There's a chilling scene at 54:30 where they line everyone up in a ditch to murder them. Considering what's about to happen in Europe in the late 1930's, it's prophetic in it's own way. Love the moral lessons these westerns bring to the story.

I guess I should avoid looking at the credits before watching the movie; as soon as I see the character listed who Morris Ankrum portrays, it is inevitable to conclude that he is somewhere in the top (usually the lead villain) of the troublemakers in the movie!
Still, really enjoy the movie all the same!

I saw one where he was a good guy! But I love the scene starting at 33:11 where Hoppy suspects him cause he is usually the bad guy.
