just subsrcibed. your videos are awesome and it bring back my interest on reefing. thinking of getting a 75 gal tank but i want it low maintenance so i wont use any sump. do you think its possible just to have a skimmer with other canister type filter set up at the back of the tank?
Question: can you explain why you need to remove the algae? I was under the impression that the algae removes the nutrients, therefore the more the merrier. PS I love your videos!
Wow Ryan! Were you having a bad day when this was filmed? You really weren't your chipper self :) (Maybe I have just been watching to many of your vids lol)
Hey Ryan @ BRS. I belong to reef2reef and we are having quite a good debate over on the forums about which fosters the most copepod growth out of ATS, refugium, or chaeto reactor. Would you be willing to run an experiment on this? Honestly, I think it would be between the reactor or the ATS.Please let me know. I think this would be an amazing thing to find out, especially those who are looking for a natural food source for their mandarins and other fish! Thanks!
Can the bacteria in zeobak coexist with other strains commonly used in other bacteria additives? with (nitrosamonas/nitrobacter). I know they're recommending theirs for a specific reason, just wondering if they can coexist together?
I would say its bad to leave lights on 24/7 since its not just a waste if electricity but in the studies shows that many plants will die out if it doesn't 'rest'.
chances are that the bacteria behaves different and may excrete different substances as a result to, of course, what they're fed but also what their environment is, specifically the amount of unwanted nutrients. And that is my experience as to why it is unknown. Fucking variables. Great vids hope you make more!
When is the right time to use biopellets ? I'm making a reef tank and i was wondering if i can use biopellets from the start or do i wait ? im going to use turbo start to cycle the tank
This should be recreated. Your fantastic now a days! Little camera shy on these. BRS DO IT AGAIN!!

Great video. But couldn't you also use miracle/mineral mud? I've seen more and more reef tanks using them. Any advice of comment?
This is Ryan before the money flowed in :)
lol He's definitely gotten more comfortable in front of the camera over the years 🙂
Nice video BRS!
I was wondering what´s your thoughts about algae scrubbers ?? Could you make a vid on this ??
Thanks so much for the video, I'm a little confused, should I be doing wet/dry, refugium or both?
Thanks for using my sump pic in this video!

Great video! :)
+1 on the suggestion that you also discuss miracle mud.
Would the ZEOvit system be beneficial to mixed reef tanks or just for SPS dominate tanks? Typically LPS need some of the nutrients.
Great video very informative
About how long should you soak bio pellets in RO DI water? I heard 24 hours is excessive...
Good video!! I like the fish in the bottle of vodka!
hey my fuge is in the video haha cool thanks for another great video i did enjoy it very helpful you guys are the best :)
When are you going to work on the tank from the first episode?
Can you use biopellets while using mb7 and vodka to boost the growth of bacteria?
Do I need a bio-pellet reactor to run bio-pellets or can I use the regular BRS media reactor?
Can bio pellets replace activated carbon? If not, what's the difference?
would you reccomend small a hob refugium ; or pack it with a very porus bio-media?
I never thought you could keep clowns in vodka. Damn. You've proved me wrong! :3
Haha thanks BRS! Keep up the excellent videos!

Whould bio dosing(by way of prodibio) work without bio pellets?
I must say, it looks good on the video. LOL
What is the difference between a sump and a refugium?

I have 9 w uv sterilizer shall I leave or take it away ?
just b/c something is gm doesn't necessarily mean it's bad.
And the most common way to do it is to put the refugium IN the sump.
Alright thanks
What happened to the sound?
When I try to view certain older youtube videos there's no sound.
