You'll be glad to know that the home I am rebuilding, I am creating accessibility across the board. Despite the challenges, because we all are movement limited in some moment in our full lives.
As someone with family and friends who use wheelchairs, I've seen the need for more accessibility. Society needs to be more accessible to all so we can all experience life together, from something so simple as curb ramps and safe sidewalks to bathrooms to theaters.
It's up to all of us, able-bodied inc, to make or force the changes necc. Read recently that archaeologists have found that the ancient Greek temples etc also had ramps.
@Nate T. The point being that key buildings, like the temples in antiquity, considered the needs of people unable to walk. But of course considering the needs of everyone is just 'unreasonable'. Says volumes about you.
@Nate T. How would you feel if every building required you speak you name to be granted access, but for some reason certain buildings (this can be anything from a public place to a potential job) refused to accept 'Nate' as a valid name so through no fault of your own you can't go places. That is how folks with a physical disability feel. And as for the cost, you do realise that people pay taxes and part of that is dedicated towards infrastructure? You can simply campaign the government to do things like give funds to public places to let them make their buildings accessible. Also also I don't think your personal opinions on one gut should dictate how you see the needs of an entire diverse community of people that already face enough problems as is.
This makes it sound so much worse, alot of the time businesses just can't afford to make their building ADA compliant, it's not out of apathy or malice, it's just too expensive for certain places. Press your local government to give grants or business loans to the businesses that need them, this is a local government issue.
Right? "Designed to exclude", uh no dipshit, more like designed to maximize the amount of customers you can get or maximize square footage or minimize construction costs, etc. Love the song "feel it still" but his ideology that everyone is "systemically" out to "exclude" him is unbelievably egotistical. THE WHOLE WORLD ISN'T ABOUT YOU AND YOUR DISABILITY, MY GUY!
Don't need to tear down anything dude. Just bulild. I don't expect the whole damn world to cater to my needs, and tear down anything for me. I'm not that "special".
I love everything about PTM and Eric. Thanks and love!
Thank Y'all PTM ! As An Amputee I Feel The Love !

You've never done renovations, have you. Sometimes you need to tear things down in order to build them back up.
@@theviewer6889 Yeah, we have. Thanks. And I don't expect others to tear down their house, or business, for me.
