It's not about pure frames number. It's about percentage. 10 more fps when you were at 20fps it's 50% more, so obviously is going to be a huge difference. 10 more fps when you're at 130fps it's about only 7% more..

ZEROx custome build will give u more FPS if u have a i9 9900k and u use ZEROx build u can get locked 60fps I get between 15-40fps on my Ryzen 5 2600 with that build. Buying soon my Ryzen 7 3700X :)

NeThZOR but MGS 4 does run at full speed on certain hardware. That being said I do not ignore the fact that software optimization will make it playable on 8gb Ram, Gtx 1060 and average cpu.
You have the options to donate entry level 1$ on Patreon per month. That's not insignificant at all. If everyone who were watching is 1$ patreon, they would have 20k monthly payment and a possibility to hire even more programmers. Don't think about others. Do your 1$ (at least). These guys deserve it more than everybody else in emulation world right now, since we know how much of hell PS 3 as a hardware is!
Question for a dev: how much of an improvement do you expect to see once the emulator near the optimization of something like dolphin? In other words, is this more of a PC hardware limitation or is the emulator itself more responsible holding performance in some games back?
It was even tough for game developers to make/port games on the PS3 due to it's unique hardware. Work can only be hastened through donations, since emulation developing is a hobby, and as such takes time, but does not pay.
It is a combination of both, and more factors. The PS3 has a complex architecture and due to this, different games use different (and quirky) solutions and implementations under the hood to better extract the performance efficiently. The emulator aims to provide a PS3 environment that the games can run on top of while _at the same time_ doing so in the most efficient way on the host platform (your PC), utilizing any capabilities available to do so. This PS3 environment aims to be _compatible_ as much as possible - a very arduous and challenging task since some optimizations on the emulator could improve all the games while some improve issues on some games while they break others. A faster PC will overall improve performance such as the frame-rate, but this would likely break some games and the emulator needs to take into account for this. It is overall a challenge to create an emulator let alone a PS3 emulator. It continues to flabbergast me that this is actually happening.
I recently got a new pc that can finally run this emulator and i have got to say that the work on this emulator is just so great and i really want to see this emulator getting better and better in the time from today
The amount of hate the game gets in the internet is insane. But it is one of the best games I've ever had the chance to experience, and I was 11 years late.
Sonic unleashed runs pretty well on my setup. 40-50 FPS reliably. But on a side note, that game is wayyyyy less fun than i remember it from my childhood lmao

I am playing god of war 3 and had completed till beating Hercules no issues so far, and getting a solid 25 fps My spec i7 8700k,gtx 1060 6gb, 16gb Thanx Rpcs3 for all the hardwork you guys are doing . Like wise i had completed Dantes Inferno which was actually ingame but i was able to play without any problem getting fps ranging 35 to 40.played Asuras wrath,Wet,50cent blood on the sand,splatterhouse,army of two and for red dead redemption there was some issue with the audio. Now looking 4wrd on uncharted series.and once again thanx for the wonderfull jobs u guys r doing
I wanna download the latest build just to see if Armored Core Verdict Day is already playable. Last time I checked it had unloaded textures and massive hanging issues. Also, the PS3 port of Daytona USA has a huge where the game runs fine but the graphics are extremely corrupted and textures flickering. I fixed it by setting the CPU to the slowest setting but well, it is obviously pretty slow. It's a shame, that port is the best version of the game. Still though, this emulator has come a long way. You guys are doing great work, thank you!
Hi guys. I am trying to check the new improvements to MGS4. I am using this new emulator version + the custom configurations for MGS4 made available earlier + "relaxed zcull sync" setting. Now I cannot even start a new game. I have also tried the same thing with the default settings but only changing open gl to Vulkan and enabling "relaxed zcull sync". Does someone also has this issue?

What settings are you supposed to use for Skate 3? I have an issue where the player and NPC models won't render, only the clothes with Vulkan. But choosing OpenGl completely tanks the performance.

It's decent with Ryzen 3000. Hopefully Zen 3's IPC and cross-CCX latency will beat Intel's higher clock speeds since they're refreshing Skylake yet again this year

You can perfectly play Code Veronica from start to finnish on ps2 emulator. Probably on Dreamcast emulator too.
