I just found your videos today, car looks great and you're doing a cracking job. Well done on the new fuel line 👏 .when you go to fit the rubber seal to the drivers mirror seen back in previous vid there should be a reinforcement plate that's used. Looking forward to watching your progress
Enjoying your videos as have just bought a MK2 which I will be restoring. Can you let me know the solution you used in your ultrasound cleaner? Keep up the good work !
I didn’t need to as it was within the parameters in the Ford carb manual. If you want me to get a photo of the page for you, give me a shout on instagram or twitter
@@MorselsAndMotorsI found it in the autodata carb manual, but for the reference of others rebuilding a KJA referenced Ford 1V carburettor: Float level 31.0mm from bottom of the flange to the bottom of the float, with the float touching but not opening the needle valve. Choke plate gap, 3mm. Accelerator pump stroke, 2.0mm. Mine was a) full of filth (even worse than yours), and b) miles out on all 3 of these key set up measurements… Oh, and someone had been in previously and installed the accelerator pump ball and weight the wrong way round. It’s a miracle it ran at all.
Going to burn my Haynes manual, its useless. Im changing the clutch in the cinquecento and it says "disconnect the reverse switch".... like how do you do that ffs☹ about as useful as a chocolate teapot. That's only one example, they used to be much better written years ago.
Now that's a proper tinkering video! :D

Excellent work & what a result
Channel name should be tapping with ratchets, based on the intro 😊
Confidently done, I always maintained the inside of carbs were full of witchcraft and wizardry! Wonder if its the same Carb as my cortina?
It's a Ford, they could well be closely related, they used the same bits forever (Just change the name)🙂

Question on reassembly. Did you have to tweak the float valve level, and if so, what was the measurement?
