Nice showcase of this unusual Genki game. They tried to bring their proven Highway racing format to the track. Unfortunately it doesnt have alot of tracks, most of it is just the known highway racing in daylight. I think this was more of a stepping stone for TXR Drift which differed more from their standard Wangan racing and featured more unique Touge tracks.
Okay, for the DP Battles, I suggest to get an AWD car, then tune the torque split around 20/80 or 10/90. It'll absolutely destroy DP Battles, even an Impreza Wagon is insanely good for drifting. This is the only game in the series, that let's you torque split any AWD cars, not even TXRD2 are able to.
oh and buying a couple of stuff from Super Autobacs helps too, buying DP ones help increasing drift score earnings on DP battles, which might be coming handy during late game DP battles
This is definitely one of the best gran turismo clones you can find from this time period (early 2000's) and has a unique charm to it since after all, it's made by Genki.
One thing you missed was the LAYOUTS, which lets you customize the props in your garage. While you’re between SP battles you can hit the pits to restore your car.
Here's a tip for drifting If u need a drift car,use that Nissan Elgrand for drifting Event, That MPV thing can Obliterated those drift Targets I already try it while completing the Drift challenge Upgrade the car and done fully tuned elgrand can beat the targeted drift points
and while he's at it, he needs to get the ones driven by Genesis leader, because he can tackle several wagon required Wanderers in this game including this one Suzuki Carry I was talking about that requires you to drive one of the team leader cars
For me, i used the RX-8 since i felt like it was light enough. My biggest tip on drifting in this game is that, when your car is powerful enough, DO NOT USE ANYTHING BELOW 3RD GEAR. Unless if you wanna play the gear ratios, the car just gets too twitchy at lower gears. Enough that even doing tight corners would be impossible. Also, avoid getting tie rods for drifting. It just makes the car's twitchyness worse imo.
Wow I had never heard of this. It's like an amalgamation of the originals and the Drift games and pretty stacked with its ideas. I wouldn't mind the new TXR game borrowing from this concept.
Does this one have a widescreen patch? Last time I tried using the translated version, the cars are stretched, and the widescreen patch only works on original Japanese version.
too bad that finding the original Japanese copy to applying the translation patch isn't an option as of now due to the fact Internet Archive is currently kicking on the bucket due to the watermelon cult hacktivist attack
You can use the regular widescreen patch for the Japanese version, just rename the file to match the patched game's CRC, which in this case should be 15E08ED1. Hope this helps! :)
here's the thing, unlike GT, this game is only released in Japan, and this game has several TXR elements which trails back on whose developing & publishing it
What an underrated game. Wish it released worldwide. The soundtrack is one of my favourites.

I also forgot to tell that buying stuff at "Super Autobacs" shop tab that's related to DP will increase your drift point earnings as well

The last game that allowed you to change the gauges was import tuner challenge

Aye, appreciate the help.
I see Genki and Dustin. I click ❤❤
what do you mean by "gran turismo clone from japan"? you didn't know that gran turismo is from japan too?
here's the thing, unlike GT, this game is only released in Japan, and this game has several TXR elements which trails back on whose developing & publishing it
I think "from" should be replaced with "that never left"
