    Just love that beginning scene. Just shows Marv's incredible power and the will driving him on. That creaking and groaning of the steel bars as he bends them, the crumbling of the bricks and morter as it starts to give. The comedic "CLONK" when the bars and section of wall falls upon him stands up, dusts himself off..."lets go." Dont think you can get more badass as Marv!!!!!

    • @MioRaem
      @MioRaem Год назад +1

      Agreed. However, I always thought there's also a certain humor in this film that was utterly absent from the graphic novel. Perhaps it was a byproduct of the now moving images, of the various performances. In this scene, I wouldn't have minded if Marv, as he gets up after falling down with the bars, lets out a little "Ouch". Then turned around and said, "let's go." It's not a big thing, but I think it would have offered a tiny glimpse of humanity in all the carnage he dishes out. But no biggie, Rourke carried this film either way.

      It makes sense. Cops were given orders to bring him in alive if possible. Same reason the lil freak Harry Potter puts him in cage instead of finishing him. They wanted to paint him as killer of whores in order to relieve pressure on Kevin and his patron Rourke.

    Now Mickey Rourke really looks like that in real life that he didn’t even have to wear special effects make up in the movie.

      This isn't a movie that pretends to be "realistic", if you view it that way.. you missed the whole point of the movie. Might as well watch game of thrones and say.. this is dumb, dragons don't exist.

    • @chewcacachewpipi8879
      @chewcacachewpipi8879 9 месяцев назад

      @@chadlaflamme7942 Hate to break it to you, buddy. But part of the fun of these movies is that they indeed do put some emphasis of realism while having characters do insane things, that said its still a terrible gimmick to just have a bunch of goons standing there doing nothing as some random guy starts taking out their friends one by one when they have a clear as day opportunity to lay him out easily. I take it you’re that one guy that whines “x has zombies in it so who cares” when the existence of something unreal actually makes the real things feel more legit. So nice fallacy.
