You've come such a long way with this build Jeff. Its no surprise with the amount of people showing interest. I can still remember the covered shell in your yard. You must be well and truly exhausted after the last few weeks running to a deadline for the show. Huge congratulations to you. Can't wait to see you enjoying driving your awesome creation that is the Alferrari.
Love the badges! Glad you and Mike caught up, the two best builds on RUclips. My recommendation for your lift would be to get one of those light beam interrupting switches they use with garage doors to stop them if something interrupts the light beam. Mount it pointing fore/aft on the ceiling and if any part of the top of a car interrupts the beam have it shut off the lift power.
That's a great idea! Not too hard to implement either. I think I'd do it with electronics between the button and the main UP relay for the lift - with luck inside the main handset. That way it would be minimally intrusive and I think would cover more of the possibilities than a relay. So the circuit itself gets switched on by the button and kinda does a test first to decide whether it's going to allow the button to pass current to the normal main relay. I just have a feeling that would be better than introducing another relay (and deciding whether it's going to be normally closed or normally open) with their attendant reliability problems; though Jeff would at least have parts on hand if it's a socketed relay. You could even do it in two levels, a warning height and a damage height, and introduce a beeper for when it's in between, plus maybe an orange and a red relay on the handset for 'Warning' and 'Limit up' in case the garage is noisy. Electronics is more likely to last 30 years than a relay but the most important thing to do would be to list all the use permutations of where the car is and how things could go wrong - including failure of the laser beam (or bulb?) and any of the electronic components. You don't want the pass transistor to fail as a short, though that's less likely than a relay failing, I think. Actually, they at least tend to fail open. Hmmm. (And I've got some 40 year old relays in my car.) It needs proper thought but it's a superb idea nonetheless!
Can't quite believe it's been 4 years in the making. Absolutely loved the series. Watched and still watching all your builds with great awe. Being in the UK a trip to see the car wasn't on the cards. But awesome to see in the light of day. Best wishes to Mrs Jeff.
we should thank you for building this car and showing it to us. Meeting you was a bonus. Keep up the great work, you keep us garage builders wanting to finish our own projects. Big shout out to Mrs Jeff and sorry she is not well. All the best to her.
Was great to meet you at WTAC and see the car in person. Almost made the $90 entry worth it! I couldn't believe the quality of work and I had to look really hard to find any flaw. Much better work than should come out of a home garage! Great work and hope to see something again next year! Or maybe see something RUN on the track?
Everything in/on the car is HOME BUILT BY JEFF. Even the dent. Glad you took it to the show with it. It's all part of the process/journey. I already messaged you on IG, but I've got to say it again. I've been here since the Porsche was an only child, and it was black. I really hope al this exposure at WTAC with Mike Stanceworks, Larry Chen, and so many others; make your channel explode with subs. You truly, truly deserve it. This channel should be at at least 1M subs.
Jef I use those swimming noodles to stop the car doors hitting the wall. You could run one or two under the beam(s) for a few bucks. Great work anyhow.
Was a pleasure meeting and talking to you at Time Attack. A massive credit to you Jeff and your craftsmanship, the Alfarrari just looks amazing in the flesh. Cannot wait to hear it fire up. Congratulations on an awesome build.
The hood cut away and bump really works so perfectly. I won’t lie that when you first talked about them I couldn’t see the vision. But now I think it really adds to the car! Keep up the excellent work Jeff. So many of us are learning from the things you’re teaching here!
I've been watching this built from the beginning and it's my favourite RUclips content.............The anticipation of waiting for the engine startup is killing me!
Wow, the stance this car has is great. Those wheels really look gorgeous. It's awesome to see it sitting out in the open. Can see how really compact it is. Featherweight but with so much power! This baby is gonna be a screamer. The badges are mad fun, and came out looking perfect. That's funny, but also a tribute to two automotive legends. Just gotta smile. Oh yah, and it was hard to tell how dusty she was on camera, until the wash & wax. The difference was noticeable immediately. ... ooohhh SHINY!
Much congratulations on having the Alfa out of the garage and on display. It’s been quite rewarding to be along for the ride on this awesome build all these years. I truly can’t wait to see it running. You’re an inspiration Jeff. Keep up the amazing work and content. 🤙
Maaaaaasterpiece! Absolutely love it! My dad had one in the 80s before anyone even thought of making classic cars work. Flip a coin, weekend at the seaside, or stuck at home watching the AA guy get lost in the electrics. That is just perfect
You have absolutely nothing to be ashamed of anywhere on that car. The dent is there to show that even the really talended sometime makes mistakes. And that is comforting for the rest of us.
A massive congratulations Jeff. I stumbled across your channel during COVID lockdown in 2020 and have never missed an episode since. I'm on the home stretch of a Lancia Stratos (replica) build and have shared your emotional rollercoaster but the end result makes every hour worth it. Keep up the great work and can't wait to hear it run soon. Steve, Uk
@@AlastairSmith Hi Alastair, good to hear from you. Yes an LB with a 3.0 24v Busso. I started in November 2019! It's my first kit car build so a very steep learning curve coupled with I'm a perfectionist and supply chain issues during and since COVID. On positives though, the engineering is sublime, the finish is first class and aesthetically it's mechanical porn!! Where are you based? Are you a paid member of the SEC?
Hi Jeff, was great to meet you and have a quick chat at the show on Friday. The car looks amazing, love the stickers. Thanks again for your time, meeting Mike and yourself were the standout highlights of the show for me!
Congratulations Jeff, the badges are the sort of detail I just love. Also congratulations on simply sticking with the project through all its various phases and showing the world what can be done in your home garage. Cheers from Tassie.
You did what Alfa Romeo should have done it self. You reunited Alfa and Ferrari as they were used to be before Ferrari become its own brand, that a good tribute to Alfa Romeo. Great job, and looks amazing!
I've pretty much followed this build from near the beginning. There were times that I wanted to shout at the screen and say 'Don't do that Jeff' ....... But at the end of the day...stunning........On to the next build
Was really great to get a quick chat to you on friday you are an awesome guy and great to chat to. The car looks amazing and that interior smell from the leather was awesome as well. Can't wait to see this beast driving.
It was great to see the car at WTAC and say g’day very briefly. It was my favourite car of that day, and there were a lot of very well built cars. The sheer lunacy of shoehorning a big engine into a little car really tickles me. It’s like the AC/Shelby Cobra or the Giacatollo (which I realised a day too late was at WTAC!), but home built! Keep up the good work.
It was so great to see this marvelous machine in person. and after talking to you and mike as well as a few others I may have finally found the motivation to get moving on my project again. so thanks GEoff 😆
I Can't wait to hear it and see it running and finally properly finished. I've been watching week after week so for the final video please do it longer with more details. I have enjoyed most of the build and love so fare how its turned out but mainly how much I've learned, what I admire is the quality free of cutting corners the details of the build is something I'm afraid to ask the cost and just LOVE THE CAR SO MUCH. later please show footage of it running or racing and what problems you came across. Thank You.
What a proud moment for you! It's been a pleasure watching this project come together. Can't wait to see some rolling shots and some open road driving. Keep up the great work, even with the mistakes 🤙

I’m not sure a pool noodle will do much against a lift that’s made to pick up a car.
It’s more a warning. They compress pretty well.
Yee-haa
You met Mike and his Honda Swapped Ferrari
