Scientists: "These signals can't be from aliens, they never repeat."
Also scientists: "Let's send a signal to another star, but only transmit it once."

This is actually quite accurate. Carl Sagan himself sent out an extremely powerful signal in 1974 from the Arecibo Radio Telescope as a greeting to aliens, but it was never repeated.

@@donkeysaurusrex7881 _"These are the same guys who largely didn’t believe there were planets outside our solar system 30 years ago"_ That's a perfect example of how science works. We don't start out proclaiming every brain fart to be true. We realize that logic, intuitive thinking and imagination have no bearing on the truth. So we start with the model that things don't exist.
Then we build instruments to test whether those things might exist. Did UFO enthusiasts, or internet channel owners find out the truth? No, they made no effort to find external planets.
The ones who formulated the plans and built instruments whose next level capabilities could actually detect exoplanets were astronomers, astrophysicists, opticians, universities and NASA, you know, the ones you say are in a conspiracy to keep mankind from knowing "the truth." Yes, if you got your way science would end. All that would be necessary is for some fool like you to simply proclaim "aliens are all around us, the galaxy is full of exoplanets" and shazaam! We don't need no freakin' research. You have spoken and the issue is decided.
Instead, actual clear-thinking individuals in groups like NASA did the hard and long work of designing instruments capable of gathering evidence as to whether or not exoplanets really existed. While you were denouncing them as fools, they progressed to developing the instruments capable of actually characterizing those exoplanets' sizes, temperatures, atmospheres, etc. And astronomy and NASA have told you everything you know about those exoplanets.
Your reply? They're idiots. _"These are the same guys who largely didn’t believe there were planets outside our solar system 30 years ago"_ Get a life. They have lives--significant lives that improve even stupid people's lives, so they can say really stupid things.

It strikes me that statistically it's possible that various element formations could produce chambers akin to magnetrons which could be activated with a burst of energy from a neutron star or supernova, which evidently won't repeat.

Other reasons: There was an "anomalous" metal piece from Roswell, specifically from the Roswell incident of 1947. This was a piece of unidentified metal alleged to contain magnesium with a bismuth crystalline structure inside which produced terahertz radiation which the unknown metal channeled perfectly to produce antigravity effects. It ran the carny circuit for many years, but finally snagged by the AARO, the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office, charged with rigorous scientific study of alleged alien materials. Why doesn't Avi Loeb schlep all his alien material over there since they are the state of the art in testing of such materials. I've never heard Loeb even mention the AARO.....hmmmmm. But I'm off subject.
AARO tested this material for two years, and answered questions, such as "is this extraterrestrial material from outside our solar system?" and "Does this material have great transmission and waveguiding of terahertz electromagnetic radiation?" "Do those bismuth crystals actually generate terahertz frequencies?" "Do the terahertz frequencies produce any antigravity effects?" Definitively and rigorously, AARO answered those questions. I'll let you find the answers yourself in this footnoted and linked to the scientific papers in peer reviewed journals. this is an exemplary video worth imitating for someone trying to establish the truth about controversial subjects, such as UAPs. ruclips.net/video/J6xtxZwrGLY/видео.htmlsi=ZQml43qw0Iwe2iG-
Why is UFO research so difficult? Because fake artifacts flood the evaluation system, discouraging real research. The alien enthusiasts are killing the research they claim to want.

It's amazing that we expend any effort to find intelligent life in the far reaches of the galaxy, believing that eventually we will find it - out there.
Yet, when someone like Abi Lobe proposes a theory that Omuahmuah might be alien tech, or that the microspherials in the bottom of the sea might be artificial metal alloys that came from outside our solar system, or when the military are forced to confess that there's been unidentified craft doing things outside of humankind's known technical limits, everyone throws cold water on the idea that space aliens exist...

    • @RockinRobbins13
      @RockinRobbins13 Месяц назад

Yes, the conflict between those actually searching for any alien life and those like Loeb, who make no effort whatever but are only interested in notoriety is stark. If Loeb has his way, alien research is over. All you have to do is go to a random spot in the ocean, collect a couple hundred of the billions of similar spheres distributed all over the globe and proclaim loudly that these spheres of formerly molten metal are part of an alien mechanism "using artificial intelligence.":
      Rules:
DO NOT tell the public what every astronomer knows, that the oceans of the world and the Antarctic ice cap host billions of similar spheres.
DO NOT send these samples to the military organization, AARO, the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office, which has the expertise and equipment to conduct analyses which would clearly show whether material was from outside our solar system
DO NOT inform the public of the reasons your wacko hypothesis is probably utterly wrong. Claim with confidence that a garden variety meteor that was in no way remarkable, was definitely from outside our solar system. Billions of iron meteors from interplanetary and interstellar space have left more billions of small sphericals everywhere on the planet.
DO make weird, hyperbolic and sensational claims that you know are wrong, but might fool lay people. Loeb made other weird and wild claims. I’ll quote Dr Monica Grady again from *The Conversation.* _”But Loeb doesn’t just think the material is from space, he thinks it is from interstellar space - arguing “this could be the first time humans put their hands on interstellar material.”_
_”This is simply not true. We have an abundance of interstellar material on Earth. Some of it is almost certainly on the ocean floor, but not in the form collected by Loeb.”_
Real scientists are not shy about denouncing the scientism (to steal a Flat Earthian term) of Avi Loeb. Loeb has left the entire realm of science in favor of grandiose claims having no chance of falsifiability or verification. As Dr Grady said in the conclusion of her devastating article, _”I am not sure what evidence would be sufficiently convincing for this - maybe the autograph of the alien engineer who built the spacecraft?”_ And with that Loeb is drowned by the cavalcade of scientific laughter. He certainly earned it. Immanuel Velikovsky would be proud.
Here's the definitive test to determine whether a scientific paper is really scientific or merely pseudoscientific, like Avi Loeb's. We'll quote an actual scientist, famous for innovative findings that are well researched and meticulously proved. _”For example, if you’re doing an experiment, you should report everything you think might make it invalid-not only what you think is right about it: other causes that could possibly explain your results; and things you’ve thought about that you’ve eliminated by some other experiment, and how they worked-to make sure the other fellow can tell they have been eliminated.”_
_”Details that would throw doubt on your interpretation must be given, if you know them. You must do the best you can-if you know anything wrong, or possibly wrong, to explain it. If make a theory, for example, and advertise it or put it out, then you must also put down all the facts that disagree with it, as well as those that agree with it.”_ -Richard Feynman, “Cargo Cult Science”
And I close with an observation about the OBLIGATION of a scientific paper to clearly explain the reasons it might not be true: a characteristic found in NO Avi Loeb "scientific" paper. _”The less you study a subject, the more possible explanations you can imagine. The more data you have, the fewer explanations explain the data.”_
_”If the police are trying to find out who the killer was, as they gather evidence the number of suspects, through the process of elimination, gets reduced and hopefully they can narrow it down to one. But before they go through the process of collecting the clues, the number of suspects is numerous.”_
_”It’s the same here. The less you study a subject, the more possible explanations you can imagine. But the more you study a subject, the number of explanations gets reduced. That is why it seems to the outsider that experts’ minds are more closed.”_ - Dr David Miano “World of Antiquity” RUclips Channel.
But as we refine our knowledge with new data, Weirdo denialists' fantasy claims are always that our minds are closed, that the ideas eliminated by careful evidence collection and analysis are the most likely to be true. Hogwash. The truth renders all other possible explanations false. One truth: billions of brain farts. That's science.

What if the sources were less powerful, but close, and moving fast? Like, say, a spaceship passing by.
Imagine being a rabbit whose Warren is close to a rarely-used back road. Once every lifetime or so, a car goes by. Usually they pass unnoticed. But you swear you heard something the other day ... Music from a loud radio. It lasted only moments, then was gone. You go to see what made that noise - nothing but the usual cornfields or trees.
What was it? Most of your tribe thinks you're nuts, except for Great Uncle Wiggly, who says he heard it once, too ... But everyone thinks he's also gone tharn ...

We are only a couple of decades away from ending forever the use of RF signals in spacecraft control, administration, maintenance, and communications.US intelligence is already changing from RF to laser communications. Our entire history of RF in space will span less than 100 years, This is true of any other advanced technology planet. SETI began introducing optical space signal receivers about a decade ago. Every optical telescope has splash areas just outside its optical path where light leaves the optical beam and is wasted. Optical receivers can be placed at these spots and be constantly monitored by fairly cheap computers. Every form of digital light signal can be separated from background noise,
