I love your dog! Super cool vehicle to be working on, too. That little scoot is amazing. How you fix those things so intuitively is more than amazing. Cheers, Jay! ✌
Sweet puppie! Sprees were the cheapest models that Honda sent to North America. The case was full of oil. Reliable better than most new vehicles. Cool, Jay!
🎵It's not a big motorcycle, just a groovy little motorbike🎵 .....My cousin's cousin had a Spree back a few years ago, we used to take turns riding it around, even though none of us had a motorcycle license...lol. They are fun! Good job getting her running again!! 👍👍🛵
Makes me proud to own a 2003 piaggio vespa et2 50cc and a 2011 ice bear 50cc mopeds that I’ve worked on by myself by trial and error, vespa is a 2 stroke and ice bear is a 4 stroke engine, ice bear has 8k miles and vespa has 296 miles as they sit so seeing the spree makes me happy to see another on the road
Had an '86 Sprèe that had been of the road for 15 years. Took some work getting the cab cleaned and clearing out the idle jet but got her running and on the road. Fun little scooter. Just don't get her to far off the shoulder of the road into gravel or you will take a spill. Happened to me one time and tore my leg up when I wiped. Luckily I was wearing a helmet so my face was spared from getting torn up too.
That purple pint stripe seat sure brings back the memories. Had a non runner given to me in my late teen years. Got pulled over on it, fell off it many times, had a couple good drunk rides on it. Fun times.
Had a 1980 Honda CT 70 that I stored in my shed and I left the spark plug out of it and moisture got into the engine and seized it up. Really enjoyed it growing up. Still kicking myself for getting rid of it!
The now rare sighting of Flannel man!!!......in his native habitat.....Nice scooter! Almost bought a Spree brand new at Honda dealer mid 80's...I believe $750....Picked a red one out on Saturday afternoon.....Went to work Monday morning to talk to knowledgable coworker who had 2 Yamaha scooters...was going to buy after work. Coworker got hit by a car while riding.....broke leg....out for months.....Thought it was a bad omen...and never bought one...
I almost shut video when you were trying to wheelie it. Thoes parts are more valuable then some of thoes junk cars. I did video on a yamaha of same year and tried to replace carb. iI was 200 used and choke cable was 40. So I rebuilt carb and only changed choke cable. So the video still because you didn't just let it go to parts. Good job Jay
Hey buddy you lucked out twice. That adjustable screw was air/fuel mix for idle. It should of had a spring and rubber oring. Luckily didn't blow it backwards or it would of shot out also the seat on float needle didn't either. Lol
I just got a 1989 Honda tact 50cc 35 years old still runs really well the only problem I have is when the engine is hot it's very difficult to start. But when it's cold it starts first kick every time
So how long has it been sitting for?? Very little invested to get it back up and running and you even saved the battery, makes it even better. I remember Wishbone, but he was a short haired Jack Russell Terrier.
Were the Elites the ones that looked more angular than rounded? I see one around me sometimes that has what looks like a slotted grill up front. It sounds like a 4 stroke though. Is it probably an Elite? That little pup needs its own channel LOL. I"m more of aa large dog fan but any little dog that isn't a yapper is a keeper.
Yes the Elite is more angular and is a four stroke motor. The Elite 80 was in production for a long time from the 80s until at least the mid 2000s. Back in 84ish you could get an Elite 150 which would be better keeping up with traffic at about 55. the top end on the 80 was about 42mph on flat out ground and 50ish down hill. A little scary going 50 on a smaller size scooter though with those little tires
Sweeeet Mopeds are super awesome :3 i have a 2008 Roketa 49cc GY6 Moped Payed 100 bucks for it with Clean and clear title had 4,000 Miles on it (7,000Km) and well taken care of My buddy in Alabama are making it not do 35 but mayyybe 55 :P i got too get it back up in Minnesota for next summer XD
Melody here in England - absolutely dire moped (restricted 20 m. p. h.), Vision 50 better. 117 lbs little rocket. 😂, oil pump should be fine unless you put a 65/70 top end on /then pre-mix;).
If you get an elite Id buy this off you if the price is right. If you are recording with your phone, find a car mount bracket and modify it or clamp it on the front. Thanks for keeping your shirt on.
@@MXguy95 you should try and get it running again. Or at least do a walk around and post it if u don’t got time. I remember years ago you had one. I had my spree for quite a while also
Great to see the Honda come back to life.
I love Jay! And I love scooters!!

Thats Tims new puppy! She was sopping wet from running in the tall wet grass, but she's adorable!
@@MXguy95 I'll say! She's beautiful. Your scooter looks so fun to ride, too.

Flannel man is back😅🤞…Hi Tim. Thats a sweet honda scooter Jay🙃
instantly brought back childhood memories of Zumas and Sprees.

That’s a great beer go getter. Good luck with it

Nice one. Needs a left hand mirror, the lack of symmetry is too much, lol. 🤣

Didn't think I'd be watching a liquor cycle revival tonight but...here I am! 🤣
Enjoyed your video on the Spree. I have a real basket case to try and get running

Good find thoes are good money in NY. They're are getting harder to find and are making come back as cool to ride
i own a spree its called a nifty 50 here in nz, cool wee bikes, mine is a red 1985 model, and fully original
That thing reminds me of Sweatchuck, from the Police Academy movies. 🎬
What a cutie , The Doggy
The jungle site sells the horizontal 150cc motor, big bore kits, and all the upgraded parts for all these little scooters! Tons of fun
I thought I was watching a mustie1 video lol. OMGBRANFINDYO!
I had a red and white 1986 spree I loved that thing
In nyc or LA that little Spree would easily earn you $1k/ week doing food delivery. Easy to maintain, reliable fun transportation
I love your videos Jay.
Cute Jay

I haven’t seen this on the channel in years!.
Haven’t seen Tim in a hot minute
What about one of those el cheapo dash cams with the suction cups that walmart sells for the riding videos???

it needed oil too i can see the oil light glowing
i had a spree but it got stolen out of a parking garage
I like the bike I need to get me one cheap on gas
I own 2 mopeds and enjoy both very much because cheap on gas plus fun to work on
i have one of those since it was new has 50000 miles on it and still runs like new
American miles? Thats very long. My scooter has gone 1400km
does that have a nippon denso or ngk plug?

How’s flannel man doing, been a while since he’s been on the channel
He's doing better, recovering from a concussion. But doing better !
Hey jay isn’t this your old scooter you used to have . You showed it in an older video
12:42 Looks like there’s a crack in the oil reservoir on it
Was that Tim the flannel man in the beginning?
Yes it is!
What are weird shoes are on your feet?
Hi!
Is it me or does that look like the moped Trevor rides on GTA
You still got the Yamaha razz?
yes !
