Thanks for watching!
What a relaxing video. The more I see the robot the more I think I need one.
We looooove to hear those sounds so clearly 😍👍. Thanks for your support!
😍😍😍
simple, clear, soothing, informative, lovely.
Hi Charles, thank you for your kind words 😍 All the best Frank
the beauty in its simplicity gives my eye a single tear.. the velvety texture is that of which my soul feels upon its witness of such perfect expression...
Bravo dear friend.. and of course.. saluti..
What a beautiful video. With my favorite gear! Thank you
This is just stunning. I have been debating between the Robot and the Flair, but this looks fantastic.
that's what im going through now - what did you go with?? and how is it?
@@YumEspressoYum I got the Robot and have absolutely no regrets. I use it every day. To be fair, I have not tried the Flair, but have been really happy with my decision.
@@bodhidogculture amazing good to hear! I'm going for it. I only hear amazing things. In terms of accessories, any recommendations? My plan is to get a kinu for grinder, the mittens, the leveler tamper, and then 3d printing a magnet to keep the arms together at the top... That's the plan anyway... Any thoughts?
@@YumEspressoYum Enjoy! I got the 1zPresso J Max and am happy with it, but was debating that and Kinu as well. As far as accessories, I thought I would look into all of those as well, but decided to try it first. Honestly I have not found that I needed any of those things.
@@bodhidogculture sounds amazing. Ya, I heard great things about jmax also but just felt like a splurge. Ie accessories - I'm getting trigger happy and ahead of myself. I'll perhaps do a follow up order on those items. Trouble with coffee is, you don't know until you try oftentimes and you're left wondering, what if, will it be better etc.... Thanks for the messages.
Those beans are so dark…. Light roasts for me. I love how the glass jar fits perfectly into the portafilter. Nice
How many clicks do you like to use on the Commandante for use with the Robot? I just ordered almost this exact setup!
this relaxed me a crazy amount and i also feel i cud make a coffee using these gadgets now. filmed great especially the espresso dripping and the music was fantastically fitting. also awesome for not posting affiliate links or advertising etc, subbed
Yessss I have a Comandante and I have been eyeing off a Robot for a while now. I think this video has sold me on it 🖤
Hi Paige, go for it! We bought our Robot a year ago and still enjoy making coffee with it every morning 😍
i have had the same combination for almost a year now and love it. You’ll be happy with the purchase for sure
So calming and satisfying to watch.
Thank you so much, we are happy you like it! 😊
Great video, about to buy a robot, would you say a pressure gauge is needed?
Wow, that was beautiful!
Thank you so much 😊
This video is such an eye candy! Filmed so well. 👏 What is your grinder setting on the C40? How many clicks?
Thank you so much! 😊 Grind setting: 8 clicks
@@PeanutPepper Great video! Is the 8 clicks with the Red Clix or the original set?
Thank you Lydia! We use the original set.
@@PeanutPepper Ou really? I got my cafelat robot yesterday, my c40 is using Red Clix and the click is 11 which equal to the original set 5 between 6 and it is quite watery for the robot shot. lol not sure where went wrong
@@lydialiu3936 Depending on the coffee beans, the degree of roasting and of course the amount of beans (we use 18-21 grams), our grind setting is usually between 6-8 clicks. Here with the darker roasted coffee beans 8 clicks works best for us.
great camera work
Thank you! Glad you like it 👍😀
Fantastic, relaxing video. Can i ask where you got the espresso glass from?! It's a great shape and size, especially to add a splash of milk inside :-)
Thank you so much for the lovely feedback! 😍 Yes, the espresso glass size is perfect! Unfortunately, I can't remember where we bought it 😬
No worries, kind of you to reply! And I’ve just bought the Robot - what a pleasure to use!
Nice video! it's possible to buy a larger cup to add water for make coffee?
I also have this set up. My pride n joy 😂
Set the commandante from 8 to 13 clicks but I keep getting a lot of sour notes. Especially when I let the coffee cool down a bit. I did put less water in it though, cuz it gets messy pretty quick while holding the arms up from the robot
Do you use red clix mod? Because i had to use 9-10 on redclix (it is about 5 standart clicks) otherwise the coffee just pass the puck without any pressure . But there are many cases where people use 7-9 standard clicks and get good results. I cant find any info sbout it
How many clicks on grinder?
Great naked portafilter showing no channeling! How many clicks from the correct zero is that, on the Comandante? And is it MK4 or MK3?
This is amazing! I am actually looking in getting this setup as well. Some people say the comandante doesnt go fine enough. Are you experiencing any difficulties with it?
Thank you so much! 😊 I am very happy with my setup. The grind setting on my comandate is always between 5-8 clicks (regular axle) for espresso. I have never needed a finer grind below 5 clicks.
If you still need a finer adjustment, you can change the axle. For espresso, the Red Clix is better suited. The Red Clix has twice as many grinding settings as the regular axle, but I generally get along very well with the regular axle.
Just bought a Robot recently and have the same setup. Love the video! What click range do you usually find you’re grinding with the Commandante? So far I’ve really only been able to work between 5-8 clicks
Hi Roman, thank you! 😊 yeah, that’s the same range we are working with! 👍 All the best Frank
Wow, everything under 10 clicks on my commandante feels like i am pressing blood out of a stone at the Robot. How hard to you tamper with such fine grind?
@@chrisbrodroy1183 As hard as I can. How long do you pre-infuse for? I generally pre-infuse for 30-60 seconds before pulling which makes it 10x easier. Here's my normal go-to recipe:
17-20g coffee
pre-infusion 60 seconds
pull until you get 50-60g espresso
Highly recommend watching Lucucina's channel. It's in German (w/ English subs) but he shares some insights on how he dials in his shots w/ the commandante + robot combo. Trick is to not release any downward pressure during pre-infusion or you unseat the puck and get channeling.
Amazing! Beans to water ratio here?
Great video. Question, are you using red clix? Or is that 8 clicks on the standard axle?
Thank you! 👍 The Red Clix is on our wishlist. We still use the original axle.
Habt ihr kochendes Wasser eingefüllt? Oder hatte es eine bestimmte Temperatur?
Nö, keine bestimmte Temperatur - einfach kochendes Wasser! 😀
Beautiful Video
A very long grinding time with C40 and espresso clicks range. Decide to buy something with electric 😂
How do you get such a nice flow? I recently purchased a robot and have had a hard time getting a good flow
With dark roasted beans we always have very good shots. For a double espresso we take 19 grams. If we have too much resistance when pressing through, we grind the beans a little coarser. If the coffee runs through too quickly, we grind one step finer. In this way, we usually find the right grind size after two or three shots. Alternatively, you can reduce the amount of beans (faster throughput) or increase it (slower throughput). The fresher the beans are roasted, the more crema 😋 We wish you a good flow 👍 All the best Frank
@@PeanutPepper what type of bar are you using for it? I'm similar to Jeremy in that I get a few holes on the basket which aren't getting anything through. Not many but not as clear as you guys!
@@joconnell Hi John, we have the model without pressure gauge and do it more by feeling. Do you have a lot of resistance when pushing through?
@@joconnell Ive gotten some good results at 8-9 bars, you can also try grinding superfine and pulling at 6 bars for a longer period of time
@@RoboGirr oh plenty of resistance, I'm kind of wondering if I'm causing more problems to myself by using a little whisk / needle wdt tool. There seems to be a lot of differing opinions about longer or short preinfusion and the sourness of a shot too. Right now I'm working on my milk so that's covering a lot of things in the espresso, doing a course on sunday purely on espresso tasting so lets see what outcomes I get!
Whats the shot glass you have there?
What is that beautiful container you use for bean storage?
Thank you! 🥰 It's a black coated glass jar with airtight bamboo lid - it is from IKEA

Thank you Benjamin! You are welcome 😍
lovely pulover
I don't think its dark roast, its coal.
might be some tone alteration to make the images look fancy, but it definitely looked scorched 😄
