I've enjoyed your videos for quite some time. This one is remarkable for two reasons. For several years I lived closer than two blocks from the foundry in Berwick, Pennsylvania, where your box car prototype was build. I could watch each day's output in a small yard, waiting for pick up. I recall many paint schemes over the years. Second point, I am originally from Manassas, Virginia. It has been several years since I have been through with time to explore the many, many changes and additions to the city. Next trip, I'll stop by the store you mention

Hey Jason, great video! I’m also an NS guy, and I appreciate your NS focus. So many other O scale guys I see on RUclips have a hodge-podge of eras and railroads that take a lot away from the overall feel for the railroad. So you keep on buying that “plain-Jane” black and white and I’ll keep watching!
Being an NS fan I won’t roll my eyes. I honestly find it refreshing to see someone modeling specifically modern NS. And I’ll probably never get over the fact that you have the same GP38-2 #5660 that I have. I also understand the search for such a rare car. I just now finally got a good deal on a Premier PS2 Y6b, although the board is fried so I won’t get to enjoy it until it’s back from being upgraded. Spectacular video and congrats on getting the Atlas boxcar!

Congratulations on finding that Berwick boxcar! I entirely understand a while back I found a used Lionel MOPAC GP35 cataloged in 2013 and I was in seventh heaven. That is great looking SD50! Bill B.

The roadrailers you can put a few on your amtrak. I use to work on roofs. One building I was on was buy the ns track. I seen amtrak a few times
Something you might enjoy which I’ve done with my postwar Lionel layout but would fit well with a layout like yours as well
Look up Phillips hue color led bulbs
Wireless led bulbs that you can control from your phone and has different selections to easily do different sunset views, night time views and such
It looks really good and even got a friend to use it with his detailed Ho layout

And those who do not understand the importance of acquiring rolling stock to complete a series are never going to understand.
It’s more than just “those who die with the most wins”, it’s that sense of accomplishment after pursuing and attaining what you sought.
Getting that “one car” on “your” tracks is one of the most enjoyable aspects of this hobby.

Yes Jason that NS high cube box car is indeed very rare I haven't seen many in HO scale even I like NS too I hope my Scale AMTRAK AND UP AND BNSF LOCOS DONT GET OFFENded run what you like GOD BLESS HUGS FOR SHELBY STAY SAFE ;-)

Jason, anyone who wants to roll their eyes can buy what they want. This is your dream and you are making it happen! Hay like you said during the lionel catalog live stream. " what's wrong with an all black an engine fleet ". 😅 it's alright I'm also guilty of having an all Norfolk southern engine fleet. With only a couple non Norfolk southern engines in my collection.

I understand your excitement. It doesn’t always have to be a locomotive. The fun thing about train collecting is the hunt. The price doesn’t always matter when you want something that bad. It’s a great feeling once you find it and buy it. Congratulations on that find.

Not yet. I was tempted to order the new one from Lionel. I think it would be a great addition.
A lot of folks don’t realize the rarity of modern rolling stock. Especially Atlas O. Those boxcars even in TTX are almost impossible to find. Same with those 5161 hoppers. Awesome find Jason!
I did enjoy your video and I definitely understand your feeling about buying a specific road name - I do the same with UP, and I loved the new Hi Cube box car.

Great question. You're right, this new one is set up to run long-hood forward. However, I may swap the cab figures around to run it car forward. We'll see!
@@JDStucks I think NS rebuilt 50 or so of these, derating them to 3000hp, and classing them as SD40-3 - I think only the original NW SD50s were LH fwd, but I could be wrong. Your two together look great in consist though!

This was one of your best vocal presentations to date imo. Nice to see some Amtrak layout time. One thing that I think could use some updating, is your still-image channel logo graphic with the loco. Seems a bit generic and a better one might be good for the channel. My wife does graphic design for a living, specifically logos if you're interested.

While I don't know about the rarity of the boxcar (I'm an HO scale modeler), I can certainly appreciate finding an item that you've been searching a while for to put on your layout. Sweet Triple Crown train, btw. You should check out the one on my layout in one of my recent videos. 🙂

Hey let them break your horns it’s all in fun that’s what your into you are obviously selective in your collecting and not all over the map which at times can be difficult as a true train lover it’s hard for me as well I am no different I AM a PENNSY guy also an ERIE fan so I concentrate on those two road names and that’s not to say I dislike everything else I love all trains from all roads I have a few stragglers going in the collection as well but I try to keep it selective if one is not careful you can run yourself into trouble with this hobby hopefully one day I to will hit the you tube world and you will be thinking the same that’s all he has is PENNSY and ERIE with a few stragglers but that’s ok GO AHEAD BREAK MY HORNS. HAVE A NICE DAY.
