That is not true. Lobola was historically set by Chiefs depending on the economy or availability of cattle. That is why Nguni tribes went on cattle raids. The wealth in cattle was most pronounced for lobola. In KZN, when the British took over, the British Magistrate set the lobola terms at Regional level, depending on the wealth of people and as cows were taken by whites, the lobola terms were adjusted to less cattle and other items. Otherwise people would not get married.

@tombimashri8149 you've hit the nail on the head. Coloureds are indeed a creole ethno-cultural group, representing the multi-generational blending and fusion of diverse racial and cultural populations into a distinctive and unified identity. This process of creolization is a fascinating aspect of history and culture, not only seen in Coloured communities but also in various creole populations globally. Similar creole populations can be found in Africa, such as in Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Mauritius, and St Helena. Additionally, creole communities have flourished worldwide in the Americas, Brazil, the Caribbean, and Latin America. The shared experience of creolization involves the amalgamation of African, European, and often Native or other influences, resulting in unique cultures, languages, and traditions.
The difference between West African and Southern African bantus is that the West are the loud and proud cousins whilst Southerners are cool , calm and quiet until alcohol dilutes our blood. Marriage customs are basically the same with nuances like the bride has to point out whom her husband to be is during lobola ceremony ( Nigeria through to S.A. ). It's a bantu thing. Clapping hands whilst greeting visitors and curtseying/kneeling is expected in order to show humility ( observing protocol ) and hospitality. Mjadala mkubwa (great discussion)! First, Black people in the United States should drop the term 'Black American' and pick an African (Bantu) name for the (collective) group, e.g., Maboma ('many villages' < Kiswahili). The "Black American" term does nothing to denote that the associated person is of African origin. In fact, the term "Black American" sounds like someone who is classified as an appendage culturally , ethnically and philosophically to the American, the name that the white colonizers, who founded the eventual United States, gave themselves. Perhaps Black people ought to embrace their African heritage and identify as Bantu. Just keep it simple. The African culture in the US is based on this geo-ethnic background. The rest of the African Diaspora is pretty much Bantu as well. Everyone needs an ethno-lingua-cultural reference for themselves which references the 7 major areas of culture: ethos, economics, politics, creative arts, social organization, history and mythology. Put all of the greatest talents, achievements and narratives from past and present under the banner of the new name. Though the group is based in the US, having a home and affiliation in Africa is part of the birthright as well as a conduit for economic and political leverage in a mzungu (white) dominated country (United States). The group should state that they are Africans. This creates proper order. Second, develop an Africa linkage/engagement plan. Multi-level engagement w/ Africa is the basic solution and path forward for African-Americans. Just thinking outside the box by a Bantu passing by!

Why, is it because Black is a racial classification invented by a White man?. I will also argue that we also need to get rid of the Bantu classification because it was invented by a Nazi German linguist called Wilhelm Bleek. Some will also go as far as arguing that Africa is a name given after a European.
🤷♀It's because the word is associated with segregation during the Jim Crow Law era, in the US. It's not so offensive it's just a term not commonly used anymore as some prefer African, Afro or Black American - I, myself not offended as my great-grandmother still uses it - It was just a first hearing the word outside of the US. 😂

You are talking nonsense. ESKOM produces far more electricity than the apartheid Era. Get some education. Corruption and all but there's far higher numbers than there was then.
Eskom is delivering electricity to 96% of the population after 1994, before 1994 it delivered only 16.7 % to whites, Indians and coloureds. White racist government was the most corrupt government go and check Info Scandal, the Stellenbosch Mafia, boere mafia and so on, those make the ANC government look like angels.
The one talking rubbish is you, the beautiful South African sisi was on point.

@@lordschild673 ur wont understand its south african term for mixed
Dont let Catherine fool you. All South African yts are racist including her. She's definitely never been to a black home in SA. The only black people she knows are servants: the black woman who is a maid that cleans her house and cooks and all. And then the other black person she knew was the black man who is garden boy.
Nope you are wrong
You are talking bs, just because you hate South Africans doesnt mean yoy have to make up lies about them.
Great chat ladies....the topic on ethnicity...totally no no....madam has defrenciated the Race groups in SA rather than the ethnicity...ethnicity has got to do with the groups of people withing each race groups exampl amongst the Race Black you would get ...the zulus, pedis, vendas, xhosas, amongst the indians you would get the hindus, telegus, muslims, urdus, tamils etc ....oi oi
Yes you’re right but luckily my friend knew what I meant. My mistake
madams explaination on ethnicity totally wrong, she explained race instead ie whites ,blacks, coloreds and indians. ethnicity got to do with the different groups within each race like blacks would have the zulus, pedi, vendas and indians would have hindus, muslims, urdus, tamils etcetera
She made a mistake,Eswatini is sharing borders with Mozambique
