Gower Champion, Tommy Rall and Gene Nelson were the same type: strong, muscular but lithe. Less effusive and exaggerated than Fosse, less anxious to flaunt their virility and good-guydom than Kelly. It is a pity that the musical was flagging when a promising new crop of male dancers was arriving.
I don't know why Marge and Gower keep popping up in my recommendations but I'm loving it
