Great talks interestingly enough listening to a breakdown of why we never got Hogan and Flair at Mania 8 was because the house show audiences going through late 91 and early 92 craped on the match. It convinced Vince that while I know all tge best names in the business, maybe my audience doesn't know who Ric Flair is because the numbers don't show it. Which explains why for a long time Vince would change people's gimmicks. Doesn't explain em all but for many years Vince thought the WWE audience didn't watch anything else and them dumping on Hogan and Flair coming off their runs in the 80's kinda makes a great point.

I’m with Konnan. Vince has used TV time to grind his axes and humiliate people. There’s the instance in 2009 where Raw had to be moved from the Pepsi center because the Denver Nuggets made it to the playoffs. So Vince rewrote Raw to bury the Denver Nuggets and their owner. Of course he would bury WCW. I mean, he made the Self Destruction of Ultimate Warrior documentary which is another example of spending money to bury someone or people.

Speaking Of Kiss A$$, That’s How The Undertaker Got Over And I Found Out In Early 1999 That Wrestlers Had To Sleep With Vince McMahon To Become WWE Stars & The Undertaker & ShawN Michaels Slept With Vince. Undertaker Mad He Wasn’t Pushed In WCW Rightfully Because He Wasn’t Big Enough Or Built. He Was A Tad Bit Muscular In WCW. Once He Went To The WWE, Those Lil Muscles Went Away. I never heard that Steiner and Undertaker was in the table, I'd believe it from a Nov. 02 through Jan. 03 mindset idea. But everything I heard was Rumble Steiner wins by DQ, gets rematch at No Way Out loses by interference, gets one last chance at Mania by putting career on the line and wins which we see recycled for Goldberg later thst year. However the matches were so bad he was pulled and they said let's put Booker in his place sense H and him have fin matches but because it's an audible H obviously wins to go and do his stuff with Nash.

I think Goldberg was too dependent on his undefeated streak that after his first loss, it was all downhill from there. He was still relevant in WCW somewhat, but it was mainly due to the residual aura he had from the streak and the fact that he was basically the first new guy they had on the Main Even scene since The Giant. In the WWE they had to reference the streak several times just to prop him up a bit because the character really did not have anything else.

One two guys I can agree a DDP that seemed way too odd for it not to be a burial but so many others just didn't click with the audience, the Royal Rumble crowd booed Steiner out of the building after he kicked the crap out of Triple H for 30 minutes. No matter what Goldberg did it was snake bit, yet Goldberg beat Rock, Jericho, Triple H, and Brock Lesnar on PPV, and beat H for the title. Unfortunately so many other guys from WCW as crazy as it sounds they got in their own way from the sounds. Yet Booker T, Rey Mysterio, Eddie Guerrero, Kevin Nash, Jericho, Torrie Wilson, Stacy Keibler, etc just as many names that didn't get over also got over and ate Hall of Famers.

DI of course Vince McMahon saw Dusty stuff growing up. Dusty worked the WWWF territory on and off for 5-years. dusty battled Superstar billy graham (when graham was champ) twice in MSG for WWWF when Vince was working with the company.

I can see both sides having some validity to them. Im sure there was guys Vince intentionally buried, and some that just couldn't get over. Of course people in Miami loved Dusty. He made his name in FCW and Eddie Graham tried to give him a piece of the company

The idea that Vince didn’t intentionally bury WCW guys is disingenuous and laughable. Diamond Dallas Page was over the moon and was buried beneath the rubble. Booker T was made into a buffoon and had to be apart of all these step and fetch storylines in order to get a push. Sting had to job to HHH at WrestleMania, and we WCW fans are supposed to believe it wasn’t intentional or that Vince didn’t have it out for WCW guys? Okay yeah right. And WWE isn’t burying WCW til this day either huh….sure.

DDP was totally punked - stupid gimmick and he was an awesome babyface but untested as a heel wrestler. Steiner was pitted against HHH at a time when his dropfoot syndrome affected his performances and Trips was chewing up everyone set before him and wasn’t allowed to look weak. Seriously, armwrestling matches? Boring as hell and even though Hunter had a physique, he was never presented as a powerhouse … he was presented as a technician. More like Ric Flair than Lex Luger.

Thousands of other instances of petty get backs in the wrestling business and we think THIS is a bridge too far? They can justify it by saying they are using them to get their own guys over. Yes, they're all their own guys, but Vince wouldn't let that get in his way
