A tip here. When you increase the clock speed on Nvidia GPU's you are telling the card to run a higher clock at the same voltage. So you are effectively undervolting the card. This means you shouldn't see any temperature increase with your increased clock. Also when you run the new memory at a higher hz, it might be stable but actually run slower then you think. The reason is the error correction is so good on these that you might be getting tons of errors but not notice anything wrong other then worse benchmark scores.

Most enjoyable video, Dawid! Looking forward to Saturday's video when you compare the two systems. I would love to buy from Ali Express but I am still a little "skittish" about the distance and "survival rate" of their merchandise. Your videos make it very tempting, though! 🤔

Also Dawid, what program do you run to see those temps ? I'm just now getting back into the hobby after being out of it for 8 years or so. Would like to see what my GPU temps are.

I guess with the mem oc, the core wasn't able to reach the 2200 mhz speed because of the boards power delivery constraints. Those modules might be on their limits

People often make fun of me cause I almost only buy Asus parts, and sure it's a bit more expensive, but hey look at this quality we have ! My mobo (Asus Maximus V Extreme is 10 yo right now, I've added this exact same GPU on it and I still play last AAA games at almost max settings (in 1080p though, but I don't care about 4K. I prefer my 144 fps).

This generations Tuf cards have insanely good coolers!I have a Tuf 6800XT and while running heavy overclocks (2650-2700Mhz core and 2100-2150Mhz memory) it barely gets above 60 degrees on the core, and 80 ish degrees on the hotspot.. that is insanity :)

It doesn’t look like you increased the core voltage at all. That’s why you didn’t get much farther with your overclock and why your temps didn’t go up. You still have plenty of thermal headroom to increase voltage which may allow you to push your core clocks a bit higher.

The best way to usually OC these cards is using the curve feature, especially with the higher end cards as it will allow for higher clocks under full load and lower temps. With this setup the OC will actually drop once the card starts getting hot, with simple games it won't do much but play anything demanding it's going to drop due to temps. ruclips.net/video/FqpfYTi43TE/видео.html

Yeah I managed to get the MSI RTX 3060 Ventus 3x OC. I paid MSRP, it took weeks of going hard to find it, I didn’t settle with a Google or an Amazon search. I put serious leg work in and considering how I make an hour not sure if I was worth my time, but I like the card. The cooler on gpu is like running a custom loop on a i3-3220. It feels like they made the cooler for a 3080 and then said why reinvent the wheel n slapped it on the 3060 n charged an extra 100 bucks for it.

All you need to do is up the memory clock, start with 500, but honestly you can go to 1100 pretty safely on these 30xx cards. That will actually yield you more performance, got +13.2% on average with my 3060Ti on +1100 mem oc., nothing else.

Wish my 3080 performed this well under load. I have the 3080 Ventus OC model. Has a massive 3 slot cooler with 7 heat pipes and 3 fans. But yet if I run it stock, it pretty much gets to 83 degrees quick and stays there. Even with an undervolt and fans set to hit 100% at 80 degrees, I still can only get it down to about 78-79 degrees in 1440p (72-75 in 1080p). I also have 2 noctua fans right underneath the gpu pulling in cold air. When new gpu’s come out next year, I’m buying one and water cooling it.

My personal experience with MSI Afterburner is that when I increase the frequencies in small incraments, I can (somehow) achieve higher frequencies than what is actually stable/didn't crash. So, maybe try gradually increasing the core frequency and you'll get that magical 2.2 Ghz OC again ^^

I got the 3080 variant of this card (MSRP too, thanks memory express!) and I wasn't so lucky with mine in terms of OCing. I'll be lucky to stay over 2ghz on mine but it can do 1000 on the memory NP. I do find that even OC'd it can vary from game to game what frequency you end up at. Like in 3d mark it'll hover over 2ghz but in most games that actually push it 100% it never gets over 1900 no matter what I OC it to. It's weird. Temps aren't any different either. It tops out at about 72c in my case with the fan curve I have on it.

I see you don't monitor GPU wattage, so maybe the limitation came from the 110% power limit.
If you increase memory, it should take more wattage, thus preventing you from boosting all the way up to 2200mhz again.
If you want to go crazy, flash the bios to Asus ROG 120% power limit so you can increase the core frequency a little more and aim for a 10-11% FPS gain!
PS: Not flashing a BIOS properly can brick the card.
