I'm speechless. Love the clarity of your drums sound. Just like Nicko in that era... I pray for maiden to bring that sound before they retire. Can't figure out what changed? Even with Adrian and Bruce back in the band..
Honestly, I think after the many years with Martin Birch, having Kevin Shirley produce records is going to make the band sound different. Everything up to The Book of Souls sounded phenomenal I thought. Sure they were recording differently (live band with little overdubs, ass opposed to individually recording each instrument), but that shouldn't really change much. The Book of Souls kinda sounded flat to me, especially the drums. I saw a comment about them once that said they sounded like cardboard, which isn't a bad comparison haha. However, I know that for the live shows they changed FOH engineers, and a lot of people complained. He was sacked and I think the new guy who took over for Legacy of the Beast was a solid FOH engineer! Hopefully the next album has better drums though.
Combo of Harris losing his mind and Kevin Shirley... Shirley is too easily influenced/pushed around by Harris and the result is the muddled mess post BNW

Have you ever listened to Terry Bozzio.....this would be a good thing....just how you play...I saw glimpses...which I think is cool, so it was meant as a good thing, lol....as a bass player, I guess I found myself more interested in drummers persay....peart and portnoy being my favs, Terry Bozio was another....thanks for reply....keep playing wish you were my neighbour....be fun...cheers
