Perhaps it was a byproduct of the now moving images, of the various performances. In this scene, I wouldn't have minded if Marv, as he gets up after falling down with the bars, lets out a little "Ouch". Then turned around and said, "let's go." It's not a big thing, but I think it would have offered a tiny glimpse of humanity in all the carnage he dishes out. But no biggie, Rourke carried this film either way.
Marv is a titular Barbarian stereotype thrown into modern times. I often compare him to Conan the barbarian added a few psychotic tendencies about coats....
Lucille was to naive, she genuinely believed in the justice system of Basin City which was corrupted to the core, the Roarks control absolutely everything in the town, the Senator Roark even killed his own wife with a baseball bat and even left his own fingerprints in the scene just to prove he is untouchable.
I miss movies like this. Incompetent women making stupid decisions and getting humiliated or killed for it. A lot more realistic than how women are depicted in movies today. No wonder hollywood is dying.

Cause one LAPD officer his life, he was tasked with shooting the Mac-10 found by the gang-members but once he pulled the trigger the recoil ended up making the barrel go up, he lost control and ended up blowing his head off.

The best can be done is to have a friend in times of need....we all do. Help someone who is down for a second chance. I rather no one goes through that but if you can come out alive then there is hope.
Guy is a saint compared to most of hollywood. Baffling why people have always given him such a hard time. His looks going downhill so badly wasn't even all down to drug use either, he had unfixable injuries from boxing. Alot of people forget the guy wasn't just an actor he was a professional boxer.

This isn't a movie that pretends to be "realistic", if you view it that way.. you missed the whole point of the movie. Might as well watch game of thrones and say.. this is dumb, dragons don't exist.

I take it you’re that one guy that whines “x has zombies in it so who cares” when the existence of something unreal actually makes the real things feel more legit. So nice fallacy.

This was a complete puzzle. Without all the pieces of acting, directing, set design, production… it wouldn’t be what it is - a masterpiece.
