Well done to you on your towing skills as I’m sure it’s not easy reversing, parking up etc. I’m so pleased you’re finally getting some sunshine and the grandchildren are having fun at the beach. The more trips you go on ,the more relaxing it will be but it as you say, it is very much reliant on the weather and how it behaves! You’ve done more than I ever did with the towing Helen and we had a caravan for many years. Just didn’t have the nerve, so well done you!! Enjoy yourselves x❤
Our caravan is like a home from home. We have a barbecue that uses gas from the tap outside. Darren uses it to cook a lot including breakfast if we treat ourselves. We both love proper coffee so we treated ourselves to a machine so we can have a latte or cappuccino. Little things like that make all the difference. We just fully relax. We even have all the Sky Netflix channels on the telly. We often download movies etc before we go away so we can keep ourselves entertained if we fancy a night in with a bottle of wine. We also buy Booths or M & S food to take the hard work out of meal preparation. Great way to holiday if you have a dog. We are going to Scotland in September. Had a lovely holiday in Cornwall earlier. Strongly recommend. Wendy

It’s nice to unwind & relax with a good book. I like you am a shopaholic and find it hard to go a few days without visiting a shop and yes any shop. My hubby puts up with it sitting outside with the dogs waiting my return and sometimes I get him something too but he never looks as excited as me🤣🤣 We were so lucky with the weather we had a week by the sea last week and every day was HOT.. looking forward to your next blog. Camping (glamping) is so relaxing! Well done, Miss Helen! I keep a master list so we don’t forget anything. Print it out for each trip, cross off items as you pack up, and drive away with no worries that you forgot the toothpicks, etc. lol!😂
Really enjoyed that! A little tip for when it's really hot in the day is to pull down the blinds where the sun is directly on the window. We find this helps in our motorhome. X

BTW I have had my husband watch the updates on Robs A.F. as he was also told he had it ...... We got a phone call the very next day to say he was booked for a Cardioversion 2 days later..... It was so fast our heads were spinning but seeing what Rob said about feeling 100% after the procedure helped to put his mind at ease, so thank you Rob.... The Cardioversion worked on the first go and he is doing great.. Take care xoxoxo

Yes well done you I was never brave enough when we had our van, now I’ve lost my husband how I wish I had done it, but I no longer have a caravan, might treat myself to a campervan . The 16 years of caravanning were the best years of our lives, enjoy yours, life’s too short ❤️

Aww, I didn’t think Rob looked too impressed Helen. Caravanning can be hard work especially preparing for the trip and getting everything sorted once you arrive. Me & my husband had one when we got our dog, we absolutely loved it but we were only in our thirties then, don’t think we could cope with one now. Since taking early retirement it’s luxury hotel stays for us these days. Hopefully you’ll travel further afield for your next trip. We went all over with ours (never abroad) Kent, Scotland and everywhere in between..it was great! xx
He was fine, just enjoying a bit of down time before the final push! haha. We've booked our next trip and will be doing more. However, I still love a luxury hotel! haha xx
I’m a younger subscriber (I’m 37) but an avid caravanner myself! We have a four berth with twin beds too and depending on whether my 11 year old twins are with us or with their dad (I met their stepdad when they were 3) we’ll either sleep on the front bed or the single beds. I prefer the latter as the front bed is very uncomfortable! We’ve had some issues with our van but I love it and it’s much nicer than the one we had previously which didn’t have any fixed beds at all. Your caravan looks very similar to ours
Hi Helen , caravan looks very nice , I’ve having caravan , & mobile home holidays & weekends for the last 50 years , & still love it . I did used to hate putting up the awnings, so now it’s much easier in a motor home . You will get to find it much easier next time . But I also think you are very brave to tow the van . So well done you 👍👏😘

I'm glad you suggested using the oven as a bread bin ! I've got some long life goats milk to store ( goats milk supplies are erratic now ) I shall put it in my big oven and think of you . I hardly use the oven / grill now because I've got an airfryer . Certainly not in this weather !

We have beef blessed with a grandson who is 3 and he is going to be living near us, we are so happy as travelling to see him was not ideal. Hello Campers! Well done Helen. You were determined to tow that caravan and have certainly made the van look a home from home. Amazing what you needed to take for a couple of days but it will all probably stay there now, and the set up and pack will be easier. To be honest you both looked pretty whacked but the heat in the van would not have helped! I hired a Campervan with an awning for the first time at 70 after the first lock down ended and drove from Sussex to Norfolk with my dog and just loved it! I think a Motorhome might suit you both better. Less strain and easier for sure! Happy Camping 😄
Thank you. I don't fancy a camper van at all to be honest. I'd rather have a bit more space and also just leave it there once we are set up.... but who knows, I might change my mind xx
A proper motor home is better than a Campervan (ie VW) with more space, and still quite do/able when it comes to visiting and parking. Just getting away anywhere is great so have fun and take care whatever you are in! . Will you both be sharing the driving in the future?

So pleased you had your first trip out, you did brilliantly at towing… I leave that to Phil!! But I often think if I did have a go I’d probably smash it (not the caravan) and do a better job especially at reversing..mmmmm but hey ho keep to the domestic bit Sue lol… it will get better the more you go out. We have tick lists to make sure we have done everything which covers everything from the hitching of the van to what we take to wear, and an ancillary list of everything else, this is good when items are stored elsewhere other than in the van itself. Look forward to your next adventure ours is to the Isle of Angelsey. Good idea of yours to keep the laundry basket in the shower.. I’m off to buy one tomorrow like yours. Cheers. Well done you for towing the caravan. Maybe after a few trips you might upgrade to a motor home. Your hotel room is literally on your back. Helen you have my total admiration towing the caravan !! Well done you 👏 I have never been brave enough. It does get much easier as the season goes on and you only have to travel a few miles to feel a world away from home. You also meet some lovely people on different sites. Really pleased you enjoyed your first trip away. Btw those small fans from John Lewis are a godsend in the hotter weather aren't they!
Looks lovely we have a tourer but unfortunately we don’t use anymore , we done caravanning for over 40years , we used to leave it sited through the summer months and bring it home when the season ended , hope the weather tags lovely o yo 😊

Oh Helen it took me back to when we had our caravan. I always used to say it was a working holiday by the time you pack to go , then set everything up when you get there! But I really miss it and I’m sure you will get into a routine. The caravan is lovely and You’ll have many lovely trips and memories. ( Dolly will love it too) xx
You’re amazing doing the towing Helen- that’s a huge achievement. I can barely travel in the passenger seat when my husband’s towing and he’s a great driver 😂. First time out is stressful but you did it. Hope it’s easier next time❤

[Prima is on Readly app too]. I don’t know if it was the latest edition or the last one..but one of them.
Thank you. I started taking the Magnesium for sleep, but it doesn't seem to have made much difference, but it does seem to have 'cured' my IBS.... so I'm happy about that xx

I prefer the latter as the front bed is very uncomfortable! We’ve had some issues with our van but I love it and it’s much nicer than the one we had previously which didn’t have any fixed beds at all. Your caravan looks very similar to ours

Hi Helen , caravan looks very nice , I’ve having caravan , & mobile home holidays & weekends for the last 50 years , & still love it . I did used to hate putting up the awnings, so now it’s much easier in a motor home . You will get to find it much easier next time .
But I also think you are very brave to tow the van . So well done you 👍👏😘
With the air awning it really wasn't too bad. Next time will be easier for sure xx
If you keep your curtains closed during the day it might be cooler? It’s lovely everything turned out easy and you enjoyed camping, you’ll be encouraged to go again.👍🏼🙋🏼♀️

Aw Helen what a clever girl you are!!! Well done to you and Rob…I wouldn’t fancy towing/reversing etc. with a caravan attached. It all looked lovely - Bertha is just gorgeous. I bet you are proud of yourself for driving/towing/parking Bertha. Rob and Dolly looked so relaxed and you certainly picked the right time to go with the lovely weather we have had, beats it being 1st July and sitting with a blanket as we are really chilly. British Summers !!!!!!!

I'm glad you suggested using the oven as a bread bin ! I've got some long life goats milk to store ( goats milk supplies are erratic now ) I shall put it in my big oven and think of you . I hardly use the oven / grill now because I've got an airfryer . Certainly not in this weather !

So happy for you both to enjoy being with your grandchildren. Our granddaughter is 19 and we have loved being with her as she has grown up. We have beef blessed with a grandson who is 3 and he is going to be living near us, we are so happy as travelling to see him was not ideal. We are one happy family who will be able to share fun weekends. I love your videos and enjoy watching you do so many fun things. Thank you for showing us lovely clothes shoes and jewellery, you always look lovely.

Hello Campers! Well done Helen. You were determined to tow that caravan and have certainly made the van look a home from home. Amazing what you needed to take for a couple of days but it will all probably stay there now, and the set up and pack will be easier. To be honest you both looked pretty whacked but the heat in the van would not have helped!
I hired a Campervan with an awning for the first time at 70 after the first lock down ended and drove from Sussex to Norfolk with my dog and just loved it! I think a Motorhome might suit you both better. Less strain and easier for sure! Happy Camping 😄

I don't fancy a camper van at all to be honest. I'd rather have a bit more space and also just leave it there once we are set up.... but who knows, I might change my mind xx
A proper motor home is better than a Campervan (ie VW) with more space, and still quite do/able when it comes to visiting and parking. Just getting away anywhere is great so have fun and take care whatever you are in! . Will you both be sharing the driving in the future?

Wonderful to spend quality time with the grandchildren! We used to take ours to a static caravan every year when they were little, and sitting in a caravan in the rain is not my idea of fun either 😂😂😂❤ x

So pleased you had your first trip out, you did brilliantly at towing… I leave that to Phil!! But I often think if I did have a go I’d probably smash it (not the caravan) and do a better job especially at reversing..mmmmm but hey ho keep to the domestic bit Sue lol… it will get better the more you go out. We have tick lists to make sure we have done everything which covers everything from the hitching of the van to what we take to wear, and an ancillary list of everything else, this is good when items are stored elsewhere other than in the van itself. Look forward to your next adventure ours is to the Isle of Angelsey.

Well done you for towing the caravan. Maybe after a few trips you might upgrade to a motor home. Your hotel room is literally on your back.
Just as a side note.... that black lace dress you showed us in Monsoon sale arrived today. I am beyond thrilled. I've put it away for a Dec wedding. Thank you so much, I'd never have found it.
I don't think a motor home is for me. I like the idea of setting up and leaving it all there.

Helen you have my total admiration towing the caravan !! Well done you 👏 I have never been brave enough. It does get much easier as the season goes on and you only have to travel a few miles to feel a world away from home. You also meet some lovely people on different sites. Really pleased you enjoyed your first trip away.
Btw those small fans from John Lewis are a godsend in the hotter weather aren't they!

Looks lovely we have a tourer but unfortunately we don’t use anymore , we done caravanning for over 40years , we used to leave it sited through the summer months and bring it home when the season ended , hope the weather tags lovely o yo 😊

Oh Helen it took me back to when we had our caravan. I always used to say it was a working holiday by the time you pack to go , then set everything up when you get there!

You’re amazing doing the towing Helen- that’s a huge achievement. I can barely travel in the passenger seat when my husband’s towing and he’s a great driver 😂. First time out is stressful but you did it. Hope it’s easier next time❤

Phew….that must be a relief to get the first tow over……WELL DONE….HONESTLY x …..just watched the last part of your video and you were saying that you had a bad night’s sleep I know that you take magnesium and I’ve just read in the Prima magazine that if you take it at night, it helps you sleep. [Prima is on Readly app too]. I don’t know if it was the latest edition or the last one..but one of them.
Thank you. I started taking the Magnesium for sleep, but it doesn't seem to have made much difference, but it does seem to have 'cured' my IBS.... so I'm happy about that xx

Well done you👏👏👏 There is no way I could pull a caravan for sure. I got my first car at 17 as my dad owned a garage I’m 68 soon and I still drive because I have to not because a I like it . Especially these days with so much traffic on the road so I take my hat off to you. Bertha is looking great glad your first trip went so well. You’ll make some great memories for the grandkids. Xx
