If you have had an algae turf scrubber on your tank for years and are still struggling with nitrates and phosphate can you add carbon too or should you remove the ats?
I have a big outbreak of hair algae and now cyno. I just lost all of my fish, but one to velvet and now with all the fish gone I have this big outbreak. What is my first step to get rid of all of this
I have been dosing RedSea NoPox to reduce the Nitrates and Phosphates in my tank, but they seem to be raising rather than lowering. I run my skimmer wet as advised. Watching today as episode I think maybe I need to reduce the NoPox instead of adding more. The red film on the glass is getting worse although I don’t have any on the sand. My reading today using the Hanna checkers are 0.21 phosphate and 24.1 Nitrate using the ultra low Hanna checker. Do you agree I should reduce theNoPix and see if that helps?
You have to use a good skimmer and put the output to the skimmer intake pump. Your skimmer will remove it before it gets back into the main tank. No skimmer = cyano. I went 48oz full dose never had a issue.

you put the output of the biopellet reactor to the intake of the skimmer then none gets in the main tank and you get no cyano.
