Sichuan Airlines - In order to travel to Tibet, we took a flight with Sichuan Airlines from Chengdu to Lhasa. #Sichuan #Chengdu #Lhasa #airplanefood
I had no idea what to expect of Sichuan Airlines, but actually it’s a pretty nice airline, nicely maintained airplane, and the service was great. Even though it was a short 2 hour flight, they served a full meal of rice, and the best touch about food on Sichuan Airlines is that you can ask for Sichuan chili oil sauce to add to the top of your food - best touch ever for an airline - who wouldn’t want extra Sichuan chili oil on an airplane!!
Lhasa, Tibet - Landing in Lhasa was spectacular, the scenery and high elevation mountains were gorgeous. The airport is about an hour drive from the center of Lhasa, and so drove into Lhasa, and then checked into Hang-Suk Trichang Labrang Hotel.
Jokhang Temple, Barkhor Street - After checking in to our hotel, we then walked around Jokhang Temple and Barkhor Street, the center of the city and one of the most important places in Lhasa.
It was a great day, great flight with Sichuan Airlines for the first time.

Mark is one of the happiest person I've seen. Always positive remarks. He loves every piece of food he eats. Also he has such clean hands. Check out his cuticles. No raggedy nails great job.
When Micah goes to college his entrance essay is going to be amazing, with all his travels
I wonder if he getting home schooled...? If he is, it's actually harder for home schooled children to get into good colleges unfortunately. From what I've read this is even more so in Asian countries. Even if the education they received is as good or better than what they would of got in a public or private school.

I lived in Taiwan in the 1970s. I went on a school trip down island to a town where few Americans ever went. We lived in a Chinese style hotel and ate all of our meals at awesome little street restaurants. We had one breakfast that was almost exactly like the one Mark eats in this video. I remember that they called the rice porridge "gruel". We ate the bean milk like soup with a Chinese spoon. They also had long fried bread sticks (Youtiao). They had air pockets in them and were sort of like what we call churros in San Antonio. I love going on trips with Mark. He makes it feel like we are there with him.

Tibet has the one of the best scenery in the world. It called roof top of the world. Tibet is amazing country and beautiful people.

Air Canada, take note! even a 2 hour chinese airline provides lunch! They dont even give you snacks!

When other airlines are reducing their long haul meals Sichuan airlines still provide hot meal during 2 hours flight, awesome thumb up to Sichuan airlines

Sichuanese food are probably the most "chilli-est/pepper-est" food in the world, bet Mark gonna love it. They use 2kg chilli for half kg meat 😁

I think sichuan airlines provides best food for economy passengers on domestic flights in China. Enjoy your vlog of Tibet,hopefully u would spend few days in chengdu,there are varieties of food worth exploring

Yeah, his eyes were definitely glazed over...The altitude sickness must be hitting him hard! He is in the in one of, if not the, highest altitude countries in the world. It's one of the things that scare me about traveling to Tibet, I can't imagine how it'd effect someone like myself who already has breathing problems because of Asthma.
