+Knight Nice avatar :) But I think you exaggerate. I'm not in the comments of EVERY song :) What can I say, they mean a lot to me (there's a personal story about it all.. but this is neither the time nor place for it). I simply love the band, their music, their live performances (few that I have & watch over & over), appreciation that they are always down to earth & do their thing no matter what the critics say, but most especially I adore majority of books they've based their lyrics on & I'm on a quest to read all of them. It probably won't surprise you that my playlist is just Blind Guardian... 55+ hrs of their magic!!! ;) Best of all - I hope to see them live in October! (my horrible health permitting). If your comment was sarcastic & meant for me to "chill" with comments... I'm very sorry Mr. Knight, but life is too short to not express what you think & feel right away (be it a song, or telling your loved ones you love them, tomorrow might be too late). I also don't give any mind to various (mostly juvenile) RUclips conventions, nor what others may think of my posts. They are free to skip them! Music heals... I'm living proof of that! Cheers & happy listening!
+Alma Ducky I wasn't being sarcastic. it's my favorite band as well. I wouldn't be able to see all of your comments if I weren't in those videos listening to Blind Guardian as well. but from what I just read, I'm happy for you! Take care of yourself, stay strong!!! not too sure what you are going through, but if BG is making you better, then by all means listen to the bards! Hansi is love and life.
Knight I'm very sorry for misunderstanding you! Bedridden due to an incurable, VERY painful illness, for 10+ years. Surgery is extremely expensive & I can't afford it, so I turn to books, music & good friends. I only found The Bards last year, just after they visited 2 cities nearest me & I was very bummed... thinking they would not visit USA for another 5yrs as before... but the 2nd leg of their BRTM tour is next autumn & I could just *fly* (heh) out of sheer happiness! It's gonna be very hard to stand for several hours, as the theatre doesn't have seating or disabled area, but it's Blind Guardian... I'd stand on my head to see them live! Last year, via a friend who wanted to cheer me up, I saw 2 songs from the 2003 Coburg video & figured "this band must be immortal"... then I got so hooked like never before. My S.O. got me their entire discography for our 10yr anniversary + the BG Open Air DVD. Concert in October will be my 40th birthday present :)) I'm old, but grew up on metal... and then the stupid war in my country took me away from Europe. As The Bards are not well known here, I never knew about them 'till last year, which I regret (but it's never too late). Very quickly they got to my top 2 bands (the other is not metal). There was a time when I listened to the likes of Slayer & many such bands, but the more I matured - the more I turned to "melodic" metal, and The Bards do that flawlessly + their lyrics are work of art ... and I completely agree - Hansi is the best story-teller and best vocalist of metal, ever! Marcus & Andre are awesome guys too... I hope I get to play a game or two of something (D3?) someday with one or both of them :) I also very much like that The Bards don't care for any "metal trappings" no pretending, no fakeness, many have criticized them for not jumping around on stage like monkeys... but with them THE MUSIC is the point. I challenge anyone to find a more epic song than "And Then There Was SIlence"... plus sooo many more (often heard many times before you realize the true epicness of it). Still, great avatar!! I couldn't choose just one from their anthology, but prefer the older ones by Andreas Marshall than the newer B.G. covers by Machado, done in same way as so many other bands. And on that (final?) note: www.blind-guardian.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=44999 Stay happy, healthy and \m/ friend :))
+Alma Ducky It honestly warms my heart to hear this. Almost made me cry. And I also agree with you. Blind Guardian always wants to try something new, despite what people may think. Rather than focusing on what people want, they do what they want (while still trying to keep that B.G feel if you know what I mean). I discovered this band two years ago, but like you said better late than never. My friend sent me a RUclips link to The Bard's Song from their Memories of a Time to Come album and I fell in love with the band since. Music does heal emotional wounds and I have Blind Guardian to thank for that as well. But hearing from your perspective, it's almost inspirational. I'm glad you have good friends to be with you and care for you over your agonizing journey! And speaking of Blind Guardian live, I just randomly decided to look up Blind Guardian concerts and they are freaking playing in my hometown, Las Vegas! Holy gosh, but I go to college in Northern Nevada. Sorry, I got off on a tangent lol. You made my night. Makes me thankful at the same time mad to hear this. Thankful that I get to live healthy, but mad because of how cruel and unfair this world is. Either way, I'm very touched by your words. Thank you! And as a side note, I freaked for a bit when I saw those B.G. animated covers lol.
Blind guardian, one of the best bands ever!!!!!!!!! and Oliver should be part of Blind Guardian for the years that he spent with them since 98, now he is in Rhapsody of fire. I'll miss Oliver in Blind Guardian's performances
"In the Holy land !!!!!!! " which goes by the name of Wacken ! Blind Guardian rules there ! ;-) Hope to see them again soon ! in Wacken or anywhere else haha
3:30 Does anyone know why he signs "save us from the evil storm" instead of "reach out for your holy grail" like on the album (and some other live performances)?
Kesi Miao They are the lyrics from the demo version of Script. Either he likes that line better or he just forgot what the original was. he has a lot of lyrics to remember lol
You do not need long hair to love metal nor to headbang. Just go there and enjoy the show :) I used to have really long hair, but I cut it after 8 years. But I'm still a metalhead ofcourse ^^
Unbelievable they sound so perfect even in concert. Most bands couldn't even play so exactly in a studio version.... 1:35 crowdsurfing in a miniskirt? haha, nice hobby... hahaha
Yup, I'd hate that too, can't imagine what it's like. Are you gonna grow it back? (I accidently gave you thumbs down btw, was supposed to be thumbs up.)
guys what's the problem... he's getting older therefore he probably started getting balder and people usually cuts their hair when that happens and that's probably the case with hansi.
03:13
When he sings "Still I hear the scream os thousands"
Then the public completes "Crucify! Crucify!"
Just magic.
Whew I got chills! hell yea!!
this is why i love metal, thousands of people singing an amazing chorus
One of my favorite 5 bands
first place for me:P
I can't even put into words how much I appreciate this performance and upload.
I appreciate how I see you in every comment section of every Blind Guardian song on RUclips lol xD
