There were reports of people getting 7.5 sec for 0 to 100 but 8s is still impressive for hybrid Suv. This is what people needs to see. Only wished if the corolla had this 2.5 engine with hybrid setup would have been awesome as a light weight nimble car.
It really bothers me about the foot space for the driver on the 4th gen(2018). It seems to have gotten smaller/ tighter on the clearance for your gas pedal foot
This is the front wheel drive variant. The AWD variant comes with two electric motors and can do 0-60 mph in 7.5 seconds. I've also seen a lot of sites saying the V6 RAV4 gets to 60 mph in 6.5 seconds. I'm guessing elevation has a lot to do with that.
The car only idles when it needs to charge the battery so it runs at a slightly higher rpm to charge. When the battery charge is sufficient the engine turns off, then it is silent.
@@eroom2087 didn't drive in the 80's, but I did drive on a couple of v8 in the late 90's. And, cars have gotten quicker, and I wouldn't want a car that can't go faster than 0 to 60 in 7 seconds, or was very slow going from 30 to 60 too slow.
I have some HV experience. Car weight is important here, lower-trim (package), fwd is faster than max trim and awd. Power in hybrids depends on battery charge state, in Toyota hybrids, battery usually holds (on monitor) between 50%-70%, like in this video, I think. When batery is 90%-100% (on monitor) after going downhill, car can be 0.5 sec faster and quicker to pedal response than usual or when charge is between 10%-30% it can be 2 seconds slower than usual.
Drove this baby for four days, loved every single moment of the experience :)

Corolla has 2.0 hybrid 180hp, wich is quicker then Rav4 hybrid. 0-100 in 7 sec.
@@bogdanmongol9518 nope its not
0-60 in 8 seconds... that's impressive for a Rav 4
There is a new one out called the 'prime' and it does it in 5.7 seconds
6,9 with conditions
wow these new rav 4s got a MASSIVE power bump
They should do something with the vacuum cleaner sounds
I would suggest to measure the noise inside the car not outside the car
good videos, please put the height above sea level where you got this performance
It's 430m.
@@PDriveTV thank you very much for response
Quick enough for Toyota.

2007 V6 RAV4 did 0-100km/h in 7.4 seconds but probably used more fuel.

🇯🇵 Toyota, the besttt
いい車だな
Why is that so loud when the car is in idle? Is it normal?

hey that's not too bad. its good enough for everyday use.

What I would be concern about is dependability and gas mileage, not worry about drag racing it, wrong vehicle for that
For me personally, ability to accelerate is a safety issue, especially in merges.
T I what did you do in the 80s with those v8s that where heavier than this with less horsepower

Hello, I would like you to test the 2019 RAV4 2.0 direct shift cvt (petrol engine)
3:01 is that launch control??!!
No, it's a warning message to say that the driver has their foot on the brake and accelerator simultaneously.
Matt Smith Ohhh I see. Would've been pretty crazy for a Rav4 to have launch control
Do the chrysler Sebring JXI
Australian channel. Do have Chrysler here (thankfully) except for 300C...
So it does it in 7.97 but claimed it’s 8.6. Hmmmmm

Really cool toaster
if normally accelerate,it will be quiet?
leo chen There is no way to avoid it’s loud engine noise. You should consider something else if you want a quiet suv.
@@bradpitt9106 not true. I've just rented one for 2 days and is perfectly fine.
If you floor it, it will be loud. During normal driving (say, cruising at 100 km/h), it was absolutely fine.

Hyundai kona electric is quicker for all you 0-100 fans
Driveway price
$39,392 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid
$64,682 Kona Electric
Not a big shock that its quicker when the price difference is that big.
Kona is also significantly more expensive, not even in comparable price brackets.
@@joytech23 probably because of the fact that it's not a full plug in hybrid. Still guzzles 5L per 100km. But value for money is great.
That car is good for laddys
