We know it's a live action remake of a beloved animated show, adored by millions, and that's reason enough to worry because the historical track record for these types of projects is abysmal. I hope Netflix chose the route suggested in this video, reimagining the story in a different medium so that it can stand on its own instead of just being a retread of the original show we've already seen. The problem is that studios primarily greenlight remakes for the money, not out of passion and a desire to create something fresh and different that'll stand the test of time. We'll soon find out what route they took and I'll be going into it with an open mind, but I'm not expecting greatness. ATLA was lightning in a bottle and this is not easily reproduced.
I don't need to watch it. I don't even need anyone else to review it for me. It's garbage, F tier. Even if live action remakes weren't trash 110% of the time -- which they are -- these are the same people who made Korra and the atrocious live action movie.

when adults play kids in movies its wrong cuz they should be kids, but when kids play kids in movies is wrong because they dont have the same level of experience of an adult? no one is expecting this to be great man we're just hoping its better than the movie
@@maksimal123 this is exactly it. If these live action remakes could *possibly* be as good as the original show, they would ipso facto possess the requisite originality to simply not be a remake. The act of remaking something in modern Hollywood is a confession of your own lack of originality, total artistic bankruptcy
I feel like for the witcher they did not keep to the major themes of the show. They basically sidelined Geralt for the side chicks. They have to keep to the major themes of the story in order to not lose the integrity of the story which they did NOT do in the witcher.
This my idea. We convince some guy that can attend a pitch meeting to sabotage a presentation showing them this. Then we siege the building until they come up with a good idea.
I feel like the show runners saying they wanted to chase the Game of Thrones audience is a pretty solid determining factor that it's likely gonna bomb. I mean, Rings of Power chased that audience and boy was that a doozy. Pressing X to doubt over here because these people thing the animated version is some how inferior simply because of the medium. That just seems like a bad hot take to run with.
This show is going to be like the Avatar film franchise. Visually stunning, but narratively a piece of shit. This is just another project done by Netflix that they don't understand and don't respect the writers and audience of proving once again that they're not worth opening up your wallet to.

I agree, the cinderella remake was the best remake. They created their own story but still kept true to the main themes of the cinderella story.
Pirates 2 and 3 get hate for legit no reason. They are great films.

Asian and Native American actors does a great job portraying Aang, Katara and Sokka and other characters.
