In this video, three languages are spoken. If you not master them all, PUT ON THE CAPTIONS. I made subtitles in English, German and Dutch, and here on RUclips you can get the English automatic translated into any other language.
Onrust! Your bus needs a camera system. You should have a computer next to you while you are driving that has a rear camera, a camera of the electrical/water room, and side cameras on the bus so you can see how it all fits. It would not be expensive to make (less than $300 for a REAL nice easy to use system). Look into it! Your WiFi camera is not the way to go... there’s better ways! A system like that would provide so much more security in event of a fire, etc!
It’s so cool that you show other busses with such respect and manners. That it’s not about you showing off your build but gives a sense of community around the bus owners / fellow travelers is also a great to watch.
Videos are great, always wanted to convert a bus into an RV and have picked up some ideas. Nice to see Santa Claus (Charly bus driver) enjoying his time off lol
Many thanks for the video tours of more of the buses. Thanks also to you and to Peter for showing me around when we came to your ‘Treffen’ to see what is possible and to allow for some new ideas. I like your method of holding roof panels especially and have ordered LED lamps for the interior at your suggestion. Still looking for a supplier for the water hoses and fittings you showed. We are still not road-ready as we have spent 3-weeks touring France, Italy, Slovenia, Austria, Germany and the BeneLux countries on our GoldWing trike with trailer. Camping was uncomfortable compared to the plan for next year, in our own ‘bus’. Hope to see you somewhere. Regards.
Philip, I presume..? :-) I can only tell you I got the hoses here: pvcvoordeel.nl/storz-koppelingen/ - I don't know whether it is any use to you. You might want to look at another video I made that is in my other channel, the more because you are in it. It is here: ruclips.net/video/Vd0h1bT8aWs/видео.html Would like to see you again, Regards, Ron.
I'll ask the owner Axel next time again, but he must get tired from me... He declines my requests, because he lives in it and therefore it is not always that cleaned up. I respect that..
Wonderful video. maybe i am wrong but i hope that all buses (especially the truck with no windows 8:57 ) have a back up plan when it catches fire in the kitchen or gas leaking or so, it looks like most of the buses and the truck are all like a death trap in a way with most of the windows sealed .... espicially in the master bed way at the back!
I can't say anything about the truck or the other buses, but I agree with you that there should be a way out. My bus has three large roof hatches and every room (up or downstairs) has one or more lifehammers for smashing in the windows in case of emergency. So there is always a way out... Oh and we've got a smoke detector.
Hello Ron!Thank you a lot for your video.Very good quality, good buses,people... And video from the drone is wonderful. Beginning of the video is funny-making with your "special" talk 😃
Some more of that bus is in my video of SchiederSee 2017 (ruclips.net/video/pcPUwYUAjbg/видео.html ). I wanted to do an interior tour this year, but he couldn't get it cleaned up enough in time... Id really like to know how much is cost to buy and build your bus. I'm sure it was very expensive but it would be interesting for me. However, maybe you might not want to say and I would respect that.
Not that I know of. I doubt it. Every time we meet, I ask him if I can make a video, but he declines every time. Does not allow anyone to enter his bus. He got fed up with all those people in his private space (he lives in it), and since no one gets in.
@@Onrust1 Ah ok thats to bad, i would have loved to get a better look at his bus but we have to respect his wishes and hope that he maybe changes his mind someday
Yes, it always is on my list. But owner Axel isn't that keen on letting people in, because he lives in it, and therefore it isn't always that tidy... (and we understand, of course). I hope to be able to persuade him once, though.. 😊
@@Onrust1 Ok thanks maybe next time! I am wanting to visit Germany someday.. *bucket list*. want to meet some friends there (Claudia Hirschfeld and the members of her fan club)
The happening of this video is every year (Pentecost). You're invited to come and see my bus. 😊 I Googled Claudia and it was nice getting to know her (and Wersi). I was in awe when I saw what se can do with all her limbs... wow! But, talking about bucket lists, before I would go and see her, I would first have to visit Mnozil Brass. If you don't know them, then it is your time now to check on Google (or rather: RUclips). 😁
This is as close as it gets to a tour: ruclips.net/video/pcPUwYUAjbg/видео.html The owners name is Axel, and he lives in it. The last years he doesn't let anyone in anymore. Got tired of all the tours through his home again and again..
Question: How tall are the double deckers over all, I see on Charley's you are stepping up into it, you are then standing upright on lower level (with headroom to spare) and again standing upright (with almost no headroom) on 2nd level + what ever may be installed on the roof? Here in the US the legal height (without having a special permit) is 13' 6" (4.14 meters). Thanks.
Good question. For almost all of Europe is 4 meters the limit (there are few countries where vehicles can be taller, but those can only operate within that country or region), so the non-UK double deckers are all 4 meters (13'1"). Most of them have - like mine - downstairs 1.85m and upstairs 1.65m. Charly's one is special, because it has a split level. Being built as a office-bus, one side (right) is downstairs higher, and one side is upstairs higher (left). The split is not in the middle. You can see it in the video in the part where he shows his American fridge; the fridge is on a step. That guestroom there is a step up too - that gives more headroom downstairs. See?
Out of curiosity, why didn't you level out the isle and remove the raised section on either side to make it more open plan with the lower level being more like a school bus conversion? The isle and then raised seating sections either side seem super inconvenient and like a waste of potential space. I'm not asking to be an ass, I'm looking at buying a double decker next year and I'm wondering about leveling out that lower level as I am very tall.
That's really easy - because those raised sections are there for a reason - they are filled with stuff. On the left side there are the air pressure tanks, the spare tyre, and behind that the Webasto heater, and on the right side is the diesel tank and the bus batteries. Although it is not completely impossible to relocate those, I decided not to go that route...
@@Onrust1 Ah I see, thanks for getting back to me! Yeah, that sounds like way too much work for me! I'll leave the isle, I've looked at a lot of other double-decker videos and it's not a huge issue
