To congratulate Jeff on his welfare star, I will semi-quote Boy Meets World: “My Uncle Peeb, he does not care, ‘cause twice a month he gets welfare. My Uncle Joof has nylon hair. He bought the rug with his welfare.”
Watching this after coming off of SMS:CE, this feels like SO MUCH MORE FUN. Seriously. I don't always like randomizers (I feel like things are sometimes too much up to chance; I got completely stuck in SM/ALttP Randomizer twice and it kinda cooled me on the randomizer craze), but there's something really enjoyable about watching them just run around and be all "Hey, there's one WAIT THERE'S A STAR RIGHT ABOVE YOU" and stuff. It's true that it DOES feel easier, but it's more fun for a pair of people to do, especially with them trading off like they are.
I think the Last Piranna plant was on top of the place spitting out giant black boulders or right under that area. At 10:15 / 10:16 you can hear the plant grow then shoot a fire at you.
Guys I'm pretty sure the way the spawn spot for each level is based on what star you picked when you enter the level. For instance, you picked the bully star and spawned next to the bully, you picked the monkey star and spawned next to the monkey, and you picked the piranha plant star and spawned next to one of the piranha plants.
You can get up there without the shell haha. So facing the hill where the Star usually spawns there while standing where the tree is before going to the cold water that damages you as you swim. Go to the right in the water area and you’ll see ground popping up from the water barely. If you space it well you can triple jump on top of the steep hill right there. (you can also stand next to that tree and do the teleport thing, I don’t really remember where it takes you though but I do know there’s a funny glitch with that, if you lose your hat by getting blown by the big snowman head, teleport like 5 or so times, go to the hat and Mario will grab the hat multiple times and eventually he’ll just hold the hat in his hand).
I’ve seen a video where they hacked the camera and there are 2 islands, a big one and a small one and they are both in the same level. I think the enemies just have multiple sizes.
PEEBS! You should continue the Mario 64 Rom Hack Last Impact playthrough! Two days from now is the one year anniversary of the last episode made on the playthrough!
@@davidmcgill1000 It's not how the game *works*, per se. In actuality, there are two separate islands, but the lore of the game says the Pipes mess with Mario"s size.
@@JackOfen My only real complaint with the controls (though a major one in my opinion) was that you had to hold the Y button to run, which, while it was understandable considering the DS used a d-pad and not a control stick, felt kinda wrong after trying to play it on a 3DS. Basically I just don't think the controls have aged well.
The things they added for the most part were solid. Excluding the bunnies because that was monotonous filler. Personally i preffer the 64, the graphics for most part on ds didnt appeal to me. Call me nostalgic all you want. Also yes the controls on ds made it difficult even on the wii u to play.
@@Rexcalibar The controls are awful in the DS version. Not just the needless run button, but that Mario refuses to turn on a pivot anymore. That goes against how the game was designed to play. It's the only Mario game I've ever ragequit.
I haven't seen a comment that said the actual location of the last Piranha Plant, so I will just say it. They (there are two or three) are in the tiny world, not the big one. I hope you read this, and think about your poor life decisions. Edit: I just checked, and I was wrong about this, I must have remembered it wrong, sorry about that.
Every time they do the triangle jump, they could... just... backflip... "Z" and "A" no more relying on unnecessarily complicated flawed movement control that N64 technology had yet to perfect. I get it, it's ingrained in your muscle memory. But still.
I hope they do, if it's possible. I mean, they aren't exactly the best at this game lol. I've watched some people stream this who were amazing, and there were stars that were just impossible to get.
Austin is being annoying AF in this episode. Literally every two minutes he makes some claim with 100% certainty that turns out to be completely false. It'd be fine if it wasn't for Jeff constantly suggesting the correct answer, while Austin disregards him.

12:29 Mario kicks his health meter
How do people notice this stuff
12:30 lol it looked like he kicked the health bar away
You right. XD
10:16 you can hear the last piranha plant spit fire
8:48 Never before in the history of mankind has there been more deserving retribution than that which a goomba paid to Mario on this day.
Mario kicks away the life counter at 12:29.
LOL perfect timing!
16:58 I love the little “nyoom” sound effect they put in when the star *YEETED* itself across the map XD
8:18 LOL when I heard the Ring sound I instantly checked to see if someone was at my front door; my dog even started barking!
That "ptew" when they killed the bully and the star shot out at Mach 3 was just amazing.
lmao I was just thinking that
For future reference, you CAN grab onto the overhead wire in that cave.

Gaijin Goomba: I think I found a secret...
Keep playing this until it stops being fun, the changeups are surprisingly interesting
5:02 WHY JEFF WHY, WHY WOULDNT YOU PICK UP ANOTHER COIN?!?
Luke Jarvis that reminds me of that pub sorry video I but he WHY
This is much more fun to watch than the chaos edition
The next randomizer they do should totally be Multiworld Ocarina of Time. It'll be chaos! (But the fun kind, not the Sunshine Chaos kind)

Ebony Kitsune this is correct
This series is so fun xD
This game is the opposite of chaos edition. They got like 7 stars in a previous episode. In a chaos edition it would take 3 episodes to get 1.

Marro needs his Hat
FINALLY Jeff got approved for financial aid... 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
MOAR
I know in the DS version a toad in the opening hall would give you your hat back, I think it's the same in the 64 version but I'm not 100% sure
Iirc you have to go to the level you lost it in and find it in the original.

Could you play The Wario Land Series sometime please? It's a really interesting Series.

Yes, yes, yes! Absolutely. Love Wario Land.
Could start with Super Mario Land as well, since Wario Land 1 = Super Mario Land 3

The last piranha plant was probably on the floating island.
Dylan Singewald it’s not.
Mario changes size in Tiny-Huge Island, the island doesn't change size.
Not how the game works. Same thing happens with the Giant's Mask in Majora's Mask. The world is shrunk to make the player appear larger in comparison.

I don't get why people say the controls are aweful. I grew up with the 64 version and had no trouble at all with the DS version.

Jacob Beckstett this is incorrect. They went past the last one. You can hear it. It’s on top of the boulder dispenser thing.
@Rainbowforce5 Sorry, must have missed that one, but in the actual Mario 64 there are two or three tiny Piranha Plants and they count as well
