Update: The lactic acid in The Ordinary Alpha Arbutin + HA made my skin very sensitive and I've had to discontinue using it. Note: I was using it twice a day. Possibly using it once a day might have been better, but the damage is done and I'll not be using it again until my skin recovers, which could take a while.
I use hydroquinone, but haven't found that it does miracles on my age spots. I have found Paula's Choice Radiance Renewal Mask with arbutin is helpful. I've used it as a night time moisturizer and left it on all night every night. Recently, I purchased The Ordinary Alpha Arbutin + HA to use when I cycle off hydroquinone. My hope is that it will work.
Alpha arbutin won't help me luv my Dermatologist just found Actinic keratosis on me and I'm absolutely freaking out and a bit scared I pray the treatment don't scar me 😢 I'm really sad. 😒🙏
@DoctorAnne Thank you thats incredibly encouraging to me I think she's going to use a cryotherapy to freeze the Ak on me, its on my face and I think I found one on my leg 🦵 not sure as of yet if I have any more elsewhere 🤷♂️ I have another appointment to do a full body inspection and I'm super nervous because I just don't want any more found on me . I just hope it doesn't f up my face because I already have a few age spots that I can barely mentally handle 🫣😮💨 anyways bless you for your kindness it means a lot to me. ☺️🫶🙏
There isn't one thing best for a solar lentigo, it usually takes a combination of different things, first of all sunscreen, and patience. Here in Germany Hydroquinone is prescription, in which case your treating doctor would have individualized recommendations if it is preferable.
@@DoctorAnnethank you for your answer. i am in the Netherlands so here it is also with prescription. i wear sunscreen everyday and use g&g retinal 0,05. i am 42 years old and have this spot on my cheek like an old lady, it is probably due usage of the birth control pill in my younger years. Anyways, thank you so much for your videos🙏
@DoctorAnne Thanks for your reply and for letting me know. I understand it usually takes multiple ingredients to tackle persistent hyperpigmentation. It's a long game too.
I Thank you for sharing your wonderful videos ❤🖖
Thank you for your support.
I will add this into my morning routine, especially with summer on it's way. Keep that melasma at bay. Hi from Australia
Melasma really needs constant treatment.

Which concentration of Hydroquinone do you use? Prescription?
@DoctorAnne .8% and in January it's going up to 1%
@@susanmcf1 Okay, so still quite a low concentration. Maybe the increase will give better results.
@@DoctorAnne I'm sorry, my prescription for hydroquinone is 12%.
@@susanmcf1 Ah, sorry I misunderstood.

I've been loosing sleep over it 😮💨 I truly appreciate you ♡🌻
Would it help with a solar lentigo spot? Or is hydroquinone better for that?

Thanks Dr. Anne. Did you find using alpha arbutin useful in your skincare regime for any hyperpigmentation?
I found it helped a little, but my hyperpigmentation routines are usually multistep, so it is hard to say which one product had how much of an impact.

@@davidsotir4318 It is indeed.
