    Awesome video! I’m a sucker for process videos. Love how you incorporated airbrushing, painting, dye and antique paste in this one. A little intro to quite a detailed process. Thanks for sharing your art with us!

    Have you done a video on types of paint to use for airbrushing leather? Just bought a brush, but haven't tried it. Not a big fan of Angellus leather paints and was wondering if there was a better choice(s). Hoping for a brand with lots of different color shades to minimize mixing colors. Anyway, appreciate your talent and abilities and willingness to share.

    • @TheLeatherverse

      I haven't done one yet, but the answer is pretty easy, thankfully. Createx is my favorite... specifically the transparent colors. The "bloodline" set is what I use on almost everything. Just make sure you seal it with a clear aerosol sealer, or they'll wash off.

    I would love to see more video of techniques on how to use the air brush on leather. There's just not enough content out there on it. Also it might help to have videos on how to improve your airbrush skills.

      They are coming my friend! Right now I'm teaching airbrush classes for Elk Track Studios (Jim Linnel). I've got a video coming in the next 2 weeks where I paint a 4ft dragon I carved in leather.
      Skill classes are coming soon.

    Had the channel playing while I started a round knife sheath that I needed cause, well, round knives can get bitey if you're not paying attention. Then I heard the squeaky voice and instantly looked up, wondering how I had gotten switched to Floamy the squirrels channel. 😂

    I like watching your process. I would like to see you you would do a standard oil, resist, antique on something like a wallet. I have done a few, but with little to no success with both gel and paste antique.

    What kind and brand of paint are you using? I have 2 Iwata airbrushes and a compressor and probably the paint but I don't want to use something that is going to peel or crack. That's a lot of work to have it fall apart. Your work is beautiful. Thanks for sharing

    • @TheLeatherverse
      @TheLeatherverse  2 года назад

      I really like createx transparent paints. They don't need to be thinned and have great color saturation. They go on so thin they will never Crack. Just seal it well with an aerosol spray sealer

    Hi Daniel, saw your video on Weavers, I have not got an airbrush but am looking into this. What would be a good reasonable starter Airbrush kitset.?

    • @TheLeatherverse
      @TheLeatherverse  Год назад

      Hi Paul!
      The kit from Weaver is a good starter kit if you just want to do shading. The compressor is a little underpowered, but it still works for a newbie. The airbrush included in the kit is one that you'll probably never outgrow.
      Once you're ready to upgrade your compressor, there are lots of them on Amazon in the 75.00 range that work great. Just make sure it's got a regulator and a moisture trap on it.

    • @TheLeatherverse

      I just use the cheap ones from Hobby Lobby or Michael's. I just get the ones with the plastic handles. Super cheap, so I don't mind throwing them away when I mess them up.

    • @TheLeatherverse
      @TheLeatherverse  Год назад

      I get it. This was more of a "come along for the ride" but I can do a video like that in the future. As far as paint, I prefer the Createx transparent paints. But with them being water based, you have to seal them correctly or they will wash/wipe off. I've got online classes coming up that will cover all of this.
