  • In Georgia, the Albany Police Department provided an update in the double homicide at Woodland Apartments. APD said officers responded to the Woodlands Apartment complex at 2611 Gillionville Road just before 2:30 PM in reference to a shooting on November 30. Upon arrival, officers found male gunshot victims.
21-year-old Neahmad Alfred and 21-year-old Tyler Graham were pronounced deceased. Another 19-year-old victim was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Police say Taverance Jackson is wanted for questioning and should be considered armed and dangerous.
In California, authorities announced the arrest of a suspect tied to four homicides in four days. 33-year-old Jerrid Joseph Powell was accused of following LA County employee Nicholas Simbolon 12 miles from an electric vehicle charging station to his residence in the 1800 block of Hawkbrook Drive in San Dimas. Authorities allege that Powell robbed the victim of personal belongings before shooting him and fleeing the scene.
Powell was later arrested by the Beverly Hills Police Department on November 29, 2023. Authorities now suspect Powell could be responsible for the slaying of three homeless men in Los Angeles.
In Idaho, a man has been arrested following an Amber Alert. An Amber Alert was issued for 10-month-old Zeke Gregory Best who was last seen on November 30, 2023 after allegedly being kidnapped by his father. Just before 9:20 AM, Bonneville County dispatch received a call from hunters on Kepps Crossing Road saying they had located a man in a sleeping bag on the side of the road making odd statements.
Upon arrival, Sheriff’s Deputies identified the man as Jeremy Albert Best who was wanted by the Teton County Sheriff’s Office for Homicide for allegedly killing his pregnant wife. Authorities say a black Chevy SUV was found down an embankment off the roadway nearby. Inside the vehicle, deputies located the body of Jeremy Best’s son, 10-month-old Zeke Best.
After receiving medical clearance, Jeremy Best was booked into the Bonneville County Jail.
In California, the Redding Police Department was dispatched to the 1000 block of Hartnell Avenue in reference to a two-vehicle collision with injuries around 3:15 PM on November 25. Upon arrival, officers found the driver of a 1999 Chevrolet Silverado trapped inside and unresponsive.
After being extracted, the driver was transported to the Mercy Medical Center where he was later pronounced deceased.
31-year-old Daveiontay Norwood was later identified as the driver of the other vehicle, a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado, according to authorities. Norwood was arrested and booked for driving under the influence of alcohol causing bodily injury, driving while license is suspended for DUI, probation violation, and related charges.
A passenger in Norwood’s vehicle reportedly fled on foot following the collision. Authorities say the preliminary investigation determined Norwood was driving at a high rate of speed when he collided with the 1999 Silverado that was pulling out of a public driveway.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the victims involved in these cases.
