@J G a genuine question, why do you spend countless hours going around watching hundreds of AFL videos, to paste your silly comments on soccer? What are you trying to achieve? What satisfaction are you possibly getting from all this time spent? I'm genuinely curious now; so Im being polite here? Care to answer?

I was at that game, but as a neutral fan it wasn't a great spectacle. In fact I didn't remember any of the game until I watched this. I did however clearly recall Helen Dominico, who jumped the fence right in front of us!

I don't know if there was a free kick in it, but I'd have given her one.

After 5 flags and countless finals in the period 1967-82, you would have had a zillion to one on the Tigers playing finals only twice in the following 30 seasons !

I’m a Pies fan, but it was unfathomable at the time.
The poaching wars between our two clubs caused a lot of damage for both clubs. It took Richmond longer to recover from it.

And the Tigers deserved to be in solitary confinement from 1982 onwards - they self destructed after this Grand Final.

Wins against Richmond mean more to me than wins against Collingwood. This was a very torrid grand final with no quarter given by both teams. I still reckon Johnston was best on ground. Rioli played a good cameo, similar to Stewsrt Dew in 2008, but Johnston was on for the full game.
