Heyyyy from TikTok! You’re so silly love it. I’m also from and live in Philly. Girrrrl every time I hear about how much everyone is paying in rent y’all make me thankful I brought a house when I did. Philly is expensive in my neighborhood alone. I saw these apartments starting at $2500 🤦🏾♀️ Congrats on the new place!
Great video. Your comment stretching your leg "I'm old" girl I'm old enough to be your mama. The fact you even sitting on the floor 🙌🏽😊 For me to get up and down like that would involve a tag team with lots of pushing, shoving and tugging 😂 The US has lost their mind with the rent prices. I'm a single person so that's a lot for one income. I moved to Europe 5 years ago. I live two streets back from the ocean, 1 bedroom (with a spare room) fully furnished 500.00, wifi 20.00, phone 10.00 regular but I pay 15.00 total for an international plan. I may be moving back in 2024 but girl those prices and Philly's cheaper than many other cities.
Girl I’m glad you found a place but you absolutely do not need 10,000 to move anywhere, especially in Philly. I’ve been living on my own since I was 16 in various states and I’m 31 now. Your rent should be -30% of your income. $1,375 for $55/yr income. First last and security is $4,125. Literally EVERY apartment has a 1 month free promotion in Philly rn so -$1,375 net effective, so $2,750 total. Furniture can be expensive, but like you said, find ways to save. If you need to furnish a place completely, you will likely spend 1-2.5x months rent on furnishings. So you realistically need 1 complete month of your salary saved to lease an apartment. I also work for a developer here in Philly and almost no one has over 1 month of their salary saved in their bank account. I’d say about 1 out of every 25 people that apply have over 10K. Various companies offer promotions, no deposit for good credit, reduced deposits for early move in, and most landlords don’t require last months rent unless your credit is below a certain point. I think the advice should be more like find apartments within your means, negotiate your rent, find apartments with promotions and focus on improving your credit while you save 1 months salary.
@@loraineswwworld if you think that should be the advice and you have tips that are also helpful you should make your own video describing that for people to see, this is based off of my experience
@@kelunderia ugh yeah that’s kind of hard bc it’s completely opposite here to Texas lol. It would be best if you could come spend time in the city prior. I’m not sure what area might call to you since you’re coming as an outsider if that makes sense
