    I was thinking that would be cool on a shield. I mean, I wouldn't hit it with a sword just out of respect for the magnificent art on it. See, art could bring world peace. 😊

    BAD ASS! Leaves and vines are cool too but I’ve been looking for other ideas as I learn tooling. Great project. I would like to find out more about 3 D embossing. Sounds interesting.

    As a new comer to this beautiful hobby. It’s nice to see less traditional items being carved. Wow wow wow. This is life goals for me.

      Thank you! I love rational leather work, but I find the non traditional stuff much more rewarding.
      You'll get there. Keep working at it

    great project! I was looking for the embossing/3D portion that was mentioned in the first part video.

      The embossing was something that I skipped in this video because I learned it from Elk Track Studios. I didn't want to give away the class he offers. I've got my own version of it now and will be releasing it soon.

    As a long time custom painter/artist I've done a lot of things with paint, metal, etc, and have started leather work to further my knowledge. Seeing this whole process ( even 1 year late...) it's just amazing to see the results!!

      Thank you! It ended up taking blue ribbon in the Masters division at the International Federation of Leather Guilds show last October.

    @Daniel reach i need this, but to be with more teaching...so, maybe something a little more simple that newbies can try

    • @TheLeatherverse
      @TheLeatherverse  Год назад +1

      Yeah, this video was more of a "come along for the ride"... not really meant for teaching. The video I did called "The Copper Dragon" is more of a teaching video.

    Daniel you are so very talented! can you put into your description somewhere what weight your leather is? we have been glued to this whole process and although we are not prepared to completely do what you did here we would like to give it a Canadian take and see what comes out of it! but we need to know the weight? is it 4-5oz leather or heavier than that

      Amber,
      Sorry for the delayed response. So glad to hear you enjoyed it. I belive the leather was in the 7-8 ounce range but you could easily do it with 5-6.
      I'd love to see your version when you're done!

    That is one serious project Daniel. Leather tooling is not something I plan on getting into but watching something like this take shape is (IMHO) like watching DaVinci in the Sistine Chapel! Will be perusing some of your other offerings as I get the time.

    Hello! I have a painting question! Ok so I m working on a unicorn horn. I want to paint white angelus paint first and overcoat i in he 18k gold. Should I do it while the leather is still flat? Or after I have sewn it into the horn?

    • @TheLeatherverse
      @TheLeatherverse  8 месяцев назад +1

      I wish I could answer, but without seeing the project, it's really hard for me to say.

      Ok, i am trying to figure out how to pist a pic. I haven't figured that out yet. Imagine a cone..saddle stitched. To make the horn. I have made a black one before and just dyed it..easy. this one, I want to use angelus and 18k gold.

    What ounce or wt of leather do you use?

    • @TheLeatherverse
      @TheLeatherverse  2 года назад

      The shield is roughly 8oz. I use anything between 2oz and 10oz.
