- Last week, I had the unique opportunity to experience one of the biggest days in Gothenburg aviation history. After more than 40 years without a single scheduled transatlantic route, Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) finally started a route from Gothenburg to New York.
The check-in, SAS Lounge, and gate were all festive for the occasion, and the gate area featured key people in Swedish aviation, including a speech by SAS CEO Anko van der Werff.
Come along and see my experience traveling on the inaugural flight in SAS Go (economy), not only on the flight, but also in the lounge and during the festivities on the ground before the flight!

Very underrated video, I am going on this exact fligt in about 2 weeks and now I really feel prepared for it. Keep up the good content!
Thanks! Hope you enjoy it!
Thanks, I'm booked on AAL-EWR this summer, specifically to try out the A321LR across the pond. Hoping to try out more A321LR and XLR routes in the future as well.
Enjoy it!
Awesome video!! I'll be doing the EWR-GOT flight next week! Just subbed as well!
Thanks! Enjoy it!

Thanks for watching!

Veldig spennende!

👍
nice video. i prefer 2 aisle aircraft for transatlantic flights, for the extra space and wiggle room, having flown a couple times on the bergen-stewart route of norwegian.
Thanks! I also prefer two-aisle aircraft for transatlantic flights. However, knowing that this route wouldn't be economically viable with a widebody, I am totally fine with it. After all, a narrowbody flight is better than no flight at all!
@@dan.spotter1648 True. are you based in göteborg?
@@mendamend I am based in Göteborg and Trondheim
Before the blue curtains for SAS PLUS, what number is it on the chairs?
The last row of SAS Plus is row 22, and behind the curtain, SAS Go starts at row 30.
When the plane lands in New York, do you see Manhattan? And if so, on which side should you sit on the flight?
@@Yuzy86 unfortunately not, as the flights into EWR generally come in from the west, and Manhattan is east of the airport. You can, however, get a glimpse of some tall buildings from the ground at the airport.
4:29 oh look, nonstopdan!!
Yes! I met him and we had a nice chat together:)
We don't board aircrafts from the tarmac in the United States unless your in places like Florida or Hawaii where the weather is nice. When I was in Hawaii, someone asked our tour guide who handed us out leis by sticking his arm out and saying, "Welcome to Hawaii." asked the guide "why didn't we go down the tarmac and get a lei greeting." Response was, "well we have air bridges like your U.S. Mainland airports so no one get lei'd when they get off the plane."
Are you in rfs?
No, Im actually not!
