I think the mood board is great. I’m casting on a ton of things and, afterward, realizing it is all colorwork. Right now I’m knitting the culloden cowl. It is so gorgeous.
hi Rachel! one of the many reasons I love watching your channel is because we have similar coloring and gravitate towards similar colors. I have always loved moody blues and soft pinks together, and I really think they suit your fair cool toned skin. I also have a quantity ready to go for a Storm Sweater, I think yours will look gorgeous in that rustic undyed yarn....I also wanted to recommend a designer for textured sock patterns, I recently discovered the designer Leeni Hoi on ravelry and adore her textured socks, particularly the Valeria socks, which I am currently knitting!
It's funny how much colouring affects what/how I'm drawn to things! Glad I can be of some service :) thanks for the recommendation, her patterns are so pretty.
I love the colours for the planned projects you chose. They are so special. I really want to knit the Fortune Sweater, too! Your eye colour is so stunning! Especially with this top you are wearing!
The vintage cabled pullover has been exactly what I’ve been looking for but too often there is something about a cabled pattern I’m not a fan of. You might have found THE ONE! Thank you for the link! The Lana vest has also been on my favourites for a while and it would be gorgeous in that red!
I feel the same way about cabled patterns!! I love them in theory but found in practice almost every pattern had something just a smidge off from what I wanted. the Aran archive is a great resource in that respect
I’m knitting my first cardigan. It’s for my adult son.😊 my first jumper was flax by tin can knits and it turned out too baggy I’m might frog it and re knit it using their new DK pattern. My 3 year knittersary is next month I can hardly believe I’m even considering frogging all those stitches😂
I like your plans! I too am craving more intricate patterns that take me longer to knit. I’m currently knitting the Time sweater which is all-over colorwork. I think it’s underrated. The pattern is so well written and beautiful! I just split for sleeves 🥳🤗
Also i didn’t have a specific vibe in mind for autumn, but i’ve been buying ochre, amber, mustard, and moose-y brown yarns, so i guess my seasonal colourscape is just a very typically autumnal one, but which a focus on rich, warm, kinda natural tones. I had this fabulous skein of sock yarn (oranges, yellows, browns, and greens) from last autumn that I was hoping to use but my cats tangled it!! It’s West Yorkshire Spinners Autumn Leaves. Re patterns-i’m currently making the Zipper Sweater by PetiteKnit, which i’m making in Drops Nepal (wool and alpaca) in grey-blue i believe. I think it’s a nice wintery blue. I’m hoping to knit the Champagne Cardigan, also by PetiteKnit, as it gives me those slouchy, dark academia, Remus Lupin vibes. I’m obsessed with this yarn colourway from an indie dyer here in the UK (Edelweiss Fibers, the shade is Single Malt) and I’m considering buying a cardigan’s amount of that yarn as a reward for when/if I finish my master’s. The pattern I’m obsessed with right now and that I want to cast on soon, is Yukinko Mittens by Yucca. They’re convertible mittens with the cutest cabling design, and there’s also another pattern for socks with the same cabling design. It’s such an underhyped pattern, it’s so cute. It was tricky reaching gauge as I couldn’t find any sport weight yarn (not sure if it’s a thing in England) but I’ve almost reached gauge with a sock yarn + mohair combination.
the mood board is so beautiful!! I would love to cast on the Fortune Sweater with you :)) I don't know if you remember this but I am the girl who somewhat recently asked if you find drops brushed alpaca silk itchy, so I could cast on a fortune sweater like yours myself :) I haven't casted it on in the meantime but I have the yarn and I was gonna cast on soon anyways, so I think it could be fun to see you working on one too!
A lot of the things I’m draw to at the moment just represent new things for me to try I think! I’m about to cast on my first all over colourwork sweater (an Islender by Sandnes Garn), and I’m looking with intrigue at brioche patterns because I’ve never tried it before
Currently knitting Roadtripper Tee by Ozetta in De Rerum Natura Ulysse in the color potimarron which is a nice deep orangey color as a transitional piece. Then I want to knit a Storm Sweater in a cream color too! Waiting for a local wool festival to find the yarn. After that, I’m planning on a Louise Pullover by Northside Knit Co. in a blush/dusty pink similar to the pinks you currently are loving and then a raglan in a nice dark green color but not quite pine or hunter green.
Oh that burgundy vest is going to be STUNNING! I've been strangely drawn to drop shoulder constructions lately, which I haven't been previously. I'm itching to cast on the Earth Sweater that Ozetta is releasing this weekend in a swampy green, and a dark purple Dear Duomo by Seunghee Hong!
One of my long-term projects I want to do during this mat leave is knit a shawl, since why do I have so many blanket scarves for the office that I didn't make 😅
I love your palette, those are just my colours! I didn’t catch if you said what you were wearing, I’d love to know as I am looking for a pattern for a SQ of slub yarn.
It's actually the cumulus blouse by petiteknit! But I knit it at a tighter gauge and I think with less than the recommended ease, because I had a DK weight funky yarn I wanted to use but pictured a finished object that looked more like the cumulus tee instead. I also ignored the sleeve instructions and just knit them to elbow length with occasional decreases. Hope that helps!
Love your palette
I have a lot of colour-work in my near future...Alpine Bloom, Calypso, and Esther...oh, and the Robinia. I love those mittens!
Love your podcast and your energy 😊
100% the pippin sweater in that blue combo! Looooove the steely shine of the mohair

Thank you!
Your inspo is so good! I love the story telling moment with the dried flowers 🥰🥰🥰

I understand that! But I imagine reclaiming that yarn will be quite satisfying too :)

Just favourited that pattern on Rav! Thanks for sharing it!
Fisherman knit fall!!!! I’m planning on making a nice mustard-coloured ingrid sweater bc of the fisherman vibe hehe
Love it!

The scout mini is great for using leftover yarns. I made one with nothing but small leftover amounts and I’m planning on making another.

I loooove the Roadtripper and have been meaning to cast it on forever! I see the vision for an orangey transitional one and think that sounds lovely.
I'm feeling really drawn this fall to what I want to call "redwood aesthetic" 😂 Dark and vibrant red/browns, dusky greens, and warm but muted yellows.

Both of those plans sound great :)
I love the mood board
I'm going to make one of my worsted weight favorites that have texture

I'm making the Rota Jumper in dark burgundy/rusty red. And the Kuutar Pullover in... dark burgundy/rusty red. So I guess that's my theme 🙃
