northern VA to Key West FL and back every other year. Daily rider to and from work.
i love my st 1050 also. I feel its the better compromise than some mentioned. Great torque and handling.
Alex I just ran across this video. Very good content and spot on in my opinion. I have had a 2016 FJR 1300 and really enjoyed it. Never had an issue with it at all. I was wanting performance and comfort when I bought it and it delivered. The only thing that made me sell it was to buy a Triumph Trophy SE. It is basically the same bike with a little more front end wind coverage. It is not as quick as the FJR1300 but handles very well and keeps the wind off of my hands and shoulders better. The FJR1300 seems to be a little more refined than the Trophy when it comes to creature comforts and features. I have come full circle and and finally back on a Triumph Rocket3 Touring model and also have a R3 Classic as well. The R3 is a monster but has more comfort for riding 2 up and the power is unmatched. I cannot say that the handling is anywhere close to a sport tourer concept. Every bike has its own strengths and weaknesses. There is not a perfect one out there. You just have to choose what works for your budget and your riding priorities. Great video!
I have the Kawasaki Concours same color as your photo blue a 2017 and men its a ballistic missile so fast and comfy just love it.
Love my FJR1300ES. Put only 35k on it so far (2015) because Covid. Put about 20k on my Bandit 1250 before that. 400+ mile days are easy, and I'm ready to hop back on. Even hitting the back roads with some of the guys I know that do track, they're impressed. Also have friends with 2015 C14 and an older VFR800, and they love it, too.
A long highway stint before the real ride? A couple of buttons, and I'm on a couch for the slab, then stiffen it up for the fun parts.

Great video .I lost my baby zg1000 bent rod .Dalm float.but I just purchased a 2012 FJR 1300.I love this motorcycle so this video made me feel good about my choice especially cause I was always a Kawasaki guy.
nice video. If I had to choose the best sport touring bike, it would definitely be the Honda VFR 800. I haven't actually found one better yet.

Just broke 20,000 miles on my 2013 FJR1300. 3150 miles from NC to Maine and back. Love the 5 speed trans.
I've owned the 05 FJR and currently ride an 07 ST1300. Everything you said in your comparison is spot on in my opinion.

Hi Alex, I like your style so subbed, am riding a Z900RS and am looking for something more comfortable for longer distances for a 65 year old rider. I thought I wanted a R1200RT BMW but am rethinking. So many choices!
The vfr800 had factory option luggage. Love the sound when vtec kicks in! Definitely on the sporty sode of sport touring, but can still do several hundred miles in a day without too much pain

I agree with the fjr. I drove one for 250.000 km (156.000 miles) on a 2003 model and never had very major issues. Now I am on my second one. They are great. and you can get a lot of great aftermarket mods for them to make them more comfortable. Never missed the 6 speed. The Yamaha engineers never understood the demand for the 6 speed but did i anyway. So is you want to safe al lot of money buy one before 2016.

@@rogermoore7404 67K is just past the break-in. Do the regular maintenance and you should see at least 200K miles.
I own a 2013 FJR. You know where the demand for the 6 speed came from? Magazine reviewers and check box buyers. A check box buyer looks at the spec sheet:
Liquid cooling ............: Check.
EFI ..............................: Check.
Shaft drive ..................: Check.
6 speed transmission : _______.
"What? No 6 speed? I'll look somewhere else."
Have owned a aprilia futura. Nice sounding 1000cc vtwin. Currently own a kawasaki zzr1200. This thing just keep pulling while comfortable
FJR is an amazing bike. Fast, handles great, comfortable and it’s a rocket. Love it.

Just got off my FJR1300 an hour ago! Bought this bike a few months ago. It’s a 2012 with 3k miles on it. Paid $8k and love it! I had purchase a FJ 1100 new in ‘85! Then went to HD’s now that I’m in my late 60’s it was time for something less heavy with lots of performance! The FJR is it!

I listened to the end and you at least mentioned the 1200RT I actually had my pick of 3 (used) RTs when It came time to get back into riding a few years back. Of course the closest dealer to me? BMW. Yeah I probably could have bought the bikes you dived deeper into for a little less, but 5 minutes on the RT and I was sure it was "the one".
When I bought my ST 1300 I wasn't necessarily trying to buy a super handler, as it's about 700lbs but let me tell you, it is very capable. You just won't hear it from my friends 🤣
I had a 2003 that I bought used at 41k. I put a bit over 100k before I traded it on a new 2009 that had been in the showroom for two years because it was red. I put 84k on that bike. Loved it. I love to have risen an FJR. Never had the chance though I spent some time chasing one in Northerrn Arkansas.
I put springs in my ST's forks. It was great.
Can you please review the Honda PC800 Pacific Coast? I love the ST1100 and I also love the PC800 just as much, they are both in the same budget.

Great suggestions... you were on point with all. I own a 6th gen VFR800 and Concours 14. VFR is a great entry level tourer that when bought used almost always has bags with them, nice honorable mention. The 14's handling is remedied with a 55mil rear tire height as opposed to the 50mil stock, she leans over much easier is damn near telepathic. Anyway great video.
The 50 and 55 don't refer to MM but to the aspect ratio of the width of the tyre. 55 will be quite a bit more than a 5mm rolling radius increase. It will actually be 9mm.

@Live Jones in what way, you saying the 50 or 55 is a measurement in MM is wrong by a long chalk. Don't be a donkey and just Google it if you don't believe me. I worked as parts and accessory manager for a very large bike dealer where we sold 000's of tyres so think I might know more about them than you.
BMW K1200GT (2006 and newer with inline across the frame engine). The older K1200GT with the "flying brick" motor had rear seal and clutch slave cylinder issues that made replacing the dry clutch an expensive repair. They rode nice, but final drives and rear seal leaks makes them "no bueno."
I have an ST1300 and have ridden the FJR and Concourse, both are great bikes as well. I think the FJR is the better sporty bike but the Honda is a work horse, i have 65000 miles on mine and it has not given me problems. Im thinking about replacing it with the Kawasaki ninja 1000sx who knows. Great vid...

My favourite is of course the FJR but I do like but have never ridden the Kawasaki . I love Ninjas and R1s . I have ridden many Japanese bikes but I am open to all type's. Thanks for your views.

G'day Alex I've got a st1300,but before buying it I also road a Fj1200 , but let me tell you what a big difference between the two bike's the Honda so much better to ride, handling and comfort to another level

A cheap unassuming bike I found is the Suzuki GSF1250S with Givi hard boxes. Bullet proof motor and transmission. Great on track days. Wife and I did several 3 week tours of New Zealand s Sth Island she rode her Givi equipped Suzuki GSX650F. Enjoyed your clip thanks. Another Sports tourer I had was the XJRs predecessor the oddball GTS 1000 . It's handing smooth and no real slouch either.
Hi Alex, great video. How tall are you? I am 5'9" and found the FJR's wide frame splayed my legs a bit. I can feel that square seat on my thighs. How is it on a long ride. i have only ridden one on demos and that was the biggest thing i noticed other than the narrow bars. I really want to buy a 2016 or newer in 2021. Thanks in advance...
Bought a used K1600 GT and the killer power, handling and all day mile munching makes it a cut above. Maintenance costs are higher because of the valve adjustments and it eats rear tires for breakfast, but it has been dead on reliable - no issues. Close 2nd is an FJR 1300 or R1200 RS.
I have a GL1800, ST1300 and A 2014 FJR1300 My favorite is the ST1300 but it would need to have cruise control for long hauls! I actually think the ST is more comfortable, better ride and handling then the FJR the FJR is taller if your inseam is 30 and under! Also the the FJR to me falls into corners the IS HEAVIER but is much more neutral in the turns ! The GW obviously is the most comfortable for cross country riding and for two up but is one dimensional and not as good around town in stop and go traffic or in parking lots the FJR is much faster and just as durable as the ST and the cruise control on the FJR is a must to make it a decent Sport tourer but if the ST had cruise control to me would be the best all around sport tourer on the road and is just as durable as the GW I see much more ST’S with 200,000 miles plus then a FJR not to say the FJR will not put up the same mileage i just haven’t seen as many as the ST 1100/ 1300 i know of one ST1300 WITH 232,000 MILES and know of a few FJR’S WITH 60-80,000 MILES that needed a little work like timing chains or chain adjusters the ST’S would have coolant leaks in hoses ,gaskets and o-rings but overall more durable then the FJR but not by much ! My main problem with the FJR is it’s more taller and less comfortable then the ST and not as good for two up because it’s on the cramped side and is more on the sporty side with less comfort in my opinion. The ST does everything well and great for two up almost as good as the GW.
My sport tourer is a street twin with bags and sport fairing.👍
I've have owned 3 VFRs, a Blackbird and a Sprint 1050. Thinking of going with a FJR next. Just debating whether its worth the extra money to get a 2016+. Hard to give up the sound of my Viffer, 2008 6th gen, partially gutted exhaust.

Listening to this it sounds like a sport touring bike might be great to have. The styling just doesn't cut it for me and when I do get a bike again I figure it will just be for cruising for a couple of hours on the weekends.
To each their own, that's why there are so many styles of bikes hahaha! They are a fantastic ride, but for those that aren't "touring" it's overkill
I loved my 2007 FJR 1300, black cherry red but I foud it to be rather heavy My previous Triumph S/T 1050 fabulous machine but the seat never had worst. . .but a tripple 1050 heaven of a motor. .

It’s probably north of the target price range of this video but the BMW K1600 is a sweet machine. 160hp silky smooth inline-6 is a screamer. I love mine
So many options for all budgets. Don't be afraid of buying 20 year old bikes, they were great then and still are. Better still they're a steal. Personally, I've loved vfr800s, Honda blackbird, gpz900r and will own fjr1300 soon.
Been street riding since age 14, now 73. Amateur road race school instructed & county road self taught, w/ road rash & bone fracture electives. Honda ST1100 was last bike, recently, now have 09' Triumph Sprint S/T. Can't touch ground firmly & have L.U.S.T. Lowering kit to install on it. I chose the Triumph because it is more than 100lbs. lighter than the FJR , something that matters after my Honda fell over & had a difficult time picking it back up. Triumph looks better, and has a ''siren song'' coming from the triple motor playing through a 2 Bros. exhaust exiting under the seat. looking back the 2 weekend road race course was invaluable for this lesson : ''If you find yourself in a turn going too fast, lean more, you can always lean more than you think,& if you get off, you will be close to the ground rather than being launched in a high-side going off-road = injury''. My crashes have taught me -Slow Down.
I test road the FJR and I had a blast on that bike. Looking at the Grand America though. I want a big girl.
Hey Alex are any of these better for 2 up riding than the other. I find it hard to find information on the best 2 up touring.
SV650 with raised handle bar. Hauled passenger + 3 pillion bags + extra rufsacks (~25kg) on top of pillion bag, 4hour rides in the rain or shine from Finland to Norway and back (2000 kms) 😁😁😁
Have owned the following- 05 & 09 St1300, 06 & 2011 FJR1300, and 2012 & current 2016 Connie GTR1400- ALL have more than enough power, handling, and comfort mixed with awesome capabilities that 90% of their riders will never be able to tap into their full potential.. each has a little niche that's better than the other etc . I'm just an older guy who can never get the OMG factor of power out of my mind on a bike having owned Birds, CBR1000RR, VFR etc.. so I've stuck with the GTR.. insane how easy 140 feels.. just stupid fast. A close second for comfort and just WOW fun factor.. Ducati Multistrada 1200s.. amazing machine.

For instance my choice would be for the Kawasaki z1000sx, but there are some other used bikes as good. Nice video anyway. ✌️

Vfr1200F, awesome sport tourer.
Got my 2009 R1200RT-P from a guy who put a new clutch in and converted it to "civilian" model with 2-up sitting for $4000. Put $1500 in TFX suspension into it and it keeps up with just about anything until about 140mph. If you're technically savvy, ex-police bikes are a great buy since they are usually extremely cheap at auctions and they've been maintained like clockwork and usually been ridden hard so you know anything that would go out, likely already did and got fixed. You can usually get a full service record for them from the dealer. Mine had 24K miles on it when I got it, I now have 41K and it runs like clockwork. Best part, if it dies on me somewhere I can just walk away without being too much out of pocket. RT-P also has a lower final drive gear ratio so the pick up is a bit better than a regular RT.

At 2m tall (and previously busted my neck, back, knees & wrist via falls from XC MTB, horse riding & bikes nothing else fits the BIG TRIO PACKAGE : BRILLIANT BUILD QAULITY, SUPER AGGRESIVE PERFORMANVE ALBEIT SILKY SMOOTH DELIVERY & AMAZINGLY COMFY LONG DISTANCE LOUNGING. I needs! that power and cant stand be left wanting with sluggish "boring" performance.
There just is nothing I found simply as suited for an every day commuter that is a constant thrill, an ultimate long distance mile muncher and an uber comfy ride position.

A super small 17,8L fuel tank strapped upon a violently aggressive 174BHP torque monster shaft drive that opens up her other half at 8400 RPM as she starts spitting, howling & screaming as you fly through to 11000 RPM.
HOWEVER for the right dude- she is the purrfect package of reliability mated to never-a-dull-moment.
Interesting side note : Honda stopped the production in 2017 as the VFR 1200 failed to pass EU emissions test.
THE EU`s bureaucratic Dog Fathers regulated all ICE`s needs to comply with EXTREMELY LOW EMMISIONS output- OR we will SCREW you over with enforced installation of catalytic converters. To which, after a 45 sec meeting with Honda`s top level engineers the answer was: " NO!".
I have owned ST1100, ST1300 (10 years) ridden FJR1300 and the Triumph. Have not ridden the Coney. All are excellent for sure. BUT the king of the Sport Touring hill is the K1600GT. A true Beast. A little pricey but Monster performance and creature comforts. IMHO of course...
Absolutely Fred! The K1600GT is a killer motorcycle, I was just going for the more value-oriented propositions hahaha, the K1600GT I have not been able to find for anywhere close to the same price ranges unfortunately

Would the Concours be a good option for a taller rider? I'm 6'4 225. I'm getting rid of my VFR1200x because we (my wife and I) want something more highway oriented that isn't a cruiser. The vfr1200x isn't great for 2-up any distance over 200 miles.
I Ride a 2015 Fjr 1300 and wouldn't trade it for anything Love This Bike.

No better ST than the FJR1300! I'm looking at my second, a '15. I had a '16; it was a solid bike, most comfortable ride I'd ever owned and I'd buy another in a heartbeat but you almost can't find '16s used, ergo the decision to buy a '15.
Alex S., I like your list. I do own a ‘98 Honda vfr800 and I did have to order and install some Givi mounts for the used Givi E21 panniers. I also ordered and installed a Givi D200S touring windscreen to help get of the wind of my chest. I do love this bike, but at 50 years old, I might have to sell it. The other bike I have is an ‘07 Honda ST1300. It seems I am a fan boy then. I do enjoy riding this bike as well. I have no heated gear and in the PNW, the rain helps me decide not to ride to work. Mostly because of the other drivers on the road, not necessarily because of my riding gear. I have not ridden the FJR, the Concourse, nor the St 1050. I do want to possibly get the bmw r1200rt though.
Yes, the st1300 is heavy, but I wanted the shaft drive and powered wind screen. Yes, the vfr800 is at 515? Lbs and I have to lean more forward, but I wanted the single-sided swing arm and gear-driven cams.
I can’t say much for the other options on your list, save for the bmw. I do want to get one of those.

My favorite sport tourer is my Cadillac ELR. Hardy har har, I love my ELR.
The 2013 or newer is the best year's. Some of the engine heat issues were a lot better than the older ones. Also cruise and heated grips on 2013 and newer.
They are top heavy , you should be 5'10 or taller. I've put over 40k miles on my 2013 . Rock solid dependability. I haven't had as good as luck with my 2019 Goldwing. It had a porous cylinder head. Leaking just enough coolant that it evaporated before hit hit the ground . It sat in the dealer for 2 months. While I was in Texas for the winter. Good thing I had a 2018 1000XT vstrom to take with for 4 months. The GW got trailered home and is waiting in the garage.

I like the ST Honda. The V4 inline mounted eliminates one of the 90 deg gear sets, so closer to chain drive. And the cool factor of the inline V4.
FJR1300 is really-really a cool one!
