Thank you, man, it worked. P.S. Don't worry guys, it's supposed to look like it's covered in slime when you add the oil - it is NOT from the dish soap. It then dries and it's perfect!
Is the K&N cleaning kit compatible with foam filters or will it ruin the foam? Or just use dish soap? The oil from K&N is fine i think because you used it.
I think it is yes but I just use good old fashioned fairy liquid and hot water lol, main thing it make sure it's clean, then bone dry before re applying the oil let that tack off job done 👍🏻
Slightly better throttle response (sounds much better) but not masses of difference in reality ( worth it for the sound alone 😉) I had a k&n Pannal filter I'm a different car and didn't notice any difference at all in anyway to be honest, just handy to clean rather than replace.
I had a panel filter in a Vectra 2.0T and it made a huge difference in sound and throttle response. I have this foam Ramair in my Golf but I can't comment because it was on when I bought it.
No mate I just check it once a month when I check the oil and when it starts looking a bit more than just grubby I remove clean and refit as in the video, It's built for it so I like to keep all our cars running spot on, over kill probably but better than th alternative lol.
@@thestanleysadventures8229 i let id dry for 2 hours in the sun, the outside is still leaving red marks on my gloves when i touch it but the inside is dry
@MonkeyBusinessJA inside should be dry because you only spray on the outside of the filter, your meant to alow it to whick off before re installing it, I tend to leave it over night just for good measure, but a good couple of hours should be fine, also don't ring your cars ne k straight off, just cruise for a few miles to let the oil permeate through, the cold air will help with drying and you don't want to cover your caff sensor with filter oil, hope this helps mate
Hi, kind of but when running any water that lands on it will be drawn through it due to the vacuum of the intake, but when not running yes it will definitely be pretty water proof from light rain and that, hope that helps 👍🏻
It's the Ramair specifically for the 2.0tdi Audi tt, but most of the vag group platforms of those years are the same, Seat leon, mk5 golf and audi A3, same intake, got the air filter oil from ebay.
@thestanleysadventures8229 okncool I just looked and they seem to do 2 sorts I take it the early mk2 tts had 80mm maff housing and maybe later mk2tt or mk3 had the other version ..one is at £245 and one is at £190
@@roguetrooper1000 ours was £180, I didn't know they changed the size of the maff in the mk3 to be honest, that's a big price difference for only larger piping.
@Seven Oso oh wow bet that was hanging ! Worst case if it's badly dirty your cars not breathing properly so not fueling properly, but that's it as long as it was oiled, if not oiled that's a lot of debris going in your motor😱
@Seven Oso personally over night but the instructions say 30 mins to an hour, It's up to you but the longer you leave it the less likely it'll be dragged through and ruin you MAF sensor
Fantastic video, straight the point with no waffle!
Thanx mate 👍🏻 glad it helped

Great glad it helped 👍🏻 how much rubbish came outv your filter? I always do it in the sink so you can see how much it was needed
I’m going to do this tomorrow afternoon after work 👍👍👍👍top man thanks for sharing 👍👍👍👍
My pleasure mate good luck, let me know how you get on? Any questions feel free to ask 👍🏻
Great video mate

Did you notice any difference with this kit compared to oem?? Or oem with panel filter??

Thanks , I didn't know if my revo foam air filter needed a air oil filter spray
Yeah mate 100% without it all the dust grit and fine sand can get through and wreck your turbo or engine internals!
Think I need a wee now
Did you have any running issue because the filter was dirty?

I cleaned and oiled mine with k&n cleaning kit, we have the same filter but mine turned red when i oiled it. Is it ruined?
No mate don't panic, K&N oil is red, so as long as you've not put to much on your fine, that's how it should look 👍🏻

Hey, when I bought the ramair filter, it doesn’t have this oil. Is this needed?
Should've been pre oiled mate, but if not 100% oil it first, I wouldn't recommend fitting it without oiling it first that's for sure.
hi! with the oil on, is it waterproof? i mean some op water nothing heavy, is it good?

@@thestanleysadventures8229 thank you so much, i just ordered one 30 mins ago, any details for it? does it make a better sound/horsepower?
@mlh_detailing4330 great induction sound, I doubt any noticeable power gain but deff better throttle response to 👍🏻
Which kit is that ?? I looked on eBay and they seem different

That's what I got for ours mate, but obviously if yours is a mk3 I'm not so sure.
@thestanleysadventures8229 mines a mk2 2014 pick up next week .was gonna pre order some parts but I think I will wait till car on my drive
How often?
I check it monthly and wash when it's starting to look grubby, it's a personal thing I'd rather be over the top a bit than risk damage.
