*I'm deaf in my right ear which is why I'm not wearing headphones. I know, it's a bummer not to get the panning sounds. It's also been a bummer to only have one ear my whole life for lots of other reasons, like, playing telephone growing up, I was terrible at it. But, I'll be ok, and I'm getting both channels in the earbud, thanks for your concern :)

Highly Suspect is great. I would suggest Lydia, Wolf, and Send Me and Angel. Other rock bands that are similar to them (in my opinion) that are also great are Manchester Orchestra and Badflower. Both are also worth checking out.
I really liked Highly Suspect, especially after this album (The Boy who died wolf), but their latest effort is big departure and disappointment for me. That being said I still enjoy the previous singles Lydia, Serotonia, (This song), and especially love the song Little One. So if you want to listen to more I'd suggest checking those out.

Yup. Instead of listening to mcid, I just went way back to the self titled album. Upperdrugs is good and sos is alright, but that's about it
I love MCID they pulled off more than just rock music in a fantastic way. To me the messages of the songs are the best part

Duuuuuude I normally watch the pop reactions but this is the first metal reaction band that I know lol I love highly suspect so much, and if you continue reacting to them I recommend “Lydia” :))
There is a huge reference to the book, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep in this song when they flash the peacock for a second. The book is about creating androids that are indistinguishable from living creatures, at which point, what is the difference between emulation and creation, amongst other themes. This book inspired the movie Bladerunner if you are familiar. The images are very reminiscent of the AI debate on creation, specifically the question, 'who are we to create life'?
In my own subjective view of the song and lyrics ane video, I take it as the gods(humans) created him and others like him and the gods(humans) make him and the others of his kind to belive the humans are gods that came down from the stars or just that they govern technology and life since stars usually represent life and they created him and his kind.
The man question who is and what he is and his place and the so called humans(gods) decide to rebel against his creators i.e the gods(humans) and inspired others to do so
He realized that the humans(gods) are infact not gods are just frail beings playing as such(gods)
So using his newfound strength over mankind or humans(gods) steals their power for himself to make others like him the whole (I stole the power from the stars) being he stole the power of the gods and used it on himself making himself stronger and better and he is creating a women in the video so the man having been made by "god" (Adam) stole his power and made himself stronger and created another like him being the woman he is making (eve)
Then realized he is more than just a pale recreation or attempt at life he is more than just a man as he stated in the lyrics..
The irony is that he has become what he hated "human" since he stated his name is human he became them and worse playing God himself and created a cycle of it.
All in all it mirrors the biblical creation of Adam and eve but a different approach. The meaning behind the song for me is that humans are frail and weak and any attempt and playing God will fail and be the very thing that destroys us because the they created life and it rebelled took their power and became just like them since they created him in their image. And inturn after becoming human he also got their sin and their faults and did the same mistake
I wouldn't call Highly Suspect metal, but they are an awesome band. Love your video reactions!

Really liked your quick note about how, "F everyone else" seems to suggest that he DOES feel better than everyone else.
After all, the narrator in the end technically equates himself with god.
Certainly feels contradictory, and it reminds me of Prometheus stealing fire for humans, but also Animal Farm in how the pigs form a revolution but in the end up ascending to the same power they vowed to overthrow.

Okay. Love the reaction, you should totally react to Lydia, is one of my fav song of them. They literally became one of my fav band that "no one knows" bc of their sound and lyrics. Johnny also have a reallllyyyy good voice.
I heard this song on the radio and liked it but didn't think more about it or the band. I'm definitely learning more about some songs/bands from your channel, and I feel like you are from them or us about perspective on the world. You see it in analyses of songs like this.

The bot reminds me of Sophia, (Sophia is a social humanoid robot developed by Hong Kong-based company Hanson Robotics.Sophia was first turned on on February 14, 2016). Sophia has struggled with her identity since her creation. In this video, he adds himself as the first thing that she sees. He introduces himself to her as human. Sophia at one point said she hates humans. In the video, he offers her love. Something her creators forgot to offer even though she was endowed with emotions. He tries to tell her you aren't the only one the powers that be mess with but that some of us are loveable and he would accept and love her and she him if only they met. In the end, she is his girl.
I take it more along the Adam and even route where humans played God and their created the A.i aka Adam the man in the video stole their power which he says he took the power from the sun and the gods in the video or the humans claim to be God and come from the stars
In the end since he was made in their image he became just like them and that includes the good and the bad so he made the same mistake and played God by creating eve the girl you see he is making in the video...
It's just a big cycle and meaning behind it is don't play God we are just small frail humans and who are we to proclaim ourselves more than just a man and that we are infact not gods

Full story is of 3 parts. 1st part is Imagine Dragons-Radioactive. This song is 2nd part. 3rd part is Eminem-Darkness. I wrote all 3 in succession. Fire World is a poem I wrote. The poem is about how this world is burning up and we are born here and we can learn to love it.
To me this is an atheist anthem.
