@@ayushlathwal8056 thing is with emulators, there's a lot of work arounds and such that require lots of different instruction sets n stuff, and just a lot can change performance without anyone knowing it's going to. I'd say the best thing to do is set it up, and then learn about what the settings do and go from there

@@rfgttg8715 this emulator isn't well optimized yet for the majority of hardware. If you want to play these games you could get a ps3. You can see in the description of the video, that those fps figures were achieved by i7s and i9s. The problem here is that you need raw performance to use emulators. Short answer is that your configuration of hardware is not enough to play uncharted 3 and the last of us.

I played this via the PSNow streaming service back then, terrible 720p and constant idle disconnects if you want to take little breaks. Screw that. I hope I can play TLOU again soon with RPCS3. :-)
I've completed all 3 games on ps4pro on 4k monitor and it doesn't look like 4k. It's 1080p or 1440p. It looks sharp and with good AA on 1080p monitor, but on 4k I can see it's just upscale
Really appreciate these projects but this is more like removal of effects which couldn't render correctly rather than those effects be fixed. I am hyped but would appreciate if it would be confirmed that these removed effects would be fixed(for accuracy) later rather than being always disabled
They'll eventually be fixed, but I also think it's worth pointing out that these are game patches, not hacks embedded into the emulator. The accuracy (and the work on accuracy) is not affected by these patches existing.
You can do that here using this mgs4 optimised fork of rpcs3 github.com/rajkosto/rpcs3/releases just make sure to make a new folder for it and to not merge with the main branch
Yeah rajkosto’s build is outdated and we want this sort of patch especially when some people actually want to remove some of the yellow fog effect present in the game

I remember being in school about 9 years ago I have a discussion with my friend about emulating consoles and he assured me there was an emulator of xbox360/ps3 but I knew that was impossible for that time and the one he found was virus or something like this. Only after year or something I've heard about RPCS3 which was only in beginning of development and here we are - 2020 and you can play in triple A games like Last of Us on your PC. Amazing work.

Thank God motion blur has finally been disabled. I can bear freezes, crashes, low fps or anything, but there's one thing I can't stand is motion blur (and it gets even more ugly at low fps). By disabling it you made all these games playable, at least for me. Thank you.
They don't cut out important fixes and improvements from public releases like yuzu to put it behind a paywall. I have more respect for the rpcs3 people, if I have some money to spare, I will be sure to give them money on patreon.

The yuzu team also fiinally released a pull request for the new multicore update but it can't be compiled by following their guide, so it's basically useless for everyone who isn't involved in the project at the moment.

So I can finally dump all my PS3 games (fat lady 80GB ftw) and start playing those games on my PC. The last good games Sony made aside from Uncharted 4 in my opinon (VR excluded).

The emulator uses a lot cpu like ps3, i hope they fix it and make the gpu work too, because my gpu only use 10% and the cpu uses 100%, I know the ps3 also uses a lot his cpu but this is insane
i think they will fix the stability and increase average FPS over time. However, l don't think that a 4-core-8-thread CPU will be enough even when RPCS3 reaches perfection stability-wise and performance-wise. Even though you can overclock it to 5.0Ghz and squeeze a little more FPS, it simply does not have enough cores. In my opinion, you will probably experience a lot of stuttering especially in very demanding games like God of War, Gran Turismo, The Last of Us, Uncharted etc etc. I went from i7 7700K to Ryzen 3900x recently, there is a huge difference (though you don't need 12 cores but rather 8 cores) i7 7700K was great for PS2 emulator, however l do believe that 8 cores is the sweet spot for RPCS3. Good news is, by the time RPCS3 reaches its best patch and stability, current high-end CPUs won't be considered high-end anymore hahah.

Awesome. I hate effects that blur the screen anyway, also motion blur, depth of field, film grain, chromatic aberration. Just to name a few, I hate. So disabling settings like this to get more performance is awesome.

This is great stuff. Love the videos. It is somewhat a shame that effects have to be disabled to achieve such performance, but perhaps in the future things will change and that won't be the case.
Anyone who has Uncharted 2 working well could you share what you are doing in terms of settings. I applied the patches. I'm getting like between 2 and 17FPS.
Will there be any updates to Infamous Series? It still runs kinda bad for me. Also, Will there be more updates to get more games to work in the emulator like Max Payne 3, Kill Zone Series, Etc. Etc.

Hi RPCS3 developers! How do you handle with patches for games? They are often not on disk, so only available for download in the PlayStation network. I don't have access to that, because I don't have a console. I just bought some PS3 games for the emulator. But so you can only play without the patches. Is it possible to get the patches from elsewhere and apply them in RPCS3? You should add a download archive on your website with the patches for games. All patches since the version that is on disk.
Ryzen 3900x , evga2080, 32Gb of ram and can't get close to the performance you have in uncharted 2, because I have a lot of fps drops almost every 5 seconds where the fps count drop from 60 to 5 and 2, I do need to tell you what it means, all the patches available aplied as well..what sort of budu are you using ?

These guys doing this for 3k/month and Sony, a mothefucking megacorporation with billions in R&D, said they couldn't do it for the PS5. It's infuriating.
Some games requires you to swing your PS3 controller around to make progress, like swinging the gamepad up and down, move it clock wise and so on. Tried the same games on a real PS3 it all worked smoothly there with same Dualshock 3 sixaxis controller. Obviously missing the correct drivers. Can someone help me get sixaxis to work ?
Too little too late. Not sure why I would want to play the ps3 version of TLOU on PC when I can already play it perfectly on my ps4... Maybe if it was 2013 and the remaster wasn't out yet I would care.
I wish The PS3 emulator didn't work in each case indivually and just increased overall fidelity of the hardware so we wouldn't have unpredictable exceptions, unless all those per game optimizations could be disabled.
And yet Sony, a multi-billion dollar corporation with all the necessary documentation and a brand new beefy console, can't do PS3 backwards compatibility with the PS5. Sure.
I cant bellieve how much effort these guys are putting into this emulator, and for free. You guys are amazing.

As a PC gamer, I find TLoU boring. Bought a PS specially for it and got disappointed.
Ironically PS4 Pro can get up to 4K 60FPS. I appreciate this but both games work perfectly fine on current console.

This is great stuff. Love the videos. It is somewhat a shame that effects have to be disabled to achieve such performance, but perhaps in the future things will change and that won't be the case.
Anyone who has Uncharted 2 working well could you share what you are doing in terms of settings. I applied the patches. I'm getting like between 2 and 17FPS.
Will there be any updates to Infamous Series? It still runs kinda bad for me. Also, Will there be more updates to get more games to work in the emulator like Max Payne 3, Kill Zone Series, Etc. Etc.

Amazing work this team is doing.. PCSX2 still has so many issues even after so many years of development.. I think by the end of this year, RPCS3 will be nearly perfect..

But Sony cant possibly do backwards compatibility for the PS3 because that would be "too difficult".... Just a laughable excuse seeing how well RPCS3 is now running! Sony really need to pull their head out and give us full backwards compatibility. These literally zero excuse for not implementing support for PS1 and PS2 and to start working on PS3 BC

Hi, I've tried playing uncharted 1 and 2, but it keeps on freezing just right after the first scene, i really want to know how i could fix it, please help i tried everything i found online.

Ryzen 5 3600
16gb ram
1050ti 4gb
game still freezes randomly. can't even make it past the prologue..ryzen 2600 at 3.7ghz and 1080ti 16gb ram

How do you handle with patches for games? They are often not on disk, so only available for download in the PlayStation network. I don't have access to that, because I don't have a console. I just bought some PS3 games for the emulator. But so you can only play without the patches.
Is it possible to get the patches from elsewhere and apply them in RPCS3?
You should add a download archive on your website with the patches for games. All patches since the version that is on disk.
Ryzen 3900x , evga2080, 32Gb of ram and can't get close to the performance you have in uncharted 2, because I have a lot of fps drops almost every 5 seconds where the fps count drop from 60 to 5 and 2, I do need to tell you what it means, all the patches available aplied as well..what sort of budu are you using ?
I have applied the patch as per instructions but still now it is stuck in loading screen after clicking on play button

wow, the last of us is not far away from being really really playable, and able to look 10x better than it ever did on the ps3 to boot. damn these devs are legends.

For what this ... ps3 system its very cheap at those days and easy to install hen .. dont see necesary to emulate this sistem.. but greate Work have done rpcs3 team .. Like it .
These guys doing this for 3k/month and Sony, a mothefucking megacorporation with billions in R&D, said they couldn't do it for the PS5. It's infuriating.
Some games requires you to swing your PS3 controller around to make progress, like swinging the gamepad up and down, move it clock wise and so on. Tried the same games on a real PS3 it all worked smoothly there with same Dualshock 3 sixaxis controller. Obviously missing the correct drivers. Can someone help me get sixaxis to work ?

Too little too late. Not sure why I would want to play the ps3 version of TLOU on PC when I can already play it perfectly on my ps4... Maybe if it was 2013 and the remaster wasn't out yet I would care.
I wish The PS3 emulator didn't work in each case indivually and just increased overall fidelity of the hardware so we wouldn't have unpredictable exceptions, unless all those per game optimizations could be disabled.
Or hear me out you can play TLOU remastered on PS4 1080p 60fps or 1440p 60 fps on PS4 pro

And yet Sony, a multi-billion dollar corporation with all the necessary documentation and a brand new beefy console, can't do PS3 backwards compatibility with the PS5. Sure.

The hardware to brute-force these games must be insanely powerful.
I just can't get past the initial video. Even the menu is very slow, unfortunately. AMD Ryzen 5 2600, RX 570 4G Armor OC, 8 GB DDR4.
