Something people pointed out online is that technically, Sentinel Prime invented racism on Cybertron. He manufactured a way to separate people into groups and discriminate against those groups. Edit for all those saying it's class discrimination, I'm referring to the part of making a group of bots be cogless, a PHYSICAL TRAIT to discriminate through. Sure, a trait forced upon a bunch of bots through artificial means, but outside of Sentinel Prime's circle, everyone thought it was a naturally occurring physical trait that separated them. "Cogless bots with limited options" comes to mind for example
@LituLate while the profession is more of a class thing, being cog-less is a physical trait. Artificially done, of course, hence the "Sentinel made racism", but still a physical trait to discriminate a group through.
I mean it's not impossible, maybe, somewhere out there, there really is energy flowing through metal, regenerating, healing, taking it's shape and doing something We're carbon based beings i think? Well there's other elements out there
I am 42 years old. I know transformers in and out. I know optimus and megatron intimately. I was still on the verge of tears watching transformers one and the two of them become rivals.
Ah, mahn, you know the movie is good when even spoilers can't ruin the emotional value. I was so devastated, I'd say around half an hour after the movie I was still ranting to my people about how sad I am 😂😂😭
@@duskytalkzIt's the beauty of new continuities within a property, you may know the destination but the journey to it is different, and I think as a transformers fan myself that makes it all the more tragic
I am so glad that we finally got to see such an important part of their backstory that often gets glossed over on the big screen with the focus it deserves. It was beautifully tragic.
EXACTLY ITS HORRIBLY PAINFUL TO SEE THAT, You know them so well that watching their origin happen before your eyes makes you helpless and utterly devastated
never understood why most TF entries need intrusive humans taking the spotlight when the transformers themselves are already human enough. Just look at how kids reacted at Optimus's death in the '86 movie, for them it was like he was a real person that was part of their lives.
The reason why there are humans is that you can’t keep the budget down if you have 2h30m of live action CGI robots esp in 2007. The reason why there are intrusive humans is because of Michael Bay
@@jacliffh9221 the main flaw in pretty much all Bay movies and not only Transformers is his obsession with worshipping the american military as much as possible
Something I thought was interesting is you can see D-16's mental change in his physiology He starts with yellow eyes, that when he unlocks his Fusion Cannon have a tinge of orange to them. By the time he attempts to kill Sentinel, they're completely orange. Potentially signifying a loss of innocence, but still fighting for what was right. When D-16 struggles with his thoughts, holding Orion by the forearm, you can see the light behind him fade away, he seemingly calms down and his eyes turn red. Giving in to his anger and letting Orion go. But even at the end of the film there were still some signs that D-16 hadn't fallen completely. By the end of their big fight Megatron looked as if he had been crying, and the way his eyes flickered in shock even for just a moment when Optimus banished him from Iacon. This film deserved wayyyy better marketing
O wow, the attention to detail, I'll go back and check it that's so cool, I did like that their eyes are different colors and I did like the change into red but I totally missed the orange hues, that's so cool. Some other commenter mentioned that the team behind tf one invested a lot in the facial expressions of the characters and it makes sense that they would put effort into their eyes, too. Also I agree it deserved better marketing. I really hope our support is enough and we get a sequel because I'm so invested ㅠㅠ Also also thank you so much for dropping a comment ^-^
The yellow optic is interesting, as it is original Megatron toy's eye color (the one with fitting ID number: 16) Now the only way to make this movie even more thematically perfect is to have Orion also start with yellow optic (also in his G1 toy), to notify that they were once brother in arms but took diferent path as they grown into the leaders we know & love.
I WANTED TO CRY SO BADLY PLEASE I KNEW I WASNT THE ONLY ONE SEEING THE FLICKERING LIGHT IN HIS EYES WHEN HE WAS BANISHED LIKE- The disbelief that it came from his own friend. And I remember the monologue he had before he and Elite, Orion, and Bee were caught by the High Guards he said something along the lines of “I will never trust a so-called Prime again. Unless it’s-“ AND IT PAUSES AND MY BRAIN WENT “Oh my god he’s gonna say “Unless it’s you” TO ORION WHICH HURTS- And another thing I wanna add bc the fact that Orion said “Don’t be like Sentinel” to Dee and he looked surprised before getting angry when he was abt to kill Sentinel made me so irritated in a good sense like YOU CANT SAY THAT TO SOMEONE WHOS BEEN LIED TO AND MAKE THEM BELIEVE WHAT THEYRE DOING IS SIMILAR TO A MONSTER WORSE THAN BOTH OF THEM istg everything here in this movie is beautiful. To quote a YT channel who watched the movie; “The Bayverse was like ‘You know that source material? Let’s ignore it’ but meanwhile Transformers One was like ‘You know that source material? Let’s honor that’.”
Something that always bothered me in many transformers series is that they think they need humans to help people relate to the transformers, when you can just show the humanity of the tranformers.
I mean Bumblebee and Rise of the Beasts did a pretty good job of it. It's not that they NEED humans to show their humanity, it's that we see two kindred spirits from worlds apart bonding with each other in the face of adversity. But Bumblebee and Mirage alike get to have plenty of humanity and relatability to them, both being loveable fun-loving Autobots with the loyalty to risk themselves for their friends.
Not every Series has intrusive Humans, Animated from 2007, The War For Cybertron Netflix Trilogy And the War And Fall of Cybertron Games really do a good job telling Transformers stories without Humans (well, the WFC Netflix show Is Kinda mid but that's a Disscusion For Another moment)
The way I heard it, they spent a lot of time on facial expressions, and it paid off in a big way. You can definitely see the metaphorical gears turning, and can clearly see what someone is thinking in the quiet moments.
Actually that makes perfect sense, woah. Because I remember one of my first thoughts being, those guys have faces of steel or something and non-human eyes, how are they going to emote and then boom, they did, and it was noticable, I'd look at them admiring the sunrise and I'd think to myself those facial expressions are so intricate that's so cool so now hearing that this is something they specifically put effort into, makes perfect sense. Thanks for the fun info and for dropping a comment ^-^
Aside from the fact transformers are basically sentient lifeform that have spark (their soul) with metal body, there's no doubt that this movie were truly made with heart and soul, from those who really care about the franchise. They even did a great job humanize the bots compared to Michael Bay Transformers movies. And to us Transformers fans, this movie is a breath of fresh air because of the decision to not include humans and take place solely in their home planet Cybertron. It said they are going to make a trilogy, I can't wait for the sequel!
O my, it'll be a trilogy, that's so exciting, I'm fully invested in their storylines, this info made my day :')) also thank you for dropping a comment, appreciate it ^-^
I've seen some people say D-16's turn to Megatron was abrupt and out of nowhere but after seeing the movie a few times I think they handled it well and it felt believable. There were many moments where you could see on his face and almost feel what he was wrestling with internally on top of the shift in language he used throughout the film using more "I, Me and My" while Pax consistently used more "I, We and Us" statements
There are three important things to remember about D-16 even when he was still a good guy: he's a stickler for rules and just wants to do what he needs to do, he's often frustrated at Orion for constantly doing reckless stuff that get both of them in trouble, and that, while genuinely a good-intentioned bot, has the tendency to put his own feelings ahead of others when in difficult situations. And while minor character flaws on their own, once he learns the truth they become the seeds of darkness in his spark, and it all comes to a point where he thinks killing Sentinel is "what needed to be done", Orion recklessly gets in the way and frustrating him one final time, and being so focused on his own anger and hate that he puts it first before Orions rational point of view.
I thought the simple method of gradually changing the colouration of his eyes, from bright yellow moving through orange to finally the deep red, was a good way of showing the audience his shift in outlook and personal philosophy
how many times do we hear D-16 from the beginning talk about being violent? "I'd transform into a shovel and beat you" "How about I kill you for waking me up" "If this is a trick, I'm going to smelt your face off" "If we survive this, I'm going to kill you" It's jokes and sarcasm and banter, but I think it's intentional to plant the seed that his first instinct when angered is thinking about violence, and that his frustration is usually directed at Orion. The anger was always there but he suppressed it with faith in Sentinel and the idea that his lot in life was worthwhile for the greater good.
I remember one of the writer's of the Obi-wan Kenobi series complaining about having to lead the story to the beginning of Star Wars: A New Hope, for continuity, and basically admitted that they ignored the lore and hoped people wouldn't notice, creating a canon breaking mess. This movie also had a result it had to get to, the beginning of the Cybertronian Wars, but unlike in Obi-wan, they actually managed it and to make it make sense. There is an old saying, 'Genius through adversity', limits bring something out of the creator, you write more character development when you only have two characters and an empty room to work with, if you limited to only write about one planet in a galaxy spanning IP, then make that planet something worth telling a story about. Good writers make something out of nothing, bad writers make nothing out of something.
Good writers make something out of nothing, bad writers make nothing out of something" is an absolutely fire quote, so true, thanks for the insight and for dropping a comment ^-^
I agree with you. TF One had a result the writers had to get to, and they managed to make their version work. While also showing incredible respect towards the already existing lore. TF One is just an amalgamation of several lore pieces/story arcs taken from a ton of different TF continuities. Like Megatron's D-16 low class mining bot origin is from the IDW comics, just like the Cybetronian class/caste system (they also made these lore elements far less dark than they were in IDW, but it works). Orion's D's close friendship was introducedin the Aligned continuity (WFC games, TFP, several Transformers novels), just like Sentinel being a puppert ruler, ruling over a very corrupt almost dystopian society. (Sentinel did not had the Matrix, but was put into power by the Senate) The lore about the Primes was also inspired by their Aligned continuity counterparts, just like Starcsream's backstory. The Quintessons are form the G1 series, just like the lore of the cogless transformers unable to transform doing slave labour for the Quintessons.
@@dragon091327 It's so weird that one of the producers for this movie (can't remember his name) said in an interview that this was a prequel to the Michael Bay films. Was he even paying attention to the writing? I won't go into detail as it could spoil some people, but there are characters and objects in this movie that are so vastly different from the versions we saw in the Bay films that there is no way this can be the same continuity. Also, while TF One takes liberties with the Transformers lore, it's also obvious that the people making it have a deep understanding and respect for the source material. When you see things that differ from previous iterations, it's always something that makes sense and doesn't screw up anything.
What’s also interesting about Cybertron’s surface in this movie, that it does completely different from other versions of Cybertron in TF media, is how the landscapes and geo-structure is constantly shifting around. They make it clear Cybertron is made from the body of their god, Primus. So it’s like Primus’ body is constantly shifting and reshaping itself.
It also comes through a lot in how they mined. It reminds me of how they needed similar splints in the analogue horror “mystery flesh pit national park” They are mining into a living thing, its going to heal up stuff like that
And how there's Even Organic vegetation on the surface. sure, the planet Is the metallic body of a God, but life finds a way, no matter What type or kind of life we're talking.
My theory for the surface constantly shifting, was Meant as a natural defense matrix to keep things In while keeping danger’s out. Somebody from Sentinel’s Fleet had to find an area less active so they could make a trade to the Quintessons. To me that explains why they’ve been gone so long. The drop site keeps changing because the living defense landscape keeps changing.
One thing I want to say is. A world doesn't need to be realistic to be believable, it needs to be consistent. TF One almost never breaks its own rules. The only thing kind of unbelievable was the way the found the S.O.S. and that was something can still be explained away, just not as good as other things. Its consistant with how different they portray miner life vs transformer life, its consistant when they go up to the surface, and its consistant when they return. Never in the movie did I have to ask myself "Why didnt they do this".
Yeah, that's an absolutely fair point to make, world consistency is crucial. Maybe in my mind consistent behaviors that are logical feel realistic (to me) but now that you pointed it out I see I could've worded my statements better. Thank you for dropping a comment, really appreciate it ^-^
@@duskytalkz I think you made great points about relating the world to things you likely have seen in real life, and how that makes a place feel familiar or normal..
"Realism" over "consistency" is honestly a concept that has been ruined by Cinemasins, ngl. People now complain about the most ridiculous things in movies as if expecting it to obey the rules of our world rather than its own.
One thing that always made Transformers special is that while robots that transform and combine are hardly an original concept, they stood out in that rather than being glorified vehicles and weapons, the Transformers themselves were the characters. Optimus Prime is not just a Gundam or a Megazord: he has thoughts, feelings, relationships, beliefs and character development. And one problem with the live-action films is that, more often than not, the Transformers were treated more like props for action sequences than actual characters: many of the Decepticons in particular don't even speak and act as generic monsters that exist solely to be obstacles for the Autobots to defeat. Which is why Transformers One ends up being so refreshing and such a nice change of pace: we get to see these robots as characters rather than props. We get to se how they change, grow and form, or break, relationships. We often hear throwaway lines about how Optimus and Megatron were once "brothers", but here we actually see it. We see tight the bond between the two used to be, we saw them in silly situations, playfully bickering and being snarky with each other, like actual friends in real life: making it sting all the harder when we see their friendship inevitably break apart.
Transformers has so sincerely unite the giant robots with the characters in a setting like mecha, honestly, it is unfair how amazing it is conceptually
The moment where D-16, now Megatron, calls his bestfriend, "Prime" you know it's over. He's lost his heart and all he saw in Optimus was a major obstacle to be conquered.
TF One made me feel alot. XD The journey D-16/Megatron goes trough is a controversial one. Some people say it was perfect, other said it was rushed. I think it made sense. I grew up in a cult. And everything D/Megatron said in the second part of the movie is something I have said back then after I figured out how cruel/evil the cult I was part of was. (somethimes word for word) Even when he faults Orion for going up on the surface, which led them figuring out the truth made sense for me. I saw a ton of people not understanding why he was blaming Orion but people in cults often try not to notice, acknowledge the little controversies/bad things in their communities to protect themselves. Also about Iacon reminding people of motherboards is a very interesting. According to the TF lore just like the whole planet is a Transformer (Primus), the cities the regular sized robots live in are often huge Transformers themselves, called Metrotitans, who did transform into multi leveled cities. There are even special transformers who mastered of communicating, and controlling these behemoth metrotitans, calle the citispeakers (like Windblade)
I really appreciate you sharing your experience especially on such a sensitive topic, I found it to be realistic, too, having your whole life be a lie is so mind shattering and sometimes the lie hurts less than reality. My observations on this matter were based on what I've seen in other people but having someone who's been through it confirm the logic behind D-16's behavior really gives it gravity. I'm so sorry for what you had to go through and I hope you're better now, you deserve lots of happiness in your life now and ahead. Edit: Thanks for the transformers lore insight, I'll definitely have to catch up with their whole universe and watch the other movies :dd
@@duskytalkz I'm ok now, I left the community a decade ago. :) Just a tip, you won't find a lots of lore in the movies. :) Michael Bay just did what he wanted, and kind of disregarded most of the lore. But IDW had some very good storylines (not all of that is good, they have their lows), but the current Skybound Transformers comics are so good that it actually outsold Batman, and other very popular DC, and Marvel comcis. :) The Transformers Prime series is very good too (tho the series starts very slow) but the second and third season are excellent.
NO SERIOUSLY, D-16 hurts me so much bc he reminded me so much when I was younger when I realized my father was abusive and all those years under him wasted my life. I was angry, I lashed out, I made some pretty bad decisions. Eventually over time I calmed, healed, and realized my own wrongs. D-16 didnt get to have that privilege of time and low-stakes bc everything was rushed to happen to him - he didn't have time to calm down, he didn't have time to talk to Orion, not to mention, he had access to a very big gun and interacted w people who encouraged his worst impulses, so I'm distraught but not surprised why his path went on a very dark turn and made terrible mistakes he can't take back. Idk, there's people who want a full villain Megatron, but tbh I hoped he'd get some redemption, or at the very least, some peace of mind :(
I also had similar thoughts when I saw their reactions to D-16’s arc, but I hope to see Omega Supreme and Trypticon in the second movie and Metroplex in the third! With Megatron banished from Iacon it’s likely he’ll head for Kaon possibly with Trypticon’s help…
@@Mike-mf3ed That wouold be pretty cool. Tho it was not specified in the movie that Kaon/other city states exist or not in the TF One universe. Also Nemesis, Megatron's fabled ship also has a robot mode, and a pretty powerful one.
I'm so glad this movie was as good as it was, and I'm so sad it hasn't done super well financially. I'd love to see what the return of Energon does to Cybertron's ecosystem. If there are Cybertronian Deer walking around, that probably means the Insecticons and possibly even the Dinobots are elsewhere. If they focus on rebuilding, then that could lead to Metroplex and Trypticon being built. But what has me really excited probably wouldn't show up until a 3rd movie rolls around. In the very beginning of Transformers One, when we learn that Primus became Cybertron, we learn why he did it and it's easy to gloss over. He turned into a planet to protect their universe, which begs the question: protect it from what? I mean, we Transformers fans know EXACTLY what it needs protecting from, but the fact that they included that right from the start is very exciting. Also, one of the things I noticed, as far as I can remember, is that Sentinel Prime never actually transforms into a vehicle. I think it's a testament to his character that he's both unwilling to change and that he probably believes being a vehicle is beneath him anyway.
Ooo that Sentinel Prime bit that you noticed is sooo cooool, that's such a nice observation. Of course I can't make absolute conclusions from one comment but the way you speak is very interesting and analytical, you'd probably do great at analysing and discussing stuff in an entertaining way. Thank you so much for dropping a comment, really appreciate it ^-^
Plus the only time we do see Sentinel’s vehicle mode is as a toy. AKA, the designers had to give him an alt mode to allow him to actually be included in the film’s accompanying toyline
honestly id consider his alt mode to be when he beefs up and gets larger as it represents his gigantic ego quite literally making him higher then other people
Going into the movie I knew Sentinel was going to be the "twist" villain due to his history in the franchise, but it was part of what kept me so engaged, seeing the characters react as they slowly uncover the truth and how it slowly drove the wedge further into their relationship. It's captivating like watching a train wreck knowing you can't stop the inevitable end but you care for both D16 and Orion so you wish it could end differently.
Honestly it’s nice seeing a fresh perspective of this movie from someone who isn’t in the know of the greater Transformers lore beyond the shows, films, and comics. Seeing how you happy you saw Orion Pax and D-16’s friendship was before they fell apart and became enemies as Optimus Prime and Megatron was grest to see; especially compared to me where I had this big sense of unease of if they would actually show the falling out between these two, knowing the bots they would become when the eventual war between Autobots and Decepticons eventually begins
I was feeling creatively dead inside, and finally accepted I was going to feel empty forever; that I was at the end of what good I could find in life aside from a few indie episodes a year. Then this silly robot show called "Murder Drones" had a finale that struck something in me. Now, it's set me on a new path, bringing out 3 years of a hollowing heart to now crying over the smallest things. Most of which is indie animation. Last week I saw The Wild Robot. I feel the person I was before is still alive. I see now age has nothing to do with it. No art can pass in this world without a soul. Disney doesn't want art, they want an easy quarterly earnings.
common indie W, art that does impact emotions and/or perspective is usually more memorable than "products" made with erroneous statistics and the suits applying "risk-free movies" equal or worse than what they already did before
put this on in the background while working, and did a double take when my comment was read out!. even as a casual tf enjoyer, its easy to dismiss things like this as franchise slop designed to sell toys. but I agree with your statements wholeheartedly. storytelling is universal. and when its good, it still has the power to enchant us. yours is such a fresh and optimistic take on the video essay format. I hope your channel blows up one of these days.
Ahaha that's so funny, yeah you had left a cool comment couldn't pass it by. Yeah I was surprised by the quality of the story but now to think about it, the toy franchises do be putting effort :dd if we are to trust my childhood memory the og barbie was fire, Lego Ninjago too, idk it's kinda wholesome. After all Disney's also is trying to sell us merchendisable stuff, and clothes and amusement parks, might as well put some effort into their characters while at it :dd p.s. thanks so so much for the sweet wishes, really appreciate it 🤗
Tf one holds it characters accordable. Unlike strange world that didn't punish the grandpa for **Abandoning** his son for more than 20 years of his life Sentinel dies. No if and or buts He did something wrong and no one pretends hes reasonable. Megatrons reasons make sense but he goes too far he wasn't going be a good leader
That is soooo very true, tf one holds its characters accountable is such a great way to put it. I know Disney wants to have happy endings and to wrap everything up in a pretty happy bow but actually, introducing consequences would benefit their characters so much.
Since I have watched many Transformers works, I have to say that Megatron is a reliable leader in most of the works, much more reliable than Starscream. Starscream can only play tricks, but lacks foresight. Megatron is ambitious, but he also has leadership ability. The biggest difference between Megatron and Starscream is that Megatron will actually rush to the front line for the ultimate goal, he will use everyone, but at the same time he knows where his responsibilities are, and he will not shirk his responsibilities. Starscream is the complete opposite, which is why Starscream has hardly ever successfully led the Decepticons.
Megatron is perfect for war and we still have the Quintesson Menace. Optimus is more for Peace Time and even then he doesn't have what it takes to do what is necessary as Dark of the Moon Sentinel said.
@GeometryEX-hp9zs ya I agree absolutely but i was more saying he's was just going be another angry evil leader like sentinel Unlike Orion who is a good leader
I find the totally hilarious since I'm not a robot fan (Baymax being the exception). But anyway, I really think Disney's struggling with brand expansion/image. In the 2010s, they had movies that were the company's first to reach $1 billion. This, along with the fact that Pixar and Dreamworks had been making successful sequels for years, likely contributed to sequel fever for Disney. Now, they're desperate to keep emulating the "vibe." They've failed to master being exploratory AND being Disney. At this point, corporate is too afraid to let their creatives do their job, instead trying to focus on how well it fits the brand.
This is so on point, them trying to fit a vibe, and it comes off as so forced like, be the vibe don't try to fit the vibe, ahah so sad. But yeah you absolutely hit the nail on the head with all of your points. I am hopeful that they'll be forced at some point, to let their creatives do their magic, but for now we're stuck in the land of mediocrity :d
Idk, Disney had a ton of sequels before 2010. Like they made sequels for almost all for their classics, like Little Mermaid, Cinderella, Pocahontas, Peter Pan, Bambi II, Tarzan II, Lady and the Tramp II, Aladdin II, Lion King 1/2 you have no idea how funny some ofthese movies were...
@@duskytalkz Honestly this failure needed to happen for them to stop being comfortable. Hoping Studio Ghibli's win at the Oscars inspires them to be more adventurous with their 2026 original film (which I'm hoping is a musical).
I think what’s really great about this version of Cybertron is that it really feels like it’s alive. Like everything moves which makes sense because it is Primus. I especially love the synthwave sun on the surface and stuff.
As a life time fan of Transformers I can say they are are at thier best when used to explore humanity though a non-human perspective. When treated as not just robots but as people who happen to be robots they can touch us deeper than human characters treated as just mouth peices.
I totally agree with you about the wonderful storytelling in this movie, it is up there to being one of the best movies I've seen. And it is the best Transformers movie on multiple levels. I should know, I've seen every single one of them. The original 86 Transformers movie (even though it was a glorified toy advertisement) had an interesting story, through the chaos. My other favourite Transformers movie is Bumblebee. There is a lot of character and growth in that movie too. And, sadly, being an advent transformers fan for most of my life, I no longer consider any of the other live action Transformers movies canon anymore. Michael Bay cannot tell a good character story without destroying it with poor characters, over indulgence in special effects, and bad stereotypes, with juvenile, sexist humour. The original Star Wars trilogy had a really good story following the heroes' journey too. One of my all time favourite movies was Labyrinth, with the growth in character of Sarah played by Jennifer Connelly. But sadly there's not that many good movies made these days, with descent stories. I think the last movie I saw before TF One was Alita: Battle Angel.
I saw someone else also mentioning Bumblebee, you guys are going to get me to check it :dd it sounds promising Also I absolutely understand the pain of having to consider something not canon ;_; truly sorry it's such an unpleasant feeling when the people adapting certain media didn't care to portray it in a respectable way And yeah I've definitely noticed this trend of bad stories, it bugs me a lot but whelp at least we can discuss them and see what went wrong :d Thank so much for dropping a comment ^-^ really really appreciate it
I have to say that I completely understand why Megatron has such a high level of hatred. Because his life is all lies, everything is manipulated. This is a terrible thing. Generally speaking, when this happens, people will do two things. One is to find the truth and then redeem themselves. The other is like Megatron, he would rather not know the truth for his whole life than know that he is just a worthless object. Humans usually go to this extreme, and there are very few people who can really be redeemed from the truth. Most people will choose to wrap themselves up in hatred and then retaliate against all irrelevant people. But in this movie, I really don’t understand why Optimus Prime is so persistent in finding the core leader. Generally speaking, this requires an opportunity or a pre-story. For example, Optimus Prime was a librarian at the beginning. In the process, he accidentally discovered the lies of the twelve diamonds, and then he had the idea of starting to look for the core leader. When he did this, he was exiled to the miners, and then he met Megatron. The pre-story I mentioned comes from the War for Cybertron. The War for Cybertron game puts this story in a less prominent position, but this pre-story is very complete. The movie didn't seem to want to completely copy the story, so it made some small adaptations.
The library concept is really good, in that iteration of the story did Optimus tell Megatron about the leader lies or did he not and that got Megatron to be upset with him? But yeah I guess the movie wanted to have their own spin of the story. It personally didn't bug me, I'm imagining Optimus felt overworked as a miner and he didn't feel like there's much progress happening and wanted to take ahold of his life, like those people who don't fully rely on the government and the justice system and take things into their own hands, tho still the library pre-story would've been a very nice addition.
@@duskytalkz There is an extremely cruel background story in that story. The Twelve Divines are not actually good people. They rely on their original creative ability to be kings, and the social hierarchy is very strict. However, the original Transformers are still not owned by every Cybertron resident. This probably needs to be traced back to the fall of the Twelve Divines, when the Transformers were truly given Transformers. And the symbol of the king in that hierarchy is the leadership core. So the Twelve Divines themselves are fighting for the leadership core. After these things, it is the story of Megatron using dark energy to destroy the Cybertron core in order to gain power. For this movie, after this movie is Megatron's craziest period. Megatron didn't have the idea of restoring the home planet until he really destroyed Cybertron, even though his approach was to sacrifice other races. But this story is actually the story of the series after G1. The continuity of the story is very strong. It's just that this cruel, crazy and feudal background story is rarely mentioned.
@@duskytalkz I watched Transformers when I was a kid. I didn't watch the entire G1, but I watched Beastmaster, Power Rangers, and Galaxy Force. Even though many years have passed, I still remember those storylines. Good stories can actually make people unforgettable. The most ironic thing is that I would question Optimus Prime's leadership ability. Optimus Prime is a stereotypical positive character in most works, but Optimus Prime's tactical arrangements are very poor, and he always lets too many teammates become cannon fodder. In this confrontation, Megatron has a high personal charm. Although this character will be occupied by hatred for a while, Megatron has really thought about it. It's like Optimus Prime can't lead everything without a leadership core.
@@duskytalkz Actually, the character of Megatron is not full of hatred in all works. I am not sure whether it is "Fall of Cybertron" or a certain animation. Megatron can put down the confrontation and cooperate with Optimus Prime. When they need to face a stronger enemy that threatens everyone, the war between the Autobots and Decepticons can be stopped. (Humans are the least important link) And both Optimus Prime and Megatron have different death scenes. Megatron is never afraid of death, while Optimus Prime always fails to clearly weigh the pros and cons when making key decisions. But what I don’t understand is that most Transformers works directly put Megatron as a villain and ignore its pre-story.
Some people say d-16’s arc was rushed but I see it more like he’s always secretly been megatron inside but he has never had to power or real reason to become megatron but by the end of the movie he finally has the power and the reason to become megatron because of sentinal prime and later Optimus prime
14:47 which fits well because it’s theorized he gains Onyx Primes cog first, Onyx Prime had the power of foresight and knowledge, which D-16 later throws away to put in Megatronus Primes cog, showing that D-16 now would rather have power over knowledge.
The first time D gained knowledge in this story, it was the knowledge that Sentinel was a fraud, a child mutilator, and a traitor. _what good has knowledge ever done for him?_
This movie truly was a breathe of fresh air compared to everything else hollywood is putting out these days. I love your passion for movies, I myself am a HUGE movie fan and love writing. We gotta talk sometime.
Thank you so much for dropping a comment ^-^ yeah movies are pretty awesome, and it's also awesome that you love writing, keep it up, we need more people passionate about their writings and creations ^-^
Great job on the video! I really like how you described adventure not being a simple answer but rather a complex compulsion to explore and learn more about the world/setting around them!
1:14 As a person who became a Transformers fan by watching the season 1 of the série Transformers Prime i want to say thank god you don’t watch the previous live action Transformers movies before watching Transformers ONE because honestly the Transformers Live Action movies ( except the Bumblebee Movie ) do nothing with the Transformers franchise except giving a terrible image of the Transformers franchise toward the general audiences Plus fun fact Transformers ONE are the Transformers Movie who are the most clauseser of what the Transformers franchise really look like and really are so if you want more Transformers story like Transformers ONE in series they are Transformers Prime, Transformers Animated and Beast War Transformers in comics IDW and Skybound do fantastic job of caractérisation of the characters and made great dark story plus they are Transformers vidéo games like Transformers War For Cybertron, Transformers Fall Of Cybertron and Transformers Dévastation who have more simple story but still good quality story
O I see, so I lucked out by watching Transformers One first, that's so cool. Thank you so much for the recommendations, really appreciate it. One thing I learned by making this video is that the Transformers fanbase is really kind and sweet ㅠㅠ you guys are the best, thank you for taking the time to introduce me to the best ways to explore lore. ^-^
The algorithm sent me this video (on my homepage. The algorithm doesn't send me too many notifications for channels I'm not subscribed to), but I was hooked because Transformers One talk (though I think I prefer The Wild Robot), the thumbnail, and the title. I just subscribed though, because from a quick scan of your other videos, you seem like a based person and I want to see what else you have in store. I sense that this is a channel that deserves all the popularity it can get. Thankfully, it seems that's well underway
O, The Wild Robot, one friend and I have been talking about watching it, this is my sign, I definitely should 😂 thank you so much for the comment, I'm happy that the algorithm liked the video and happier that you did :dd also really appreciate the thumbnail feedback, I'm still kinda struggling with titles and thumbnails so I really appreciate hearing about what works
Excellent work Dusky Talks, good video. In case you are interested in learning more about Transformers, I would recommend here on youtube: Transformers basics by Chris McFeely, he goes through their Characters, technology, world, mythology, TV series and more.
Thank you so so much, I know what I'll be playing in the background while I do chores, I absolutely need a basics introduction, tf universe seems vast and interesting, I'd love a RUclipsr to guide me through it, thanks for the recommendation
Fun fact: the director, Josh Cooley, worked at Pixar for years and also directed ‘Toy Story 4’ as well. That might explain a few things regarding the overall quality of the film, itself. 🙂
People comment a lot about how quick D's personality shift was, but this is probably the best video I've seen to help understand why it actually makes a lot of sense. I can't say I wouldn't be the exact same way given I was in his situation. I imagine my oldest friend, now spouse, being a facade using me to achieve anything but love, and i'd absolutely lose my shit.
Thank you so much for dropping a comment, yeah I really think it wasn't all that sudden, it made sense in the context of his character. Someone in the comments had shared about their experience of being in a cult and they mentioned there were people acting quite like D-16, it was a very interesting insight.
I’m a transformers fan, and I think you hit the nail on the head! I’m so happy this was captured well, because one of the main concepts of the franchise is seeing the humanity in the transformers (for lack of a better term). They couldn’t be more different from humans - they’re robotic, from an alien planet, and can transform between two modes - yet again and again we see the humanity within these characters. It might differ a bit between different stories and continuities, but what makes the transformers unique isn’t that they’re different - it’s that they’re exactly the same as us, despite all their differences. This isn’t exactly related to the video, but it’s something I think adds to how well this film captures what can make the transformers great.
When a bunch of alien Robots makes me feel and DO FEEL more Humane than Disney's "Humans" they do feel more like Narrative tools/vehicles to the Movie rather than the Protagonist, you know Disney doesn't care anymore about the Script's Quality, Orion and D-16 gave me the Vibes of "Meant to be enemies but Behave like chaotic Roomates" type of dynamic.
D’s slow fall into madness was absolutely perfect, some part of me is on his side and Sentinel got what he deserved but then again D’s rage resulted in hurting the one person he cared about and he ends up doing so many unnecessary things to get his revenge, his rage being stronger than his care for Orion which is when he said “I’m done saving you” Orion knew once and for all, his friend was dead and there was only Megatron, even when he becomes Optimus he still tries to detain Megatron while Megs tried to kill him, always going for the head. Such a great movie.🔥🔥🔥
The writers really do not hold back in addressing the questions we need to ask in our lives everyday. This movie needs to be promoted like big time. I cried in the movie Encanto and turning Red. Transformers One now on my top list. I balled even more every time I rewatched it. I love your deep, genuine analysis of breaking down the heavy themes that has been manifested in a movie that everyone should watch. Best Coming of Age Film. TIL ALL ARE ONE.
Great Video, Love your content style. Keep up the good work. Also, having someone with no prior knowledge be able to enjoy this franchise and thoroughly enjoying it makes a lot of us happy to see someone enjoying something we also love.
They're not robots, They're living beings. They feel, they get hurt, They also consume food/ energy(energon),they get tired, they also die naturally. Just bcz they're made of metal doesn’t mean they're "robots".
This movie, Transformers One, and The Wild Robot were my two favorite movies this year and some of the best movies I’ve seen in a while. And like you said, the pure irony is that these characters are not human yet they felt more human, alive, soulful, emotional, and just beautiful than anything I’ve seen Disney put out. These movies feel like movies that Disney would’ve used to been able to have make or Pixar, but they don’t make them anymore and it is a true tragedy. I hope someday they can get back to making movies of this quality. In the meantime I am grateful to seen The Wild Robot and Transformers One.
What a great video, basically put all my thoughts in all the right places, I love your format, i hope you’ll make more videos, show them that you are more than meets the eye
Omg your accent is so cute, i am Brazilian and it sounds like home hahaha, anyway i loved the video and its great to know a "not a transformers adicted" (like me hahaha) also gets How well made it was
as a Transformers fan who watched Transformers Prime and read about the aligned continuity[not mentioning RID RB or RBA] One felt like a refreshing take on Transformers, this continuity decided to show us in film how Orion and D-16 became Optimus and Megatron, compared to Aligned Continuity where it was in the Books it did something the bayverse or rise of the beast couldnt, which is why its so good i just cant wait for the sequel to come out so we can see how these 2 as well as everyone else will develop i will Note that in the Aligned Continuity mainly Exodus rn, Orion was a Data Clerk under Alpha Trion who was the Master Archivist [and the one who petitioned for Orion to be a Prime] while D-16 was a Miner and Gladiator. D-16 fought in the pits and gained a mass following including Soundwave and Shockwave. Orion and D meet and become friends, both wanted to change Cybertron and rid it of the caste system the Quintessences had imposed before been defeated and banished. However upon meeting the High Council, when Orion gave his speech, D who named himself Megatron during the Pit fights, wasn't happy, especially when he was named the Prime. from that day, the 2 were Brothers no more, which led to the war. also worth pointing out 1: Sentinal wasnt evil, he was misguided and wasnt a great Leader/Prime, but during his time in prison, and a talk with Starscream, he changed and redeemed himself before dying 2: during the story its revealed Megatron and Starscream planned the kidnapping of Sentinal, Starscream was a air commander there so the change is very nice
If you want more emotional substance from Transformers, I recommend checking out the IDW comics. Especially the titles “More Than Meets The Eye” and “Robots in Disguise.”
D16 liked one thing, the easy way. Living within the rules and not being forced to deal with crushing adversity, the easy way. Killing Sentinel to get revenge for 50 cycles of explotation and oppression, the easy way. Getting rid of Orion and thusly the one person trying to get him to do the difficult path, the easy way. D16 idealized physical strength and the power to be free, he idolized Megatronus for being the strongest Prime, Sentinel for being a leader who fought the Quintessons. D16 chose to let his anger bubble over because it was the easiest way, because he had no value for the problems that mental strength will bring him. Mental strength forces you to acknowledge yourself and your actions, it forces you onto the difficult path of growth as a person, where as physical strength gives you the complete freedom of choice, the ability to feel unstoppable and do as you please. For D16, someone who clearly already knew his life was unfair and that the system was against him, why would he ever want to be mentally strong and acknowledge any of that when just doing as he was ordered was so much easier? So long as he stayed unaware, he stayed content, but never happy.
War between race already happened between Cybertronians and Quintessons. Ironically, in stopping war between races Sentinel invented caste/class system so he can gather loyal followers and established a "peaceful period" for Cybertronians. Then he eventually being overthrown and executed by a former miner which subsequently led to a planet-wide civil war. Just like Madara said, "His selfish intent to preserve peace, initiate war."
I haven't watch the new disney movie but I assume it'll be something not so interesting but TF always won me over Disney because well, they're not really afraid to kill of characters or have a really specific target audience. Disney is often making movies that I can't help but feel similar, very similar , with a new adorkable character most of the time and if not for the cool music I'd not even know of their movies. Transformers is atleast something that keeps me interested even if the Bay movies are... something. Bumblebee even made me cry whilst Disney movies usually have me wanting it to end quick just because I want to know how the story ends and that's it. No being attached to any characters or any interest in any other character, unless they're made as a really big mystery(in a way that is good not overly forced). I mean Disney had always made their movies for kids, which is fine, but sometimes the movie is just the same thing from a year ago with a different coat of paint. I mean there's a shit ton of sequels for no reason.
Disney has devolved into using their characters to push an ideology driven *message* In Transformers One, the humanity of the characters is the message. Feels like they wanted the movie to bomb because it's a return to basis, goes back to the original metaphysics, and it's the eternal tale: The self-sacrificing hero, that faces evil face-on, descends into the depths of Hell/Death and despair, but arises to restore the proper order from the malevolent usurper. When an exploitative corrupt military corporate establishment is exposed, we can take the narrow path of defeating them and take them to justice. Or to revolt violently giving in to resentful hate driven wrath, and history proves it never ends when the tyrants heads roll, but is immediately followed by wanton destruction, death and oppression for the innocent masses. You get spare finger to count how many revolutions did not sink countries into decades of bloody war horrors, misery and ruin. *Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lays his life for his friends* This perfectly describes Orion, while D-16 is a cautionary tale about the perils of idolizing others, emotionally investing in authorities and systems of governance. *Be angry yet do not sin Do not let the sun go down upon your anger* When you let anger and hatred turn into resntment, and even worse act upon it.... the final act when D lets Orion fall perfectly encapsulated this: As Orion falls you can see D's face twisted by pure wrathful hatred, he found out he had something else to loose, you can almost hear him say "look what you made my brother do, look at what you made me do". And as he screams charging at Sentinel the way the sound direction goes as we see Orion fall, it actually sounds as if D is falling... because he has.
i was never a fan of Transformers and i thought i needed to remind myself in order to watch the live action movies. However, this movie made me feel hyped and excited with every minute the movie had to offer. Even if i was aware of Megatron and Optimus Prime it felt heartbreaking watching it happen. Who would have thought that watching a movie about robots would make me feel inspired to make my own car into an Autobot lmao XD (PS. im talking about drawing, not actually fully transform my car)
Honestly, Strange World could have been the best mainline Disney 3D film for me if it had more structure, because I hate that it's set in a world where Steampunk and Fantasy unite, yet it was so poorly handled. I suppose I'm salty, because Steampunk is my favorite... technology-based science fiction genre, I guess you could say
Awesome analysis video! 😊 I would like to ask if you can make a video analysis about a NDS game called Transformers Decepticons, it is tie-in game based on the Transformers 2007 movie but unlike the film the game emphasizes on its story and characters where the decepticons have actually personalities alike their film counterparts. The game's story is about the decepticon side of the story where you play as a apprentice of Starscream who is on mission to find a missing decepticon and your being mentored by Barricade(voiced by Keith david) apprentice has actually character development towards your fellow decepticons. Trust me, you have to check it out! There's a video of the game's cut scenes.
Thank you so much for the sweet comment 🤗 the moment I read your request a video idea flashed in my mind (as in how to structure it and stuff) so I think I can do it, I'd love to try, I can't promise it'll be immediately since I'm already working on a few other topics but when I make that vid I'll come back here and drop you a comment to let you know ^-^
Even budgets too, Transformers One coast $75 million to make and it looks gorgeous compare to Wish in which it still buggs me it coasted $200 million to make
I personally have had experienced Transformers all my life. From the show to the toys to the movies. They were always an important part of my life. But then the Michael Bay films happened. It was enjoyable at first, a turn your brain off movie, and enjoy the fireworks. But by the third film, I stopped enjoying it. The plots were off, the continuity stopped existing, and it just became predictable. After that, it was the beginning of the end for me. My eyes had been opened. Marvel films started to decrease in quality, Star Wars films, that were just as important to my childhood as Transformers, was being desecrated to preach a message nobody wanted, and even video games stopped becoming fun for the same reasons. I had become cynical and apathetic. Then I saw clips of this film. I saw that it wanted to tell a story, not a message or a quick cash grab. It made something new while respecting the old. For the first time in years, I felt hope that good stories could be made. That what is coming out is more than meets the eye.
Bhaha, yeah, I was told, but too late 😂 I do that often, switching letters like that when typing, but online I saw other people saying they do it too 😭😭so I comfort myself with the thought that I'm not alone 😂😂
good movies tell a good story great movies tell great tale to me, Transformers One is great because as a certified human we saw machines as objects, impossible to have an emotions of it's own, we as a viewer know nothing about these characters because it is not written yet. yes Megatron is bad, yes Bumblebee is Optimus Prime's sidekick, but the story was never about them, it's about D-16, Orion Pax, B-127, they're completely different people, so what you know about these poeple are thrown out to the garbage, it is a blank canvas for a great tale, that is why character development in this movie is great because it didn't change anything.
Personally this is just my opinion but i hated how human they sounded, not the dialogue but the actual voices was just generic. They couldn't at least make them somewhat metallic or something? Like i don't care if scarlet Johansson or whatever is the voice actor i just want a voice actors that is fit for the role and the voices to actually sound robotic but sentient
"Don't you wanna stop him?-"
"no I WANT TO KILL HIM"
Is something i never seen in my life,
an emotion so angry.
*it could transform you permanently*
Do you feel like *rolling out* as well?
I hope it doesn't take us 3 weeks to get you unstuck
for me, this is the only Transformers media that actually made Megatron scary.

And Megatron will start the first Race War on Cybertron. Starting with the Quintessons.
that's called class difference.
Are you sure its not class since miners are just different proffesion(or societal class) not race like the human or the quintessons
@LituLate while the profession is more of a class thing, being cog-less is a physical trait. Artificially done, of course, hence the "Sentinel made racism", but still a physical trait to discriminate a group through.
@@sparksshepherd3313 Sentinel mutilated Cybertronian Youth from Day 1. That has unfortunate implications.
There was even a point where I totally forgot I was watching ROBOTS and thought of them as actual humans and deeply cared for them.
I mean it's not impossible, maybe, somewhere out there, there really is energy flowing through metal, regenerating, healing, taking it's shape and doing something
We're carbon based beings i think?
EXACTLY ITS HORRIBLY PAINFUL TO SEE THAT,
You know them so well that watching their origin happen before your eyes makes you helpless and utterly devastated
Rivals is not the right term
never understood why most TF entries need intrusive humans taking the spotlight when the transformers themselves are already human enough. Just look at how kids reacted at Optimus's death in the '86 movie, for them it was like he was a real person that was part of their lives.
He was a father figure for so many, and while I grew up with the Unicron Trilogy of the early 2000's, he was to me as well.
The reason why there are humans is that you can’t keep the budget down if you have 2h30m of live action CGI robots esp in 2007. The reason why there are intrusive humans is because of Michael Bay

Something I thought was interesting is you can see D-16's mental change in his physiology
He starts with yellow eyes, that when he unlocks his Fusion Cannon have a tinge of orange to them.
I really hope our support is enough and we get a sequel because I'm so invested ㅠㅠ
Also also thank you so much for dropping a comment ^-^
The yellow optic is interesting, as it is original Megatron toy's eye color (the one with fitting ID number: 16)
Now the only way to make this movie even more thematically perfect is to have Orion also start with yellow optic (also in his G1 toy), to notify that they were once brother in arms but took diferent path as they grown into the leaders we know & love.
I WANTED TO CRY SO BADLY PLEASE I KNEW I WASNT THE ONLY ONE SEEING THE FLICKERING LIGHT IN HIS EYES WHEN HE WAS BANISHED LIKE-
The disbelief that it came from his own friend. And I remember the monologue he had before he and Elite, Orion, and Bee were caught by the High Guards he said something along the lines of “I will never trust a so-called Prime again. Unless it’s-“ AND IT PAUSES AND MY BRAIN WENT “Oh my god he’s gonna say “Unless it’s you” TO ORION WHICH HURTS-
And another thing I wanna add bc the fact that Orion said “Don’t be like Sentinel” to Dee and he looked surprised before getting angry when he was abt to kill Sentinel made me so irritated in a good sense like YOU CANT SAY THAT TO SOMEONE WHOS BEEN LIED TO AND MAKE THEM BELIEVE WHAT THEYRE DOING IS SIMILAR TO A MONSTER WORSE THAN BOTH OF THEM
istg everything here in this movie is beautiful.
They also looked intentionally friggin adorable and funny in certain scenes
@dracodracarys2339 very well put and I couldn't agree more.
I thought the simple method of gradually changing the colouration of his eyes, from bright yellow moving through orange to finally the deep red, was a good way of showing the audience his shift in outlook and personal philosophy
The movie was so good that it felt like it went too fast. And I agree with you, Megatron's transformation felt natural.
how many times do we hear D-16 from the beginning talk about being violent?
"I'd transform into a shovel and beat you" "How about I kill you for waking me up" "If this is a trick, I'm going to smelt your face off" "If we survive this, I'm going to kill you"
It's jokes and sarcasm and banter, but I think it's intentional to plant the seed that his first instinct when angered is thinking about violence, and that his frustration is usually directed at Orion.
The movie also has its own continuity, so it can do its own thing
You would expect having an end goal to actually HELP writing the story, but I guess that's just too difficult for Disney's storywriters...
Also another thing is they made the city of iacon underground, making the surface a lot more interesting with it's unexplored nature
It also comes through a lot in how they mined. It reminds me of how they needed similar splints in the analogue horror “mystery flesh pit national park”
They are mining into a living thing, its going to heal up stuff like that
And how there's Even Organic vegetation on the surface. sure, the planet Is the metallic body of a God, but life finds a way, no matter What type or kind of life we're talking.

Well, the message being in the trash makes a kinda sense. As Sentinel could have wanted it to be destroyed and threw it in the trash.
XD
The journey D-16/Megatron goes trough is a controversial one. Some people say it was perfect, other said it was rushed.
I think it made sense. I grew up in a cult. And everything D/Megatron said in the second part of the movie is something I have said back then after I figured out how cruel/evil the cult I was part of was. (somethimes word for word)
Even when he faults Orion for going up on the surface, which led them figuring out the truth made sense for me.
Just a tip, you won't find a lots of lore in the movies.
The Transformers Prime series is very good too (tho the series starts very slow) but the second and third season are excellent.
Thank you so much for dropping a comment, really appreciate it ^-^
@@duskytalkz No problem! And thank you for making a very pleasant, enjoyable, and thoughtful video.
Even though i grew up watching the michael bay films i still somehow didn't expect him to be a twist villain
Plus ironicly the director of Transformers ONE is the same director then Toys Story 4
GamingMagic13: AaaaaaaaAAAAAAHG!
And the director of Disneys lilo&stitch among other things directed the wild robot
I didn't think Lasseter is still getting work.
@@ZX-GearI didn’t think Lasseter directed Toy Story 4 (that’s because he didn’t)
@jacliffh9221 Yeah. I cannot remember any other prominent members of Pixar that would have directed.
3:32 I didn't consciously pick up on the motherboard thing when I watched the film but you're RIGHT! That's so cool and makes so much sense!
This got THE TOUCH...
and THE POWER!!!!!

After all Disney's also is trying to sell us merchendisable stuff, and clothes and amusement parks, might as well put some effort into their characters while at it :dd
p.s. thanks so so much for the sweet wishes, really appreciate it 🤗
Tf one holds it characters accordable.
Unlike strange world that didn't punish the grandpa for **Abandoning** his son for more than 20 years of his life
Sentinel dies. No if and or buts
He did something wrong and no one pretends hes reasonable.
You meant “Sentinel”, right? Not “Sentimental”.
@GeometryEX-hp9zs ya I agree absolutely but i was more saying he's was just going be another angry evil leader like sentinel
Unlike Orion who is a good leader
@@pepita2437 I know about those; I'm talking about theatrical sequels.
@@duskytalkz Honestly this failure needed to happen for them to stop being comfortable. Hoping Studio Ghibli's win at the Oscars inspires them to be more adventurous with their 2026 original film (which I'm hoping is a musical).
@@OpticalSorcerer Some of these were theatrical sequels, like the Jungle Book 2.
The irony that a movie without humans has more humanity in it than some of Disney's last two animated films has not been lost to me. XD
I think what’s really great about this version of Cybertron is that it really feels like it’s alive. Like everything moves which makes sense because it is Primus. I especially love the synthwave sun on the surface and stuff.
First time coming to this channel, loved the video and loved Transformers One, hope the channel does well!
Thank you so much really appreciate you commenting 🤗
As a life time fan of Transformers I can say they are are at thier best when used to explore humanity though a non-human perspective.
When treated as not just robots but as people who happen to be robots they can touch us deeper than human characters treated as just mouth peices.
You know a story is well written if you know what’s going to happen (like me) and are still hooked.
The transformers one designs go hard.
I gonna said this video essay is very “well executed”.😁
Great video. Keep going 👍
Thank you for talking about transformers one.
Thank you so much means a lot to me that people enjoyed the video ^-^ I really appreciate you dropping a comment 🤗
Easy. One is written by robots, the other is written by humans.
whicth one
Ironically it is not the one with the robots that was made by AI.
Ironically, One is the human written one
That's such a witty way to put it, it got me laughing 😂
Wait so you're saying a cybertronian wrote it?
I saw someone else also mentioning Bumblebee, you guys are going to get me to check it :dd it sounds promising
Also I absolutely understand the pain of having to consider something not canon ;_; truly sorry it's such an unpleasant feeling when the people adapting certain media didn't care to portray it in a respectable way
And yeah I've definitely noticed this trend of bad stories, it bugs me a lot but whelp at least we can discuss them and see what went wrong :d
Thank so much for dropping a comment ^-^ really really appreciate it
YOU BETTER COVER THE WILD ROBOT FOR ONE OF YOUR NEXT VIDEOS PLSSS

1:14 As a person who became a Transformers fan by watching the season 1 of the série Transformers Prime i want to say thank god you don’t watch the previous live action Transformers movies before watching Transformers ONE because honestly the Transformers Live Action movies ( except the Bumblebee Movie ) do nothing with the Transformers franchise except giving a terrible image of the Transformers franchise toward the general audiences
Plus fun fact Transformers ONE are the Transformers Movie who are the most clauseser of what the Transformers franchise really look like and really are so if you want more Transformers story like Transformers ONE in series they are Transformers Prime, Transformers Animated and Beast War Transformers in comics IDW and Skybound do fantastic job of caractérisation of the characters and made great dark story plus they are Transformers vidéo games like Transformers War For Cybertron, Transformers Fall Of Cybertron and Transformers Dévastation who have more simple story but still good quality story

10:39 I can remember. Super Mario Bros 2023 had three friend dynamics that were very good
When a bunch of alien Robots makes me feel and DO FEEL more Humane than Disney's "Humans" they do feel more like Narrative tools/vehicles to the Movie rather than the Protagonist, you know Disney doesn't care anymore about the Script's Quality, Orion and D-16 gave me the Vibes of "Meant to be enemies but Behave like chaotic Roomates" type of dynamic.

Omg your accent is so cute, i am Brazilian and it sounds like home hahaha, anyway i loved the video and its great to know a "not a transformers adicted" (like me hahaha) also gets How well made it was
as a Transformers fan who watched Transformers Prime and read about the aligned continuity[not mentioning RID RB or RBA] One felt like a refreshing take on Transformers, this continuity decided to show us in film how Orion and D-16 became Optimus and Megatron, compared to Aligned Continuity where it was in the Books
it did something the bayverse or rise of the beast couldnt, which is why its so good
i just cant wait for the sequel to come out so we can see how these 2 as well as everyone else will develop
i will Note that in the Aligned Continuity mainly Exodus rn, Orion was a Data Clerk under Alpha Trion who was the Master Archivist [and the one who petitioned for Orion to be a Prime] while D-16 was a Miner and Gladiator. D-16 fought in the pits and gained a mass following including Soundwave and Shockwave. Orion and D meet and become friends, both wanted to change Cybertron and rid it of the caste system the Quintessences had imposed before been defeated and banished. However upon meeting the High Council, when Orion gave his speech, D who named himself Megatron during the Pit fights, wasn't happy, especially when he was named the Prime. from that day, the 2 were Brothers no more, which led to the war.
also worth pointing out
1: Sentinal wasnt evil, he was misguided and wasnt a great Leader/Prime, but during his time in prison, and a talk with Starscream, he changed and redeemed himself before dying
2: during the story its revealed Megatron and Starscream planned the kidnapping of Sentinal, Starscream was a air commander there
so the change is very nice
TF One is so good I remembered I actually vibe with Transformers besides the comics
Disney has devolved into using their characters to push an ideology driven *message*
In Transformers One, the humanity of the characters is the message.
Feels like they wanted the movie to bomb because it's a return to basis, goes back to the original metaphysics, and it's the eternal tale:
The self-sacrificing hero, that faces evil face-on, descends into the depths of Hell/Death and despair, but arises to restore the proper order from the malevolent usurper.
*Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lays his life for his friends*
This perfectly describes Orion, while D-16 is a cautionary tale about the perils of idolizing others, emotionally investing in authorities and systems of governance.
*Be angry yet do not sin Do not let the sun go down upon your anger*
When you let anger and hatred turn into resntment, and even worse act upon it.... the final act when D lets Orion fall perfectly encapsulated this:
As Orion falls you can see D's face twisted by pure wrathful hatred, he found out he had something else to loose, you can almost hear him say "look what you made my brother do, look at what you made me do".
And as he screams charging at Sentinel the way the sound direction goes as we see Orion fall, it actually sounds as if D is falling... because he has.
You sound like the perfect voice actor for the Insulindian Phasmid in Disco Elysium
i was never a fan of Transformers and i thought i needed to remind myself in order to watch the live action movies.
Transformers One is the best movie I've seen all year, but I may be somewhat biased as a Transformers fan! Finally, no humans
Honestly, Strange World could have been the best mainline Disney 3D film for me if it had more structure, because I hate that it's set in a world where Steampunk and Fantasy unite, yet it was so poorly handled. I suppose I'm salty, because Steampunk is my favorite... technology-based science fiction genre, I guess you could say
a wonderful video for a magnificent movie. thank u :)
Amazing Video ❤❤
What's the music at 14:50 and further?
Thank you so much for the sweet comment 🤗 the moment I read your request a video idea flashed in my mind (as in how to structure it and stuff) so I think I can do it, I'd love to try, I can't promise it'll be immediately since I'm already working on a few other topics but when I make that vid I'll come back here and drop you a comment to let you know ^-^
@duskytalkz okay, and thank you!
Even budgets too, Transformers One coast $75 million to make and it looks gorgeous compare to Wish in which it still buggs me it coasted $200 million to make
Because the transfomers were portrayed as characters rather than cheap stereotypes like the people in Strange World
Strange World is the next Treasure Planet. It’ll be a perennial cult classic.
Love the TF lore
Personally I think strange world is underrated
transformers in lore are living things, not just robots if i remember correctly
You got sauce, im subscribi g
Just gonna say E-102 Gamma.
Just from the first frame of this video, I could tell that the video wasn't "palnned"
Bhaha, yeah, I was told, but too late 😂 I do that often, switching letters like that when typing, but online I saw other people saying they do it too 😭😭so I comfort myself with the thought that I'm not alone 😂😂
Also despite being aliens, not only are they humanoid, but their culture is 90% similar to us.
GamingMagic13: Who even directed Transformers One anywaaaaaaAAAAAHHHG!
WOOOOOOOOOOOOW
good movies tell a good story
great movies tell great tale
to me, Transformers One is great because as a certified human we saw machines as objects, impossible to have an emotions of it's own, we as a viewer know nothing about these characters because it is not written yet. yes Megatron is bad, yes Bumblebee is Optimus Prime's sidekick, but the story was never about them, it's about D-16, Orion Pax, B-127, they're completely different people, so what you know about these poeple are thrown out to the garbage, it is a blank canvas for a great tale, that is why character development in this movie is great because it didn't change anything.
Planet of the Apes and Transformers has better humanity than most human movies
Personally this is just my opinion but i hated how human they sounded, not the dialogue but the actual voices was just generic. They couldn't at least make them somewhat metallic or something? Like i don't care if scarlet Johansson or whatever is the voice actor i just want a voice actors that is fit for the role and the voices to actually sound robotic but sentient
They're not robots.
Transformers One >>Bettlejuice Mediocre.
The Wild Robot >>The Boy and The Heron by Studio Ghibli.
Dreamworks gets over Studio Ghibli.
good video thanks
Thank you too for dropping a comment ^-^
Good video and you speak cute and beautiful i subcribe, sorry for my bad english
I Love you
erm actually their not robots their cybertonians 🤓
I hate to be that one guy but they are labelled as robots and only behave like robots. Normally they are an alien race
