I work at a Toyota dealer as a tech and never even thought of a manual RAV 4. Only seen the CVTs. Glad to see Toyota still offering the manual in the newer line up. Mostly manuals I see at work is the Hilux and 86.

@@tacuazinful Hi !! I Hope you still have this car, could you please tellme How many RPM's is working your engine when you are driving at 100kms/h? Thanks for your useful coments!
I wish Toyota offered 2.5 manual in the US, would be much more fun to drive. I own an XLE 2.5L 8AT, it’s not bad but the lower gears are way too stretched. When it’s in the 3rd, it feels so much like a CVT.
Thank you PDriveTV for testing less popular/promoted versions such as this. Grateful if it is possible for you to test the 2.0 CVT version, as well as the ASX GSR or Exceed with the 2.4? I prefer the simplicity of non-hybrids and non-turbos. Thank you so much!
Great video as always. Gearing seems quite tall in second, probably why it is so sluggish, seems like a waste to have a 6 speed manual with such tall first and second gears, especially with this power to weight ratio.
Greetings from Guatemala, this is being the most sold suv here too (6 speed standard). I have a great cx5 2017 2.0 L but I want to buy this one this year.

We don’t get the 2.0 Manual in the UK :( Sucks. Nearly all of the newer Toyotas sold here are hybrids. There’s only a Corolla 1.2 hatch we have otherwise it’s hybrid.
We in Switzerland do! We also have Yaris and Aygo manual beside the 1.2 CH-R and Corolla. Landcruiser, Hilux and Proace are available too with manual. I guess you also get hese models with manual transmission in UK, would be weird if not :-) Habe a nice day!
So with manual transmission is faster than the one with CVT? Interesting... Deos enyone know what is the difference in the fuel consumption between the manual and CVT?
Probably the same gears as the Corolla but with larger tires. Why it's so long in the tooth in 1-2. We should be grateful we have the 2.5 with a tq converter 8 speed and no CVT at all. It gets between 21-30 mpg which isn't exactly stellar, but it keeps up with the big dawgs (zooom)! It gyrates going up steady inclines probably in 3rd gear. Like a rocky horse. It is a feedback in the tire flex and driveline. The computer is trying to compensate for it. If it isn't broken I won't have it reprogrammed. Maybe once we get a couple thou on it
Exciting stuff starts at 2:25
It’s that a eb61 or eb63 transmission ? Let me know I would appreciated.

Hey there! Hope you have good time with your new Toyota!

so the 2.0 is faster to 100 than the 2.5 auto !
Just proves how lack lustre CVT are that a manual can beat it with less power 🤣🤣

Only because the 2.0 can reach 100 in second gear. The 2.5 Edge needs a change to 3rd. The 2.5 is quicker everywhere else
As a mechanic i can tell manual trans will last almost forever . No issues at all. Obviously with the proper part seating in the drivers seat.
2.5L 8 speed auto RAV4 does it in 8 seconds so the 2.0L manual isn't quicker
